I love their cupcakes. I'm a total sucker for their creamy chocolate frosting. It's ridiculously good. They also have a gluten free sugar cookie that's solid. Classic pink frosting, sprinkles, the whole nostalgic thing. The staff is always really kind and helpful, and the shop itself is small and cute with a couple tables if you want to sit and enjoy your treat. I only gave it four stars because even though the gluten free items they do make are divine, I just wish there were a few more options. I usually call ahead to make sure they still have gf items left. That said, their gf cupcakes are honestly some of the best I've had. read more

Wow.....just delicious. I'm always looking for the next place that kicks something "up a notch" and this is the place. I tried these cupcakes at my cousin's wedding and I needed to try every flavor. I'm not big on desserts that are "too sweet" or "too much," but these have a perfect ratio of everything. This is a cute little bakery. One of the things that I really like is that they have two sizes for every flavor of cupcake, one small and one large. The small was the perfect size! They have a lot more flavors available than what's listed on their website. I'm assuming they have some staple flavors, then rotate the others. Most of the cupcakes had a flavored filling in them, which I liked! My fiancé did think that there was too much frosting, but I enjoyed the amount. read more

We are from San Diego here for work. Walking back from a local restaurant on our last night in town, we saw this place. Walked by the window and put on the brakes. We went inside and immediately the smell was inviting. We were greeted by friendly staff. The cupcakes looked amazing. We werent expecting much. We purchased 2 cupcakes each. Almond Joy, French Toast, Strawberry Shortcake, Stoopwaffle, Blueberry and Molten. The employee boxed them in 2 packs. We went back to our rooms and within minutes the texts were coming in!! Yum!! I attended an event and had the best cake pop ever! I asked the host where they came from and she said The Cupcake Shoppe. I knew I needed to order some. We decided to do this for my daughters 16th birthday along with the cake. I ordered 3 dozen cakes pops, a dozen each of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. The total came to around 76 dollars. I don't remember exact. They were made in time and ready when we went to pick them up. They looked super cute and all the teenagers were excited for them. They were all consistent in size and looked very well done. They tasted so delicious!! I could have eaten them all. They were the perfect ratio of cake to outer shell and just great! My only reason for four stars is we only got chocolate and vanilla-no strawberry which made me said because that's the flavor we were most excited for. We kept biting in to them looking for strawberry but no luck. That didn't stop us from eating them but it would have been even better had there been strawberry. I walked into the store earlier this week with a mask on. The lady working was not wearing a mask and I asked if I needed to wear one. She said, "Oh I'll put mine on then." Made me wonder if they bake with masks or not. Honestly the cupcakes were not as good as a cake we just ate from Costco. They have as much icing on them as cake. I've gone here a few times over the years that this shop...er shoppe has been open. The cupcakes are always tasty, have a good density and a good crumble. These are not super light cupcakes like the ones you find in the grocery store but more of the density that you find in quality handmade ones. The ones that they dip in chocolate are quite fun as most places around here don't do that. I think one of my favorite cupcakes (over time) of theirs is better than sunshine. It's a PC version of another name and although I don't think it's better than "sunshine" I do enjoy it :) They offer both large and regular sized cupcakes. They also offer some cookies. Their flavors change daily. If you're looking for gourmet cupcakes they're a good choice. It seems a lot of gourmet cupcake places rely mostly on their frosting being what is good but here the whole cupcake is good. read more

I got the cookies n cream cupcake, the coconut cream cupcake, and a red velvet cake pop. Cake pop: 6/10. It was good and moist, but it didnt have a ton of flavor imo. Better than nothing. Cookies n cream: 4/10. It's a chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream. It tasted okay, and it wasnt too sweet, but thats not cookies n cream lol. You cant make cookies n cream without using any oreo. Coconut cream: 10/10. O. M. G. WOW. It was LIFE CHANGINGLY good! I didnt care for the cream in the center, but im not a fan of whipped cream. It had a ton of flavor, had an incredible texture, and the BUTTERCREAM. WOW. It was well salted to balance all the sweetness. I could have eaten a whole scoop of it, and I'm not that type of person. If you like coconut AT ALL, you HAVE to try it. Based off my experience, the flavored cupcakes are probably better than the usual chocolate or vanilla. Which isnt too bad. Just know that going in, or you might be disappointed. read more
