An upscale and authentic Northern Indian restaurant with absolutely beautiful décor. The dishes we ordered were truly delicious and perfectly captured the rich, traditional flavors of Northern Indian cuisine. Our server was polite, attentive, and very informative, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The only downside was that the front desk staff could have been a bit more welcoming--perhaps a warmer smile would enhance the first impression. The lighting was slightly too bright for what feels like an upscale lounge setting, but overall, we had a great experience and look forward to coming back again soon. read more

I really wanted to love this place--and honestly, the ambiance almost had me. The decor is beautiful, with thoughtful little touches that make it feel special right when you walk in. We ordered the butter chicken and the Goat Rarah, and unfortunately, both fell a bit flat for us. They were just okay, we've definitely had better. The butter chicken leaned more tomato-forward than expected, which wasn't my favorite. The tandoori naan was excellent, though, and my husband did enjoy the Reshmi Seekh Kebab. Our waiter was kind and attentive, which we appreciated. Overall, this visit felt like a miss food-wise, but I'd genuinely love to hear what dishes others recommend because I really want to give this place another shot! read more

Ambience was nice; the restaurant is pretty. The menu is on a tablet, then your order is taken. Service was good. Prices are on the higher side and portions are smaller. We ordered the papdi chaat, which had great chutneys but a small portion. For the main, chicken saag and paneer butter masala were ordered. The paneer butter masala isn't how it was described: "Paneer cubes simmered in a smooth tomato and butter gravy, finished with dried fenugreek." The gravy was chunky and not buttery like the sauce that's described. The paneer was a little hard. Although I did not eat the saag chicken, it was enjoyed. We waited forever for our appetizer, and then even longer for the main course. Finally our appetizer arrived on table. In appetizers, we ordered a paneer item and in non-veg, chicken kabobs. The paneer was very soggy, pale, and tasteless, and the kabobs were extremely overwhelming with other ingredients and were not able to taste the original flavors. I am from Delhi, and this kabobs were not even my last choice of food if I were dying. After done with appetizers we were looking for our server and..... we waited.. then she showed up and we asked for our main course. After wasting so much of our time when we asked about our food, they simply said, "The restaurant is closed." Seriously? Then why take orders in the first place? And took long to serve us while other tables were getting their food on time. We asked for manager and what!! He came and said same thing.. Food, service, hygiene, atmosphere--everything is terrible. Our water glass was not getting full in timely manner.The staff has no sense of service and the manager was rude and careless. They don't respect customers at all. The bathrooms were dirty, the tables were messy, and the whole place felt unhygienic. It is not kid-friendly at all. The prices are sky-high for zero quality. Even the word "worth" doesn't apply here. It is a total waste of time and money. God bless to them who is going to visit in future over here. read more

We booked this place for brunch to celebrate my parent's anniversary. We really wanted to like this place, because the decor itself was very beautiful. We were the first ones to come in for lunch and right away someone asked my dad to re-park the car. There was literally no one in the parking lot. Once we sat to order, our waitress was very kind and offered suggestions. We were told the Sunday brunch was no longer available and were suggested items from the menu. After a long time, I have found a north indian restaurant. Delhi lounge has got ambience, professionalism and good tasty food. They have dress code to follow for custoners. Luckily i was dressed in business casuals. Waiters r well dressed and explains dishes well. They give you ipad to see menu. I ordered orange thyme mocktail, it was tasty but i could taste more of pineapple. In appetizer I ordered achari jalepeno paneer tikka and hara shami till kabab. Both were yummy. Entree was fenugreek cashew curry, which would be mild as name suggests, along with laccha paratha and truffle chur chur naan. Vegetable comes with side of rice as well. Overall good experience. I really wanted this place to work out for a special birthday celebration but it was a total let down. Made a reservation thru OpenTable, which was easy and convenient. The reservation did mention that it was to celebrate a birthday but there was no acknowledgement of that when we were seated. The ambience of the restaurant is pleasant and slightly upscale but the tables are extremely cramped. The booths are tightly packed with not enough leg room between the seats and the table. Service was spotty from the get-go with multiple forgotten orders and requests, delay in beverage and food service. It was a busy evening but it seemed like staffing was not the issue. Now for the food and drinks - enjoyed the Rupee IPA, which was a refreshing change from Taj Mahal. The Paani Puri Martini was nothing to rave about. Our white wine order was completely missed and the staff had to be reminded. We ended up cancelling the second order of wine because of the constant misses. The Paani Puri and Palak Patta chaat was served without a delay and tasted fine. The pineapple flavored paani is definitely not something authentic and was a bad attempt to try something new with Paani Puri. The order of the tandoori paneer was missed again and we had to wait an additional 15 mins for that to be served. This is when we decided to call it quits and move our celebrations to a different restaurant. Pricing : Expensive!!! Especially considering the poor service and mediocre food. Located in Little India in Irving, this new restaurant is amazing in its North Indian /moghlai dishes. We tried their Dal Makhni superb, their chicken Tikka and Butter Chicken (my wife does not like these but she was Amazed at how good these were) , a goat handi dish ( meat falling off bones), jeera rice, and a paneer vegetable dish ( all paneer dishes excellent here). Mango dessert excellent. We will come back again. Plenty of Parking. Only one issue the host ignored us when we entered. No idea why we were both well dressed. Waiters were great. read more

Finally got a chance to dine here last week and had an amazing experience! DFW has countless Indian restaurants, but not many with a great ambiance like The Delhi Lounge and I highly recommend this place to everyone! We thoroughly enjoyed the food here, especially the entrees and their handmade paneer (super soft), along with everything else! The service here was lovely from start to end- all the staff were very kind and attentive and a special shoutout to Jenny who was so sweet and prompt and looked after our table really well. We also got a chance to chat with both the owners who were such great hosts and provided some great recommendations to us. What a beautiful and tastefully decorated restaurant. Sometimes you can just want into a place and know you're about have a great meal. Everyone from the host to the wait staff demonstrated exceptional and friendly service. And don't pass on the house cocktails. They might be a bit on the sweet side and maybe kinda pricey but I found it to be quite a unique drinking experience. The goat seekh kebab was tender and packed in so many flavors. The truffle malai broccoli was very unique in of itself and had some good heat to it that I wasn't expecting. Even though the truffle chur chur naan was very delicious, the garlic naan we ordered separately was far more tasty. It was crispy on some bites with roasted garlic bits on it. The waiter recommended the melthi malai chicken curry which was a nice break from the traditional butter chicken and chicken tikka most White people are used to. It was creamy and had a big flavor bomb on it and the chicken in it was succulent and tender. The chicken dum biryani was such a cool experience. They serve it in a clay pot sealed with the baked dough rim around it. I know that's pretty traditional but we've never seen it before. The biryani itself was delicious. If you're not into meat on the bone, though traditional, this may not be for you. Can't wait to come back and try something new. read more

I didn't like the iPad menus. Funny that they had to give a tutorial on how to work it. I let the experts do all the ordering. They ask for the spice level. Tried some new appetizers that I never had before. Got assorted curries: the usual butter chicken, lentils etc. Everything was pretty good. Tasted heavy though, but I think curry generally is. Had an incredible experience at Delhi Lounge in Irving during a special 7-course dinner led by renowned Chef Manjit Gill from India. The food was outstanding--thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and easily some of the best Indian cuisine we've had in a long time. The staff did an amazing job serving a large crowd course by course--truly all hands on deck--and everything ran smoothly. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening (and definitely ate too much!). We ordered the drinks and appetizers and had to flag down another waiter who was wonderful by the way. He was more knowledgeable and recommended some food from the menu. Again, food was delicious. The cocktails were okayish. For mains, we got the rogan Josh, butter chicken and dal makhni...while all of them tasted good, I've had better. Skip the deserts. I would give zero stars based on our experience in the bar today. We went a little after 5.30 pm and requested to sit at the bar, so the hostess directed us to the bar. The bar tender curtly told us that the bar is not open yet. We asked when do they open and his response was quite arrogant 'when I get done with things'! After this I had no desire to dine there but the restaurant manager asked us to take a seat. The bar tender still completely ignored us and made it pretty clear that he had no intention to serve us, so we left. Upscale food and decor is worthless if the service sucks! I won't return again! We tried pani puri, paneer tikka, butter chicken, dal makhni, and took the bread basket ! For desserts, we tried kulfi falooda and moong daal halwa !!! Every dish was top notch ! It got super difficult for us to choose our most favorite dish. We went on Mother's Day dinner. This was the first time they tried to serve buffet, normally they serve ala-carte only. Our reservation for 4 people was for 6 pm. When we reached there, host told us that they are running 10-15 minutes behind. Anyways we were offered to seat. We sat and noticed they were still arranging buffet and half of the items were not even there. After waiting for another 10 minutes, we were finally asked for drinks. We asked for water and soft drinks. Lemonade was made using concentrated lemon juice and was bit sour. Anyways at 6:40 is when they opened the buffet when they could have let people eat chaat items. The food was mediocre. The price was $50 for adults, $25 for kids and 18% gratuity. I was expecting zero gratuity and potentially complimentary drinks or something for letting people wait 40 minutes. Servers hardly came to refill drinks or anything. Upon the time of leaving, there were still two items which never came to the buffet area. This is supposed to be fine dine north India. I seriously hope they train their staff well on the menu and fix the short comings or we are never coming back.They had some wall pictures from India and restrooms were clean although the hand soap was super diluted. read more

Super fun to eat at Delhi Lounge this week! Kinda fancy but also comfortable with attentive service. All décor from chairs to rugs to wood carved décor imported from India. Chef moved here last fall from India to start the concept. Food is classic northern Indian, with a few fusion twists thrown in. We tried the Pani Puri, Chili Lime Pomfret, Dal Makhani, Butter Chicken, Truffle Chur Chur, and Saffron Rasmalai for dessert.
