He followed us around and it was really uncomfortable. Half the store was under construction so it's not like we could walk away. I was very taken aback and explained I was only looking at the shoe design since the box was closed and we didn't get to even pick them out. The website interface was a bit difficult to navigate while browsing dresses and you should call to make sure they have the dress you like in stock before making an appointment. They have a diverse selection of dresses in a reasonable price range of $1000-$2000 with some being more expensive than that. They offer cheaper dresses during their sales or sometimes you can buy a sample dress directly off the rack. I found the price of my dress reasonable, and the alterations including hemming and bustling with Sandy was a pleasant experience (although I think she has since left Stella's). The best part of Stella's is that the appointments are free! Most of the other wedding dress shops that I visited had a $35-$50 appointment fee. The service was mostly very good, the lady from my first appointment (tall redhead) was very peppy and helped me with clipping my dresses in and getting in and out of them. The lady I had during my second appointment was less enthusiastic but she was still alright. Once you select and order the dress, you can follow the status on the website and they also call you to remind you about your appointments and let you know when your wedding dress has arrived. All in all, I visited 5 wedding dress shops and ended up saying yes to the dress at Stella's!

The other pair was new, but I had tripped on some uneven sidewalk and scraped the leather on the front of the shoe fairly deep. Both needed shines as well. I got both pairs back in a few days for $25 and they look good as new. I was hesitant to take my shoes anywhere in York because it takes me forever to find shoes that I like and the couple of places in town had 2- 3-star ratings. I'm extremely glad I drove down to Dallastown and gave this shop a chance.

We needed a little flap of leather added to my son's baseball glove, and after researching online baseball forums, everyone said that any reputable shoe/leather repair place would be able to do it. My husband sent off a message to Contino's along with photos of what we needed, but we never received a response. We took a chance and drove to the shop with the glove and photographs. We were greeted by a pleasant woman and we explained what we wanted. Without even standing up or looking at the glove, the man beside her said, "Oh yeah....I don't deal with those." I looked surprised and he continued with, "I'd have to deconstruct the entire glove and it's too much work." And that was it. I understand that he didn't want to take on the job, but I found his response to be very short and cold, considering that our family made a special trip there because of the lack of response to our initial inquiry. We've always heard great things about Contino's but won't be taking our business there in the future. :(
