Order at your own risk*** As an entrepreneur, I hate to leave negative reviews but when I tell you Artistry On Cakes earned this ZERO RATING. THEY EARNED IT Issue #1 I placed my order in "2 months in advance" prior to my retirement ceremony, and paid in full -$245.00 for the price of the cake. "3" days prior to the event I received a poorly written email basically stating she couldn't fulfill the order due to a decorator taking vacation and one contracting COVID- nothing more nothing less. After sending numerous emails asking for alternatives because clearly where can you go in less than 3 days for a custom order cake? Exactly? Oh did I mention the morning of my ceremony I passed the good ol Artistry of Cakes at Chick-fil-A? That's right! Play Hard....Work Less! Issue #2 I finally received my refund via hard check mailed to me today & noticed it was written for $240.00 not $245.00. I'm still in this belief I was asked if I can change my date-I mean really, you gonna ask a bride to change her wedding date for your cake? Needless to say, I decided to save my 5.00 worth of gas and stay home and warn the next customer who may be considering a purchase at this sketchy establishment. #DOBETTER read more

I love sweets...cakes, cookies, pies, candy and ice cream; you name it, I'll eat it. So when I came across Artistry on Cakes in Belleville, IL. I was so excited especially since they have so many credentials. ~Inducted into the knot hall of fame in 2015 ~A competitor on the Food Network ~Voted best Dessert (Belleville News Democrat) ~Best tasting Cake (Brides of Brides STL Magazine) However... I wasn't that impressed. It's a very small location and when you walk in, it smells like goodness. Beautiful cakes all around on display. I'm not in need of a cake but cupcakes will do. Jumbo gourmet cupcakes ($3.00 each) are served daily. They accept cash and credit. I purchased 3 cupcakes: Vanilla w/Raspberry filling, Red Velvet w/Cream Cheese and Chocolate w/caramel filling. They all look delicious and sound great. The cake didn't crumble (which is good). The buttercream frosting was pipped on clean, the right amount of sauce drizzled on top and just enough filling in the middle. But they taste the same as if I would've make cupcakes. Either I'm great or they're not?!? Not saying it was bad but I really can't see myself purchasing $3 cupcakes when I can make them for cheaper and they taste the same and/or probably better. I did ask about cake pricing and was told the cakes are based per slice. Buttercream is $2.xx per slice and fondant is $3.xx per slice. They don't offer whipped cream toppings but they are open to any type of cake design (as long as it doesn't have a copyright). I only ate 1/4 of each one and wasn't blown away to finish them off. My expectations were way too high! At the end of the day... I'm still looking for a bakery to satisfy my sweet tooth without having to go all the way to Chicago. But if you like pretty looking, average tasting cupcakes... this is the place for you! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this cake!! Not only was it super cute and exactly what I asked for, the best cake I have ever had! I choose the Amoretto, chocolate, and white and all were great! The costumer service is excellent well! I got so many compliments. Even though my baby wasn't a fan of his cake she worked with me to figure what he would like for the additional smash for his photo shoot. Highly recommend! read more

So far this has been an amazing experience! I contacted them to ask about a retirement cake bc I've been in there before and it's the only place around that has really wow'd me. I got an immediate return phone call and we went over my thoughts and by the end we had a sit down scheduled. She listened to everything I was hoping to get and assured me they could handle it. (and this is top-to-bottom custom work from a sketch!) Since then, I've been by twice to try out the cake and filling combinations (She's even creating a "light lemon" layer for me! Who goes that far for their customers?! ) but, I have to say, if I could only eat one cake for the rest of my life, it would be the chocolate with peanut butter filling! LORD! But after reading the other reviews, I may have to swing by and get that amaretto and raspberry. Intriguing! And to know she's going to deliver it to my venue takes all the day-of stress away!!!!!! I wanted to find someone to make a 3 dimensional cake for my dad's 60th birthday and Nancy came through for us! She made a beautiful 3-D semi truck resembling the truck that my father drives for work. Nancy was fabulous to work with and they delivered the cake on the sly for a surprise party too! And, her prices are very reasonable, especially compared to other local companies who compete on the Food Network!! read more

We had Artistry on Cakes do our cupcakes and top tier cake for our reception two weeks ago. She sat us down really listened to what we wanted and sketched it all out for us. We tried the cupcakes and they are the best I have ever had. We knew we we in the right place. We ordered both regular and filled with various fillings such as raspberry and chocolate. They melted in our mouths. Our guests were thrilled and many asked for the name and location. We will use them again and again , first class from the taste of the cupcakes to the staff. We had a 3 tier bridal shower cake made by Artistry On Cakes. First, the cake was the wrong color. Second, the cake begin to collapsed down the middle. Third, we used a cake serving set to cut the cake, the cake begin to fall apart (crumble). Fourth, the taste was bitter and left an after taste. The top layer was suppose to be carrot cake (no carrot, nuts, more like a box spice cake). No compensation or apology, only response was rude and arrogance put on us. Example, we used the wrong cake knife, Paid $300 for shower cake, the reason for the one star did give back deposit on wedding cake. That was a struggle dealing with rude commits and blaming us. The cake I got for my daughters first birthday was not what I ordered. They told me I could leave it out over night and it would be fine. By the time the party got here the next day the icing had shifted down and was cracking and falling off. I payed 120 for her cake and got trash. read more

My husband and I checked out four different places for our wedding cake and ultimately ended up going with Artistry on Cakes. Nancy was able to do exactly what we wanted in terms of design, which, admittedly wasn't that complicated (yet another bakery in the area couldn't accommodate) and her price was right. Most importantly, though, it tasted great. We were able to sample all of the flavors ahead of time, and they tasted just as good the day-of as they did then. We ended up going with chocolate, vanilla with raspberry filling, lemon and amaretto. She offers quite a variety of flavors and has loads of pictures and examples in her shop. This place is awesome! From the tasting to the wedding, things couldn't have been better. The cake was beautiful and delicious. They even made yummy gluten free cupcakes for our guests with special dietary needs. We received a tremendous amount of compliments on both the beauty and the taste of the cake. everyone loved our wedding cake. it was still amazing a year later for our one-year-anniversary (we saved a large slice). i forget the lady's name who runs it but she really is one of the sweetest people i have ever met. her daughter, Dr. Robinson, is a colleague and that whole family is great. and it is absolutely a family affair there. i would recommend them over anyone else. read more

I drove by their store and saw them the sign for carryout gourmet cupcakes and knew I had to stop. My husband and I bought three cupcakes, a butter pecan one, a chocolate and caramel one, and a banana and cream cheese frosting one. OMG! I had the butter pecan one and it is crazy good. This is the best cupcake I ever had. It had a filling on the inside, I think it was caramel. I now have to wait for my hubby to get home to get a taste of one of the other two. If their cakes are anything like their cupcakes, I am a fan. The price per cupcake was 3$, which I thought was not cheap, but it is well worth the money, and then some. read more

Picked out the perfect cake for our wedding, it looked exactly like one of the display cakes that she had in the store (who would have thought she could have messed it up). When my wedding day came, the cake looked nothing like the cake I had ordered, the tiers were uneven, there were not as many rhinestones, the ribbon was not placed on the cake like it should have been and the ribbon color was not even close to matching the color swatch I gave her 6 months beforehand. Lastly, I had ordered raspberry filling which I paid extra for and did not get. Overall, I hated my wedding cake, and I sent her a follow up email explaining what had happened with my cake along with a picture of the actual cake I ordered and a picture of the completely different cake I received. I received no response to the email. I really was excited for my dream wedding cake, which did not meet any of my expectations. My anniversary is coming up and I am not even looking forward to eating the cake. read more
