This time it had some height and was layered. The lasagna had a generous amount of beef and cheese- it was delicious and I enjoy the sauce they use/make. I opted to get the pasta fagioli soup. It was out of this world! Packed with beans, pasta, carrots, and celery. The broth was savory and mouth watering. It was excellent. My meal came with hot rolls which is made with their dough. I loved this and it lasted me a couple meals. This meal was picked up from the drive through. The help is friendly and also ordered a traditional canoli for dessert.

Today, I had occasion to be passing Frackville along the I-81 corridor and decided to see whether, by chance, the restaurant was still there. To my good fortune, it was! Although I've enjoyed pasta dishes at OIP in the past, today I tried something new - an eggplant sandwich, sans the tomato sauce. I was a bit leery at first, but the owner convinceed me that it was a unique departure from the traditional tomato sauce and that many of their customers liked it. I tried it, I loved it! Breaded/fried eggplant with melted cheese (provolone?), on a fresh baked roll, topped with lettuce, tomato, onion and Italian dressing. Mama mia! It was delicious.
