I really don't know much about their work because I have not been able to get that far with them. I called to get an estimate on planting a new tree for our big Corporate Company and set an appointment with a gentleman to come look and give us an estimate. He did show up when he said he would. He did call me back 2 days after the visit and said he would keep in touch with me but he had to locate the type of tree we were needing. He said once he found it he would get me an estimate. This was in July and it is now November and I have not heard back. I attempted to contact Davey Tree 3 times since the beginning of October to question about the estimate and if they were going to be able to help me. All three times I have been told that someone would be in touch. Crickets.... They must have enough business that they do not need mine. read more

I used Davy tree service in Greensboro NC. They are horrible. They tore up my fence and yard. I call my contact person Billy and told him what happened and his replay was I am going on vacation an can come by August 3rd. That is totally unacceptable. We have 3!dogs that need to be in the back yard. When I contacted the district manger he said he would be out the next day. He did show up but said the gate was already broken. Which it wasn't. The had to get into the back yard. How on earth do I get tire tracks in my back yard if you didn't mess with the gate. I have pictures of all these issues. They are in my opinion a very dishonest company. I would never recommend or us them again. If I could give them zero stars I would. Bad company. read more

Great service provider! They did extensive work at my new house in Greensboro last summer. They removed some trees and trimmed others back, improving the appearance of the landscape and safety of the trees relative to the house. Why did we pick Davey? 1.- They were they price competitive, 2.- they applied their expertise to identify another tree that was near our house, was (unknown to us) structurally compromised (by an invasion of ants & a 10-ft. split), and therefore threatened the house even more than the 2 trees we had identified as needing to be felled, & 3.- they educated us on the need to insist that any tree company have both 3rd party liability insurance and workman's compensation insurance (which specifically stated the location of the trees to be felled). Andy Stone was the Arborist who reviewed the job scope & quoted the price. Very professional & helpful. We wanted 2 each 90-ft. trees felled that were overhanging our house & leaning at an awkward angle. The work was done with a heavy, 70ft. bucket lift. They did a super job, bringing all trees down starting from the top, and concluding without incident or damage. We couldn't have asked for a more professional outfit. called for estimate. they came out when they said they would, but the person must have been new. he said he did not know how to divide the estimate up for the insurance company until after the work was done. As in removing from house verses general brush removal. read more

We used Davey Tree for our lawn care for a year with no problem at all. However, earlier this year it became clear that either they forgot to weed treat half of our yard, or the equipment malfunctioned and half did not get treated. When someone FINALLY came to look at the problem, the manager offered to treat it, but would not admit an error on their part (he even admitted he would be embarrassed to put a Davey Tree sign in the yard at that time, it looked so bad). Everyone I dealt with was so rude that I finally told them to cancel the contract and never come back (at one point the manager was yelling at me in my driveway!). It was REALLY bad. Later that day, the manager called and offered me a year of free lawn care if I would give them another chance. The experience was so bad, initially I refused, but he seemed sincere so finally I agreed. However, now they continuously send me bills for this "free" lawn care. I have called their office at least four times, and each time was assured it would never happen again, yet it always does. Also, if I call and leave a message, no one will call back. I have spoken with at least 4 different people at the company, and they are all like this. I strongly encourage you to stay away from them. read more
