Wow. The service here is amazing! The owners are so nice and willing to answer all of our questions. They even helped us during their off hours when I messaged them on Facebook. We had a sick fish and instead of waiting for work hours to reply, they messaged back and asked us to meet them at the store. He gave detailed instructions on what to do and even wrote it down... which is super helpful as I tend to forget easily. If they don't have what you need, they will tell you where you can go instead of just saying "no, sorry". I can't say enough good things about these people! They are the best! The store is not very big but has an amazing selection of fish, live plants, and coral. The prices are prety decent considering it's a small business. We live on the other side of town, but now that we found The Deep, we go right past the other pet stores for the best service and it is 100% worth it! read more

I wish I could give ten stars! Mike and his team are incredibly helpful and friendly. Whether you're a complete beginner with a goldfish or a long time veteran with a coral reef tank, these guys know how to take care of you. In the 3 or 4 years I have been going to The Deep I have never left disappointed. While sometimes a little forward, Mike always has your fishes best interest in mind. He makes an effort to learn everything about you and your tank, and will never sell you something that could harm your ecosystem. I have bought and stocked numerous tanks with supplies and fish from The Deep, and have referred numerous friends to them as well. Nobody has been disappointed and the team there will always go above and beyond to make sure you leave happy. The Owner gave poor suggestions for pairing fish and was reluctant to trade fish back the same day. The 2 fish I ended up with both had health problems and with no return policy I lost out completely. The owner was also not professional about interacting with customers, at least Petco and pet smart have a return policy and they are forth coming with advice on which fish can go together in the tank. Prices are also higher at the deep. I Don't recommend this store at all! read more

The Deep - Fish swims only on occasion and has trouble with movement, struggles to swim for food - Aquarium Services Near Me - Redding, California

Don't use this place for anything but maybe buying little fish. We hired him to fix a small pond pump. He told me a couple of hours maybe 3 at $80 an hour. ( which is ridiculous) He knew we were out of town when he took the old pump out. He said it took him an hour but it was exactly 15 minutes. (Watched it all on camera) I understand driving time and to buy the plumbing he broke but... he was saying this small job was going to be another 2 hours on top of his hour which was only 15 minutes in reality. I called him out on this so he refused to finish the job. ( wouldn't even reason with me on the phone, just kept yacking) I paid him for the pump and a his hour and he refused to give us the receipt for the pump we paid for. The warranty isn't valid without it. I haven't dealt with such a dis-honest person in a long time. He really needs to stick to just selling fish. I hope he can't screw people over too much with that. Paid $400 but pond is still broken. read more

This is by far my favorite store to buy stuff for our reef Tank. Mike the owner is always honest about what we need and don't need and is very knowledgeable . He makes time to answer our questions. The prices are the lowest in town and the rewards program is awesome. They keep track of what we buy and after a certain amount is spent we get a discount. He has helped us with everything from a deep cleaning of our tank to relocating and then putting our tank back when we changed out the flooring in our house.
