The Cinnamon Tree is an okay dance store. We've shopped there off and on since our girls started dancing. Several years ago, I was highly irritated to race there after work to get new ballet flats for a Christmas performance only to arrive and see them closed during their posted buisness hours. Tonight I stopped by at 6:45 again to quickly grab something before class. And again, the lights were off and the doors were locked. I checked their hours on Google, I checked their page on Facebook. Nothing. Other dance stores in the area are open their posted hours. I'll be sticking to them going forward. Update: while I am sorry to hear the owner is struggling with her health, it is unrealistic to expect that all (and potential) customers will be on her mailing list or even that they will check social medial channels before heading to the shop. Additionally, as I stated, I did check the business's Facebook page from the parking lot; there was nothing posted. read more

I brought my daughter here for new ballet shoes after struggling to figure out sizing online. Parking is easy (located in small strip of stores with a lot) and the store was well stocked for its size. The employee was quickly able to figure out my daughter's size and made sure they fit. I thought prices were decent for a local shop; there was a rack of in season dance dresses for 40% off in a variety of sizes. My daughter called to ask if the Herndon store had her specific brand and size of pointe shoes and was answered very rudely with a "I am SO busy right now, but if give me your name and I will call you back." Which is fine, but she never actually did. I ordered a pair of point shoes for my wife for Christmas. Their staff shipped it to a different address than what I had put on my receipt so I never received the shoes. Instead of trying to make it right, they have strung me along for over three months and tried to say that my address was not in the USPS system. Considering that I get other mail and packages, this is a flat out lie. They maybe a good store to shop from locally if you can go directly to them but as far as ordering anything from them, do not trust them. I am still waiting to hear back from Mr. Kenny, but I don't think it will happen. At this point, they have stolen my money and because of their mistake, I never received my gift for my wife. This is an excellent dance shop that we have been going to for years. Their associates spend the time to accurately size the ballet and jazz shoes. Everyone is so friendly at the shop and a pleasure to work with. The Cinnamon Tree has other dance accessories such as leotards, bags, and smaller accessories. As for the pricing it's very fair based on other online prices. I would highly recommend this store! read more

Beware that this shop cares about serving dance studios, not end customers. We were told by our dance studio to order from here because that's where they get their uniforms, and we did so. We were told that the leotard would arrive in 6-8 weeks, and 3 months later when we called to cancel the order because it had still not arrived (honestly my daughter has probably outgrown it in the meantime), we were told that a refund is not possible because it's a special order. I understand the constraints of the supply chain and special ordering, but wished that this shop was a little bit more empathic and focused on delivering good customer experience, which is unfortunately not its priority. read more

Loved this dance store!! Super cute shop with a lot of cute dance clothes. We came in just to get some half soles but ended up with some cute shorts and some contemporary socks as well. Excellent service to kids and toddlers. Very patient, great selection of items. Prices reasonable, store beautifully decorated. SUCH a better experience than ordering 3 different sizes of ballet shoes off of Amazon and finding that none of them fit! Just go here to get your dance items, you'll spend your time much more wisely. They have a nice mirror & barre set up so that dancers can be on a "mini stage" to see how they feel in toe shoes etc. Bonus, there is a Habitat for Humanity Restore right nearby if you're looking for fun decor or furniture finds. read more

Rude and unprofessional at every experience. The absolute worst local, small- business experience. For years, I've gone of my way to bring my business to this shop for these very reasons but will stop because of the condescending, impolite and downright mean treatment of customers. I walked in and was asked immediately if I had an appointment (which I haven't needed in the last 10 years) and I said no so I could come back at another time. They then started to reprimand me for not having an appointment and ask where my mother was (I'm almost 18 years old) and my mother doesn't dance, I do. They asked what my shoe problem was, and I explained and they responded so condescendingly I was shocked. I said I would come back another time if it was more convenient even though I was the only customer in the store. This experience was horrible and I will be definitely be going back to barre and pointe in Leesburg as the service is 100x better. Sure, we can order most items online at discount dance supply retailers. But this place makes you feel like you are the best and most important dancer in the world. I love exploring the store and fining random goodies. Be it a cute leotard or shoe accessory for teaching, we love supporting this store. I went in today to get jazz shoes for my son. I found the 2 ladies there to be courteous, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent attention, she pulled out many shoes and discussed the pros and cons of each one. One thing I do not like is that there are few price tags on items. I don't want to be asking someone for the price of each thing I pick up. The prices are of course higher than they would be from an online retailer, but again- you're paying for the individualized attention. I'm glad this place is so close to my house. We took our daughter here several times for ballet shoes, stockings, hair nets, and a leotard. Its a tiny specialty shop that still manages to always have lots of friendly help (and lots of customers). The store is still run by the same nice lady that owned it when my sister was my daughter's age! We've never had a bad experience and recommend it to anyone looking for dance supplies. read more

Awful experience. I just shopped there for pointe shoes. The owner is new (just took over this week )but very rude. Hopefully the shoes fit and I don't have to go back. This is the only time I shopped there , I will never go back. She talked to me and my daughter in a very rude and impolite way. I've been taking my daughter to this shop for several years and though it's a long drive for us, it's always a pleasant experience. The owner is such a beautiful gem and her employees are always very nice. When my daughter went for her first pair of pointe shoes, the ladies made her feel special and they were a big part of a proud day for her. They have great stock and knowledge. I needed a pair of ballet shoes for myself, so recently ordered online, which I now regret. Even though I used the manufacturer's sizing chart, they are too small, so the discount I may have gotten online and the convenience in not making the drive are now moot. I will be going to Cinnamon Tree tomorrow and paying return postage on the other shoes. CT is holding the right slippers for me.
