I finally found the cupcake lady today in Merced! I'm telling you, I'm a cupcake connoisseur and these cupcakes are AMAZING! The frosting is light but sweet...I got the lemon coconut one, amazing! The cake is light and fluffy, the packaging is professional and clean. Love love love.

We recently had a company memorial picnic. The Cupcake Ladies Raquel and Julie were amazing! From reserving the day/truck, choosing flavors along with a gluten free option and were wonderful to work with (first time planning anything of this size and they just were so patient and kind). They brought a fun variety to serve over 150 people. I would hire them again and definitely recommend them at your next event or cupcake needs. Having the truck there just made picnic feel fun and set the tone for a great day.

Very bland cupcakes. It's kinda like a hit or miss...sometimes they're alright, most of the time they're flavorless lol. It sucks because they look good and are so pretty but as we all know looks are deceiving! I purchased all the flavors just to say I've tried them all and to say which my favorite was but I can't even give you that folks...

So the cupcake lady happened to be next to BevMo off Sisk Road, Modesto. I figured I would have the kids pick a cupcake since I got my cupcake in a 16 ounce can. The flavors were limited since it was late in the day. 3pm to be exact. The only flavors left were Mississippi mud, rocky road and two other flavors. I think it was a coconut and lemon type flavor. Don't quote me on it. The kids went with the mud and I went with the rocky road. I don't know how my kids felt about their cake but let me tell you my experience. The cake was somewhat moist. Some dryness. The topping had a mixture of chocolate and marshmallows fluff. The presentation was nice. My take on this cake? It was ok. Would I order this same cake? Nope. I shared with my wife later that night. She was on the fence. Would I try the cupcake lady again, yes. Just a different flavor though. Hopefully I catch her earlier in the day in hopes I get a moist cake. The lady working the car was super nice. Very friendly.

Caramel Vanilla, Pink Champagne & Lemon Coconut. Taste like Betty Crocker Mix.

Honestly? 1.5 stars out of 5. As a Baker myself I'm just going to put it out there and say homemade cakes should not taste like this. Yes, the pink truck is very cute and the cupcakes come in some interesting flavors but they tasted like they were made from a Betty Crocker box mix with canned overly sweet frosting that crumbled and fell apart as you took the baking cup off. At $2.50 a piece they are priced around the same as other cupcake places yet are smaller too. Caramel Vanilla (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-cupcake-lady-turlock?select=ASVpP_xXuCpcJxS20a2PrQ#cJtWAcurAgpQQiiHDXrGBw) - Very salty. I'm all for adding a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor but not dumping a whole load in there so that it ruins the cake. Pink Champagne (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-cupcake-lady-turlock?select=ASVpP_xXuCpcJxS20a2PrQ#DUm3mE4zv8BY23nrEPtEkg) - Dense, no Champagne flavor, just sugar and lot's of it. Lemon Coconut (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-cupcake-lady-turlock?select=ASVpP_xXuCpcJxS20a2PrQ#1QuTibBeyL4Nn70iB1IKUg) - Dense, bland, nice Lemon Curd though. Every cupcake also fell apart when we removed them from the baking cup. Sorry Cupcake lady but adding water to a mix does not a baker make.

We found the truck on Father's Day weekend!

We were on our way to buy pie at Marie Calendars when the Pink Cupcake Lady truck caught our attention. We always like to try out new things. It was Father's Day, so why not? Upon walking up, they greeted us and were friendly. The presentation was clean and all the cupcakes were laid out. The price was advertised for $2.50 per cupcake. There seemed to be combos with prices such as 10 for $25 and a dozen for $30. At 1st I thought, "Wow, let's save money and get the combo!" However, upon using my super computing brain, I realized the prices were all the same, $2.50 per cupcake. Ugh, I hate being Tricked!!! Anyways, we tried out the different type of cupcakes. The notable ones were: Strawberry Cheesecake: I liked the strawberry filling and the strawberry slice on top was fresh. Snickerdoodle: tasted just like the cookie! This was my favorite! Maple Bacon: tasted like maple syrup and had bits of bacon throughout bacon Triple Chocolate: the frosting and cupcake didn't pair well together. Red velvet: tasted under par and boring. All the frost toppings tasted sweet but not overly sweet where I have to take out the topping. The cake tasted less moist than expected. I couldn't place my finger on it but after eating a total of one cupcake (I ate 1/4th of each above) I was unable to eat anymore. The cupcakes were uninventive and I didn't crave for more. 3 solid stars.

My cupcakes in the trash.

I'm so disappointed. These cupcakes are horrible we bought 9 different flavors. Not one of them was good. Keep in mind my family and I have a sweet tooth. I don't even have diabetes and I'm slipping into diabetic a coma. From all the sugar in the frosting. Which I think is made outta lard ( not butter) and a cheap graded power sugar. It had a gritty feeling to it. I took some to my grandparents and they asked me did my 8 year old make them. I wasted $22 ‍ I should've just bought a box of powder sugar a box of cornbread. It would've been a hell of a lot cheaper. Don't make the same mistake I did. Looks can be deceiving!! Advice- If you're tempted to buy some cupcakes from this truck. I advise you buy one to taste test. I promise you you will not spend another dollar on one after you taste it.

My family loves The Cupcake Lady. We got to a fundraiser early today to be first in line- they are that good! The filled cupcakes are exquisite, especially the lemon coconut. We definitely follow her on Instagram to make sure we don't miss when she is in Merced.

Didn't care for it. Bland cake and oily frosting. $2.50 for a small, bland cupcake.

The frosting is grease and sugar. Cake is not yummy, just a cheap bakery style and small. Would rather pay more for quality product.

Big Vic's BBQ - Delish!!!!

Big Vic's BBQ

Ordered the smoked Ham for Thanksgiving, it was DELICIOUS!!…read moreI'm a huge ham fan and this was the best! Great smoke flavor and not too sweet! Sorry no picture, it was devoured too quickly!

Big Vic's has definitely improved since my last visit. The meat and barbecue are excellent, and I…read morereally enjoy that part of the meal. That said, I still feel the sides are subpar. I usually end up getting the cornbread because the other options don't really appeal to me. On today's visit, I also noticed the price for the sliders didn't match what was listed on the board. When I politely mentioned it to the cashier, she didn't respond or acknowledge it, which made the interaction feel awkward and dismissive. I wasn't trying to make an issue out of it; I was simply pointing out that the posted price should match what customers are charged. If the sliders are $8.78, put $8.78 on the board. If they're $8.24, put $8.24 on the board. It may seem minor, but inaccurate pricing can come across as careless or even dishonest, especially if it happens repeatedly. I also think the front register needs stronger customer service. The person at the register is representing the business, and when a customer brings up a legitimate concern, it should be acknowledged professionally. Having someone more mature or better trained handling checkout would make a big difference. Overall, the barbecue is moving in the right direction, but the sides, posted pricing, and customer service still need attention.
