Had random people use a key to unlock my door at 12:30 at night. When I contacted management they acted like it was no big deal and even shamed me saying I didn't have my door locked. My car in my assigned spot has been vandalized 2 separate times. Once with spray paint! And the office told me there were no security cameras even after I had a police report. The security here obviously doesn't do anything. Not to mention security used to walk the hallways and poof! No more. Surprising to me especially after there was a shooting in the hallway outside my apartment! There's a constant buzzing noise that restarts every two days in the hallway that I can hear all the way into my apartment down the hall. The office has lost multiple of my packages, it's always dirty, loud, and smells. I truly can't wait until my lease is over. read more

This was the worst experience of my life living here for the past two years. I should have known how living here was going to go upon seeing the state that my apartment was in when it was first given to me. There were bb pellets everywhere, curly little black hairs in every single area of my room AND my kitchen (cabinets, fridge, etc.), a carpet that was so destroyed and filled with cigarette residue the minute you stepped on it your socks turned a different color, electrical outlets that had been ripped out, and everything in between. After spending DAYS cleaning my disgusting unit, my car was soon broken into and destroyed. The window was smashed and my steering wheel was ripped to shreds, but did the property do anything to help me? Nope! Continently there are no cameras in the garage at all (the gated garage that is ALWAYS open/broken so anyone can just come right in) and the cameras that they do have in the hallways don't work, I had a friend have a break in where a homeless woman had broken into her unit and the camera that was in the hallway right next to her door "wasn't on because it didn't pick up any suspicious activity". The lack of security is a direct reflection of the lack of professionalism that the leasing company has for its residents. Signs are ripped off walls, trash is EVERYWHERE, people screaming down the hallways at all hours of the night, people kicking apartment doors, anything you can think of goes down in this property yet management doesn't bat an eye. The "security" is a joke, there was a pool party going on at 1 am on a Thursday and after calling security to see if they can get them to quiet down, their response to me included how the people in the pool don't listen to them so they can't do anything else and I should call the police instead. How helpful! I lived here for the convenience of it being on campus, but nothing is worth how horrible these apartments are. The most disgusting apartment complex in the entire city, you're better off living at ANY of the other options off of Maryland Pakrway. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! CHOOSE ECHO!!! This place is horrendous. The management changed in summer 2025 from bad to worse. The leasing office called the police on me and then harassed me for an hour and a half when I was trying to get to my unit. The hallways are always filled with trash, puddles of mystery liquid, and horrible smells. There are dead bugs smeared on the walls and floors. The janitor comes once a month and only mops the floor, doesn't clean the walls or pick up any trash in the parking garage. Maintenance is aggressive and rude, some of them do not speak English, and they will enter your apartment unannounced at ANY hour of the night. As of last summer when the management changed, the wifi provided by the apartment complex changed. Now it constantly lags, cuts out, and is insanely hard to set up on your device. My daughter moved into the degree in 2022 and was there for 3 years. The first couple of years everything was great but slowly started to see a decline in the security and maintenance of the building. The gate to the garage had a lot of issues and once you get passed that gate the doors to access the building do not require a key fob. While sitting there waiting for my daughter I witnessed so many people waiting for someone to come open the gate so they can walk in.  I was able to overlook all that until my daughters car was broken into while she was away for the weekend at a school event. Someone broke the back passenger window to her car broke the plastic under the steering wheel attempting to steal it. The damage was very visible to anyone walking through the parking garage, especially because the car was on the first ramp leading up to the other floors of the parking garage. Anyone walking, driving, or monitoring that area would have seen it the way the car was facing, not to mention the glass all over the floor. They claim there is security on site but yet no one reported the break in. We contacted campus police to report the break in and coincidentally there are no cameras in that part of the parking garage.  I attempted to reach out to the leasing office and was told things like that happen, making it seem like this wasn't the first time something like this had happened. I requested a call back from a property manager and nothing. I emailed and called several times and never received a call back from anyone. On a last attempt I emailed school police, UNLV housing and the Degree and the only people who answered was UNLV housing saying they are not affiliated so they had nothing to do with the matter. Needless to say do not pay the $50.00+ a month for parking in the building you're better off parking across the street at the parking structure that is covered with security cameras. The rooms are nice and my daughter did enjoy her time there but I can't get passed the security issues there. The hallways also can be maintained better, dirty floors broken emergency exit signs. It's definitely gone down over the years.  The pool is also another issue that was constantly shut down because of broken glass. The only reason I am giving it a two star is just because of the convenience to get to the campus and the fact that you do get your own private bed and bath. read more

Beautiful apartments for undergraduate and graduate students. Great 4-bedroom options, with a large kitchen for everyone to cook, and hangout. I loved all the amenities, and the secured covered parking. However, I don't appreciate how they charge students (tenants; they aren't affiliated with the university) for an extra month of rent, but tenants can't move in until a month later. It's a ripoff. They say it's to hold the unit for the tenant, but it's stealing. Most tenants don't mind because their parents are paying for it, so nobody notices it, but for me, it was a dealbreaker. I confirmed this with another leasing agent, and as soon as I said no, they simply said farewell. They don't care about anyone, unfortunately. It's a money business. Just, be warned... I also took off a star because the agent who showed me around couldn't answer simple questions for me regarding the lease. I think he expected me to sign a lease without asking about specifics and send me on my way... read more

I am trying to sublease my apartment to someone/anyone and the office is absolutely NO help. Due to my job changing I can no longer afford this, of course they don't care. I am also tired of paying for such a dump. Walls are paper thin, hallway floors are disgusting, the pool is always closed, it smells like weed everywhere, the area is horrible,,,I can go on and on. If for only a minute the office could think that I am trying to pay for school, and this nasty apartment isn't even worth it,,I am willing to pay a fee to get out of this lease but nope it's my job to find someone to take over the lease. Be warned, 90% of the 5 star reviews are just their workers trying to raise the overall ratings. I live here and I went to ask some questions about my billing and the guy with curly hair couldn't care less about helping me. He suddenly became all nice when I saw him a few days later and said I wanted to renew (I didn't end up doing it, I just wanted to see if there were better room options for the price). There is no ceiling fan in the rooms, this is Las Vegas!! We need fans!! We have AC but the air circulation is so bad that my indoor plants grow mold on top of their soil because they can't dry out (just to give you an idea). The wifi sucks, and it keeps disconnecting my devices, and I have to manually go to a special link they sent me to delete them off of the wifi and re-add them. You only get 5 devices per lease, so if you're a gamer or have friends come over, you're screwed. They make you pay the first month's full rent even though you don't move in until August 18th ($1300 for 12 days? seriously?) . My door batteries died and I requested 3 times for them to be replaced and they changed the wrong door batteries the first time, and never came the second time, and then finally replaced them the third. The electrical box is in my room instead of main living area, so when I wasn't home our fridge power went out and my roommate couldn't reset it, and the maintenance took a while to get to my apt. The wall behind our sink isn't sealed correctly to the counter so I'm pretty sure the wall started rotting in the crack. The elevator stops working constantly, which sucks when I have groceries and need to walk 4 flights of stairs. Fire alarms go off at least twice a week. Walls are paper thin, I can hear my roommate using the bathroom. No guest parking. Don't get me started on the garage, the tiniest mirrors to see if people are coming around the corner, and only one floor has a mirror. I've almost been hit in there so many times from people flying down the garage. Their roommate matching app doesn't work, and I got assigned someone I never matched with, and we have completely different living styles. I could go on and on. IF you live here, make sure to bring a mattress pad. read more

The Legacy, in my opinion, is simply a place in which to have a residence. Sanitation - I am a resident of the Phase 2 (gated portion of The Legacy). I park behind one of the buildings on Claymont Street. A sanitation (I assume of such due to the overwhelming stench) pipe constantly spews out fecal-odor water into the parking spaces, creating a pool of standing water. This water overflows onto the pavement and onto the sidewalk between the two buildings. I've asked several times of the staff in-person to fix this problem. Their response is always to have the resident submit a work order. There has, in in-person meetings, a vocal/written attempt to alleviate this problem by the staff. Maintenance - No members of the maintenance staff have attempted to fix the sanitation pipe. No member has contacted me in-person or by email about the issue I have brought attention to multiple times. Parking - As stated in an August 2023 email, parking was to be strictly enforced and all resident-owned carts were to prominently display a Legacy-LV-issued parking window sticker. This policy, in my observation, is rarely enforced. I have seen multiple cars parked around the buildings on Claymont Street on numerous occasions without a Legacy LV parking pass. Of those occasions, some cars without parking passes were parked for over a week without any repercussions of towing. Voicemail Messages - Almost all of the voicemail messages recorded with the leasing office of The Degree / Legacy LV are never returned. As a resident, I expect to have my voicemail messages responded to in a form of communication. Front Office Personnel - I understand that the front office workers are college students. However, I feel as though that most of them are uninformed and do not answers to some of the basic questions presented to them by residents. The only person I had any faith in to have the answers to my inquiries AND followed through/circled-back to customer requests was Sokha (former assistant property manager). Rent Rates/Security - I realize that my monthly rent is higher because of my preference to reside in this area. However, as of late and over my three years as a resident, I have noticed that the parking lot gates is frequently open (excluding regularly-scheduled trash retrieval days). In addition, the sidewalk gates are rarely locked or the locks are completely broken, allowing anyone and everyone to access the gated area. I do not understand why we, as residents of this gated area, are expected to pay more in monthly rent when the gates are always open and/or broken. Laundry Facilities - A laundry room in one of the Claymont Street buildings has not been operational for the three years that I have lived at The Legacy LV. Whenever I request maintenance for this dilapidated facility, I am always directed to contact the laundry business responsible for/owns the machines. I do not understand or agree with the expectation that a resident must contact a company contractor to request repair of the facilities at the resident's apartment complex. Simple Bills - The SimpleBills arrangement through this apartment complex is a constant issue. Aside from being forced into an account in which I did not have a choice, I constantly have to deal with the transition of bills/address. Through no action of our own, our electrical account through Nevada Energy is routinely switched in and out of SimpleBills. From October 2023 to March 2024, I was paying Nevada Energy directly. I preferred this method rather than having to deal with a third party. As of March 2024 forward, I am now billed through SimpleBills. To add to the frustration, one of my monthly electric bills was hand-delivered to me by the front office because my address was somehow not registered in SimpleBills or with Nevada Energy. read more

They don't service the apartment through out the years you live there, my bf lived here 3 years and his roommate burnt carpet in my bf room with hookah coals so my bf told the guy sonny (he doesn't work there no more) and he said he doesn't have to pay anything for this because he will living here over 3 years but this year July his lease was up they charged my bf $1000 for the carpet replace, and say sonny doesn't work there no more there is nothing they can do Also it's very dirty place very loud even this apartment consider as a new the management don't care about manage the apartment well I recommend to live here if you want to be ripped off read more

Lived at the degree for the last 3 years! I have enjoyed it so much. The building is practically on campus and is an easy walk to and from classes! My favorite amenities are the gym, study rooms, and pool area. The gym has all the cardio machines u could need! There are more then enough quite study rooms, and the pool area is quite luxuries and if fun to hang with friends at! I recommend living here to anyone who asks. read more

SCAAAAAM! STUDENTS BEWARE They raise their prices and kick out students who have been paying the initial rent they were offered when they first moved in. Management will tell you that you never renewed your lease and kick you out so they can charge new tenants their raised prices. Literally signed my lease TWICE in front of them in their office and they still hesitated that I did not. They also scammed some of my friends who lived there. I had no choice but to move at the yoU and voila, one of my roommates got the same issue with them. I would've understood if they just told me they were raising my rent but they just kicked everyone out instead. Amenities are good tho ngl that's 1 star for them. The degree to start is a great style of modern living for students. So many different amenities like the pool, grill area, and study rooms. The building is right by campus too so it definitely makes it easier to access the campus. What really helped me move in and made me want to keep my lease is the customer service and the front desk area. Specifically Felicia, she was very tentative and answered all my questions. I felt like the process was that much more simple because of Felicia. Knowing that she will be helping around the apartment complex gives me a peace of mind. I don't even know where to begin with my horrible experience at the Degree. I've lived here for two years, and had to move out and sublet my apartment due to a tense situation with my roommates. Upon moving in, the Degree seems great as it is only around three years old, promoted as luxury campus apartments, and as close to campus as you can get. Unfortunately these apartments which may have started as luxury, have been left in horrible condition after only three years. Dirty walls, bad smells, exposed wires hanging from the ceiling, vomit lining the hallways, the pool literally being a tint of green because it hasn't been cleaned for weeks, and roaches in my apartment are all things I have seen living here. It also lacks safety as there have been two shootings within 2022, one of which residents weren't even made aware of (yet it somehow made the news). One major issue I have dealt with while living here is my packages constantly getting lost, even after staff had admitted to seeing them, just not knowing where they went. I had this happen with four different packages in the fall 2022 semester alone. The worst part is, while there are members of the staff who can be nice, a lot of the staff is rude and will basically just brush your concerns off and tell you there's nothing they can do about it. The whole package situation is extremely suspicious. The staff was also very unhelpful when I moved into my new apartment and my roommates refused to stop smoking cigarettes and marijuana in the apartment. When made aware of this, I was told by the leasing office that I would have to file a police report if I wanted them to do anything, which I wasn't going to do because it seemed fairly extreme and just unnecessary in general. Another major issue I had was the process of trying to sublet my apartment. The Degree staff walked me through the steps of what I needed to do, and I had a tenant waiting to take over. Once the tenant filled out his application and was ready to sign the lease, the leasing office told me specifically that suddenly they "had to order the new lease and we're waiting for it to come" (didn't really understand that one). Overall, I would highly suggest that you pick the Echo or another cheaper apartment building near campus as opposed to the Degree. It is extremely overpriced for what it offers and is a mess I wish I had stayed away from. Management is extremely crooked for trying to scam college students into living here knowing it is the closest option to campus. All I can say is, don't make a choice you will regret like I did. P.S. most of the good reviews are probably because they bribe tenets to leave good reviews in exchange for free food, and gift cards so I wouldn't fully trust them. read more

It's a great place for college students to live at. It's close to campus with great amenities. The common areas are clean and neat. And so are the room. The walls are thin and the halls floors are kind of message up and it feels like your going to fall through. Y'all. These walls dry so thin like there's only one coat so it makes it impossible to hang shit up . Almost like they purposely do it to run your money. I'm on the first floor, so when I first moved in there was a lingering piss smell and a chrome bag that had flower in it on the patio. Found pubes all over my bathtub, toilet wasn't scrub so there was leftover shit on the sides, all around not very great. Only thing good about this place is having your own bed and bath space. Oh, and the kitchen. The fan's ventilation could use some fixing but it's whatever. read more

While trying to help my sister find an apartment for my nephew who attended UNLV we ended up finding The Degree! It is in a perfect location for college students campus is right across the street, they have a nice gym, pool, and study hall etc. The staff here was also very helpful with providing my sister everything she needed to get an apartment for my nephew.
