This barbershop actually decided to stay open rather than close for 4th of July. To me that is a great service to the community. The barber that cut my hair was Stephanie and we had good conversation about music & food. The establishment is clean and spaced out neatly. I had a 9:00 am appointment with Robert, received an appointment confirmation via email. I showed up on time and the shop was closed. I waited 20 minutes past my appointment time, tried calling and emailing and no one ever responded. Can't believe they operate this way, what a joke of a business! Best haircut I've ever gotten. Period. I could be mistaken, but I don't think I'm the Cutting Lounge's typical client. I've got a jew-fro that I like to get scissor cut to make me look business professional. No clipper work, no fades, nothing of the sort. I came into Ft. Lauderdale on a Sunday off of a cruise only to find that I had a family emergency in Boca and that I had an interview in Miami the next day. Jew-Fro'd out, I needed to head up to Boca ASAP to deal with the emergency, and then I had to find a place to clean me up for my interview. But, being a Sunday, open barber shops in Boca were few and far between- the Cutting Lounge was it. I walked in to find two barbers, and two clients- both guys in the chairs getting their lined up and cleaned up. Both seemed like regulars, and both walked out with solid looking hair. My fro did not fit in. One guy leaves, I grab his seat, explain what I want, and for the next 45 minutes get the most thought out, balanced and patient scissor cut of my life. Every single person I have seen since the cut has told me its the best I've ever gotten. Went out and rocked the interview the next day. Total cost: $16. You can't beat that. Super friendly barbers, great service, great prices. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Boca. read more

This place has a few young guys cutting hair ( there is actually a girl that does pedicures and manicures also) and they don't mind cracking an indeecent joke. If you can get over that and the lack of sweeping up after every client, you may like the place. They do take great care to to make sure that every line is straight and every little hair is clipped. Im originally from plantation and just moved up to Boca. I don't usually switch barbers but I'm tired of making the drive to get my hair cut. so after talking to many friends Up here, this was the only place that does legit hair cuts like blow outs, Etc. If you want hair cuttery type of hair styles I'm sure they would Be good too, but anyway. I went and had a great experience. The guy who cut my hair was great and took this time (ask for Carl!). The haircut was decently priced. 15-16$ for a cut which is usually the going rate where I'm from. The shop had a great dynamic with the barbers making jokes and sports on in the background. Looks like this is going to be the place I get my haircuts now... I'm new to the Boca/Deerfield area (from Miami), and I've been looking for a barber for about a month now. I've gone to two other places in that time (refer to my other reviews), and this place beats them out because of quality cut and most importantly proximity to my place. I'm African American and it doesn't really appear to be many black barbers around here. These guys have barbers of different ethnicities so you should be fine. Now honestly my only gripe about this place is the price... For a basic 10 minute cut it cost me $15, and unfortunately that seems to be the going price. I'm 29 yrs. old and never in my life have I paid more then $12 (excluding tip). When I was in Miami, I was getting it cut for $8!!!!!!! I commented in my last review about another barber shop that no one had their barber licenses posted up. Now I don't necessarily think that's important, but maybe because I'm getting "old," but Cutting Lounge sure did have their licenses posted. Oh yeah lastly, +1 for accepting credit/debit cards! IDK why some barber shops still don't accept cards. read more

I thought it was a barber shop but apparently it is a butcher shop. The barber if I can call him that made little cuts in my skin on the side of my far-head with his straight razor. These guys do a nice job, attention to detail is appreciated. You can get a haircut cheaper at the chains for less but you get what you pay for. Don't expect any bells and whistles, its a straight up barber shop for men. There are some magazines and an XBOX hooked up to play while waiting. There is also a parking lot so you don't have to park on the street. The staff is friendly and both guys that cut my hair were great, ill be going back again. read more

Four years ago when I moved back to Boca I searched everywhere for the "Right" Old fashioned Barber,that knew what they were doing and gave a great cut. After 5 barbers I found this place. They do give a great haircut, and the price is good. No appts needed or so the ad said, and it held true for most of my time there. I wasn;t going to write a review,but after finding another and Final Barber In Boca I wanted to tell others that the Appt., thing is NOT true,especially when it comes to holidays, and if one of their friends shows up and your ahead of them. I went last Thansgiving like a week before, and asked about making an appointment, cause I knew college kids would be home. Was told since I was a "Regular" and I was getting my haircut days before there would be no problem. I was wrong, the place was packed. I came back every day for 2 days, and finally was told that they can;t take me, that I should have made the appt, after I told them,they told me I didn't. So they sat me down. The wait was an hour. NP. When the hour was up it was my turn, then one of their friends came in, and it was like old homeweek, and I got pushed away, and felt like crap. After going there for like three years, and always giving a $10.00 tip to the guy that cut my hair, I got treated like crap. I would never go back again. Jjust not a fair place, and they could have cared less. The people that give this place a great score must be friends of theirs? For I am sure they have ruined many a good guys day. read more

I've been getting my haircut by Warren since he opened up. 5 almost 6 years later I wouldn't go anyplace else. Moved to Delray and I still make the trip down to Palmetto every time to make sure my cut is always perfect. He's gone from one chair to 6 and now you can get a manicure and a pedicure for your girl while you get your haircut. If he wasn't doing something right he wouldn't have expanded to the store next door to him. The most important thing about my experience at The Cutting Lounge is the fact that I looked GREAT after my cut with Warren. Throughout the session I could tell that he knows what he is doing, what is necessary to get a sharp symmetrical cut that brings out the best look on my head. I LOVE this place! Warren, the guy who runs the place, is the only stand-up comedian cutting hair. I mean, he is HILARIOUS. It's also, strangely- in a good way-- integrated. I mean there's old white guys, young black guys, middle aged Asian guys, and even a MILF once in a while, with her son in tow. And they give great cuts! So if you're ever stuck in Boca Raton, this is a little slice of New York. Not much of that going on, in Florida, if you know what I mean. Very pleasant experience! read more
