I came to visit my mom in Turlock from the bay and was really craving some valley taco truck. I got there around 9 PM and chose Elvias because it had no customers when I arrived and hidalguense was packed. I didn't think anything of it because usually the food is good there but I was wrong. I ordered a supreme burrito and got a regular burrito for $10 which is the price of the supreme burrito. No sour cream and barely any cheese. They also did not include any radish and only put two napkins for 3 orders, my burrito, my moms 2 tacos and my her husbands 4 tacos. The food was extremely greasy . My moms tortillas looked like they oiled them up and threw them in the microwave. My burrito was literally dripping so much oil that I couldn't eat it without getting grossed out. We will not be coming back here, it is $2 overpriced for extremely poor quality food. It's kinda of sad because I read the paragraph about the founder of the taco truck and they're not delivering her dream. It is possible that it was just the young worker but I will not take my chances and waste my money again. read more

Horrible service from the girl with the attitude (We all know who she is) ever since she started working there things went down hill fast. She is incredibly rude, messes up our orders all the time, and I just know when I'm ordering shes not listening. The guys running the truck before her were awesome and friendly but shes a living nightmare. The food....what the heck prompted them to change their burrito recipe. No cilantro and grilled sliced onions??? Disgusting every bite came with a string of onions that were par cooked, soaked in sour cream it looked like a dirty diaper. I ordered beef tacos with green sauce because the red is too hot for my mom, the cook screwed up and put red sauce but decided it was a good idea to cover it with green sauce, not sure if he thought we were stupid enough to not notice....burritos were not "grilled" as advertised. Chicken was bone dry. This place needs to get rid of the trash, clean up shop and go back to their old ways. You can't have someone who screws up every order, has an attitude, and lies to cover up their mistakes as the face of your business. Hands down, one of the worse burritos I've ever eaten!! I've never had a burrito so greasy on the outside that it soaks through to the inside of the burrito. I've looked for this truck in the past and have never found it until tonight. Prices are fair and the service was reasonably friendly. With two carne asada tacos and a regular burrito for my buddy, plus Jarritos and Dr. Pepper, it wasn't cheap or expensive--just what I'd expect. With some folding tables and chairs, they were ready for a small crowd, along with the other two trucks in the parking lot. Take this for what it is--they're not as good as what you'll find in San Jose--there you'll find the best in the country, at least, for my taste. However, these are probably the best from a truck anywhere along state road 99, and I'd put them up again La Costa in Manteca any day, but then, those are walking distance from home. read more

Tacos are my favorite at this truck! Tacos are only $1.50, and I usually get 3 with carne asada (steak) and ask for extra red salsa(no charge). The atmosphere here is like any normal taco truck location, outside, and hot. There are lots of flies trying to land on your food, but there is a large shade covering tables for people to sit. The super burritos are my second go to with extra salsa and costs $7! The people are friendly, and speak both Spanish and English and accommodate your orders if you have any changes in an order. There are 4 taco trucks in the same parking lot, but Elvia's has the quickest service and takes card along with a Stanislaus state 10% off your order. I really recommend this taco truck! Food was not great! We ordered 2 tacos with salsa, they were greasy and forgot the salsa. My quesadilla was not good, the cheese wasn't even melted. I could see the cold shredded cheese. The very bottom of my quesadilla was soggy, mind you there was no salsa on that either. Not sure where all the sogginess came from, maybe the pile of lettuce on the top of it. Good place for a quick and cheap meal. First of the trio of taco trucks I tried in this lot. Food: To make a fair comparison I tried a lengua and carnitas taco from all three trucks. To be honest they were all very similar. The lengua here was delicious and juicy. The carnitas was extremely flavorful almost a little too salty but was a little dry. My friend got the quesadilla supreme with no meat. It was good but overloaded with sour cream. Service: The server at the window was polite and the food came out at an appropriate time. Location: the awning is nice for people who want to eat on the location but it's still a little too hot if you go at lunch. There is a trash can located by each truck and a recycling can. Went there this afternoon for a quick lunch! The girl helping was friendly. She was in work mode. It was busy, and it was New Year's Day. She was pleasant when we placed our order and was nice when I asked for extra radishes and lemons. The disappointment was the cooks. Cheese, when we repeatedly said no cheese. This is the best taco truck I think I have ever had. Forget the term "roach coach" because going to Elvia's I've seen nothing but perfection in their food.
