Seriously, wow! I helped my husband schedule a haircut as it had been many months since his last one. One of the unfortunate things that happen when you move is that you lose your favorite person who cut your hair just the way you want it. So, you stall and stall and you keep waiting until you can't wait anymore. My husband was beyond elated with how Nelson cut his hair. He said that even though his previous barber was really great, Nelson was absolutely incredible. "This is like THE best haircut I have had in a very long time," he remarked, and my husband is the pickiest person I know when it comes to cutting hair. Only two barbers (the owner and an employee) so not a lot of noise (very relaxing). I got my cut from Nelson, and not only did he do a great job but he was a pleasure to chat with. After seeing a few positive reviews on the yelp website I decided to try out his services. First visit the haircut was acceptable as he followed my wishes and styled it nicely. On my next visit I became a little anxious as he was ready to start the haircut before asking how I wanted it cut. After I instructed him to keep the back long and the sides over the top of my ear. After the haircut was finish the back was completely cut shorter than I requested. and the sides were cut too short above my ear. Because of this I will not be a returning client. read more

Nelson is a true master of his craft and gentleman. After having to find a new barber due to work and school schedules, I stumbled upon this shop on good ole Yelp. At first I wasn't sure where to park or enter, but once you make it through the keypad on the front door it's self explanatory. The shop is in a cozy suite, down a hallway, suitable for living if you were to ask me. But don't let the size fool you! Nelson had everything needed for a complete haircut. Which included an autoclave machine for sterilization, flat screen TV, circulating fan, hair sink, and drawers equipped with everything needed. The price was a standard $35 not including my tip, but let me tell you it was well worth it! My haircut was definitely 2 weeks overdue so I looked like an Asian Chia Pet, but was done start-to-finish within an hour, and not ALL barbers can thoroughly cut Asian hair. This not only included the cut, but also a relaxing shampoo, and hot shave w/ straight razor. Like most of us guys, I have had my hair cut by local establishments, chain shops, places with one chair and places with a dozen chairs. Of them all, Sonnies is far and away the best. He does such a good job, I followed him. More than a barber, he is also a also a barber trainer, so he has been trusted to groom (yes, pun intended) newly hired barbers. He cuts hair exactly as requested, and it is perfect every time. His shaves are close and styled to perfection. And if asked, he will make recommendations based on what might look good on you. He can carry a good conversation or stay silent, based on your desires and mood at the time. Sonnies is the only place in south Florida, to my knowledge, that carries Truefitt & Hill products. Yes, the same Truefitt & Hill from England. They are top-of-the line products, but he will not push them on you. Rather, he uses them as part of his services, and is glad to sell to you if asked. Not pushy at all, which is a breath of relief. The place is clean, relaxing and I will continue to go there for years.
