I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it was a miss. I started with the beet carpaccio, which was actually enjoyable. The portion was fair and the ingredients felt fresh. The vinaigrette leaned very citrusy, which overpowered the dish a bit, but I couldn't help thinking that adding some goat cheese would balance it beautifully and elevate the whole plate. Then came the pasta bolognese... and that's where things went downhill fast. The ricotta was completely flavorless, the meat was tough, and overall the dish lacked seasoning. It was honestly one of the most disappointing bolognese dishes I've had. One more thing that really stood out: the interior has carpet flooring. In a food establishment, that feels deeply unhygienic and off-putting. 1/5 stars -- a strong start with the appetizer, but the main course and overall experience completely missed the mark. read more

This area has become of gem of a location in DFW for dining, and Monaco brings a truly elevated and upscale experience to the area. This is my updated review. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Monaco is one of the prettiest restaurants in all of DFW. Dark wood and dark blue seating invite you in. The bar is stunning, with back lighting highlighting their drinks. There's also an outdoor seating area, including a wind shield - perfect when the weather is nice. This is a great spot for a weekend date night if you want something outside of Dallas. 1 Star. Service - Everyone was very nice. We were never rushed, all dishes could be customized to order, and I never had to ask for a refill. Nothing but good people here. 1 Star. Food - Let me start by saying presentation matters, and the dishes at Monaco are great for your Instagram or Yelp feed. I started with the roasted oysters. I chose it because the description said the oysters are "topped with bone marrow butter". That, combined with the roasted breadcrumbs, added a nice crunchy and smooth texture to the delicious oysters. For my main, I went with the Salmon St. Harve. This beautiful dish had a perfectly prepared salmon. Soft and flaky, but with a crunch from the skin at the bottom. It was served on top of grilled asparagus and topped with a cream sauce that brought everything together. Delicious. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. It's not a secret that I love Water Street. Had a great time visiting this Italian restaurant. It's located in a cute and trendy area in Irving. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately for our reservation. Restaurant was clean and had an elevated ambiance. Of course there's a full bar. The dirty martini, old fashioned and French martini were all great. They also offer a nice selection of wines. The charcuterie board was fresh and made with high quality ingredients. The branzino was the show stopper! It was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor in every bite. I would go back 10 times just for the fish!! The filet mignon with mashed potatoes was excellent as well. The shrimp pasta was yummy, but a tad too spicy for me. My friend loved how spicy it was. The gazpacho was good. The only tiny issue I had was the pacing of the meal because I felt like it took too long for drinks and in between courses. Overall it was a great meal and I would return. Visited on a Monday night to celebrate my birthday with my hubby and son. We had a reservation so we were greeted and escorted to our table quickly. Inside, the restaurant itself is not very large - unless they have more seating in a more secluded area. The decor simple yet elegant- a more modern area near the bar. The menu is not overly extensive but what they have is done to perfection! We opted for the meatballs and mussels for our appetizers- best mussels I've ever had! All our entrees were amazing. The "icing on the cake" was the chocolate pecan tart with ice cream *chefs kiss*. This place is definitely worth the visit and we will definitely be returning to try more! Enjoy! read more

I expected a regular Italian menu. Before you come make sure something on the menu sounds good as they try to avoid any modifications. I was disappointed they didn't serve chicken picccata, even more disappointed that their pork piccata isn't the lemon caper sauce. I ended up having brunch and it was so good that I couldn't leave a bad review in the end even though I didn't get the chicken I was craving when I looked for italian. Where to start? I have to admit, I haven't been to this area to eat in a while and had no idea about Monaco. WOW -- not sure how I missed this place, but I won't be making that mistake again! We met friends for dinner and Birthday celebration. When we arrived wefound them at the bar, so we joined them for a drink. What a deal -- happy hour seven days a week and $8 cocktails!! They had me at the Manhattans! The bar staff was fantastic, and once our table was ready, they seamlessly transferred our tab over. Our waiter, Peter, was amazing -- just the right amount of interaction without being overbearing (LOL). He kept our glasses full, knew the menu inside and out, and even told us about their weekend brunch. We ordered a few appetizers -- I'm not sure what the cheese and bread one was called, but it was spot on. I had a chicken dish with arugula that was flavorful and generously portioned. We also shared a couple of delicious desserts to top things off. I loved the décor inside and noticed a large outdoor dining area that I can't wait to enjoy once the weather cools down. I ordered the Creamy Calabrian and WOW--hands down one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a long time. The fresh house-made linguine was perfectly al dente and soaked up every bit of the spicy Calabrian cream sauce. A. substituted the shrimp for steak and, and the pancetta added the perfect salty bite. The soleggiati tomatoes and Parmigiano Reggiano brought it all together beautifully. We also shared a pepperoni pizza, which came out with a perfectly blistered crust, zesty sauce, and crispy pepperoni--simple, classic, and done right. To finish, my friend ordered the espresso crème brûlée, and it did not disappoint. Creamy, with just the right hint of espresso and that satisfying crack of the sugar top--chef's kiss. I believe her name was "Katie", I'm sorry if I'm not right. She was sweet and welcoming. Knowledge of the menu, created a rapport with us to make the night easy. The manager was fun and energetic. Very welcoming. We had an incident where Katie accidentally waste wine (red) on my mom's dress. Katie was mortified, wine even on her shirt. She was very apologetic so was the manager. At first they offered a dry cleaning voucher for my mom, however that changed and my mom's meal was free. Along with the desserts for the table. Food was top tier for each us. Everyone cleaned their plates. Each of us tried a piece from one plate or more and we all said "I should have gotten that " or "that's good". We stopped by a couple of weeks ago and could not stop talking about how great this place was- we had to come back tonight! The food is delicious- especially the bread, which is a pretty common appetizer at most restaurants, but is so delicious here! It's soft and seems freshly made. For a place to excite us this much about a simple bread basket says a lot! We've had the chicken Milanese, bolognese, lobster risotto, and pesto pasta. All four dishes were great, although I'm always partial to a well prepared chicken Milanese, so that's what I will return for. Aside from the food, we were taken back by how wonderful the wait staff is. They are incredible attentive and welcoming, making sure that we were enjoying our experience from start to finish. They are very warm without feeling overbearing and seem very genuine about their efforts to give you a good experience. It seems like it's more of a dinner spot so wasn't crowded like a couple of the other more casual restaurants nearby. The vibe was elegant and classy. I've been to Monaco restaurant. The food is good, however, when I looked online one item I was especially interested to order was the Osso Buco, however it was not on the menu. So, I called today (6/3/2026) at around 5:45pm, and I spoke with a gentleman (thought his name started with the letter L) and asked if the restaurant served Osso Buco, he told me no, but did say their sister restaurant Lamberti's has lamb osso buco. I told him that the online menu still shows Osso Buco and perhaps they should remove it from their online menu if not selling it. He was short with me and said, 'well, I can't do it right this minute'. I wasn't asking him to remove it right this minute...he sounded upset of me just asking the question. Wonder how the rest of the service is at this place if a person answering is so short, and acts like they can't be bothered. I went to this place over a month ago, and it's still on their website, but not on the menu inside the restaurant. Monaco was a nice experience. We met friends for dinner there. There's a decent happy hour drink selection. We shared two oyster apps, one was baked, one raw with ceviche. The oysters were very small but tasty. For dinner I splurged on the filet which had mashed potatoes and a layer of sautéed spinach under it. This was delicious. They had a large wine list, but the lowest bottle of red was $55. The wine was delicious so no need to up spend. The dinner menu offered several salads and sandwiches at a more budget friendly cost compared to the entrees. Service was excellent provided by Peter. Very good food, not overfilling but enough. My in-laws were in town over a long weekend, and it happened to be my mother-in-law's birthday as well. We wanted to take them someplace nice and chose Monaco. I knew nothing of the place - my wife chose it because she thought it had a view onto the nearby faux-river (it doesn't, but who cares - this place is great - hang on!) So I look online at the menu and I think it's kinda small. I will say if you are looking up the menu do it from their actual website and not a google summary or anything else. The menu is quite diverse and there is definitely something for everyone here - which is good when you're trying to impress your in-laws. We had reservations and were seated quite quickly. First impressions - smaller place, but very trendy-ly (?) decorated. High curved ceilings with chandeliers, ceiling painted dark blue with stars among them. Small bar, back wall is wood with bottles of wine built into it. LOUD! For a small place it was pretty loud. But we did ok. We had a nice seat - 4 top booth. The chairs they use are neat - they have little gold handles on the back which is something I've not seen before. Let's just get right to it: We LOVED it! And it's all thanks to Quinton, or "Q" as he asked to be called. He was our waiter, but he told us he's also one of the managers. And I have to say, he was one of the best waiters I've ever had. Here's why: I got their Nakatomi Plaza drink to start and any real man will tell you that's a perfect name for a cocktail. It was great as was the wine I had after. We ordered arancini as a starter. Q tells us they come in a set of 3, but since there is 4 of us, he'll add another on there at no charge. Nice! They were excellent. When it came time to order our meals, Q had excellent suggestions and told us his favorites. Oh - we also ordered the "bread service" - now we sort of tacked that on after ordering our meals - sort of "oh and can we have the bread service" so it wasn't a surprise that we didn't get it quickly. I mentioned this to Q - just in a casual reminder "Oh we ordered the bread service as well" - Q goes to check, said it got lost in the shuffle, brought it out, and said there was no charge! I have complained about stuff before and not had it taken off the bill - this I mean I wasn't even annoyed I nearly forgot I ordered it - so for him to do that meant a lot to me. The service here - at least with Quinton - is not something you should miss. It's at a level that makes you, the common schmo (speaking of myself) feel special. It's really nice and you rarely see it these days. Also - I rarely eat meat these days - long story - so when I'm out I like to get a steak. And their 15-ounce ribeye does not disappoint! It was excellent - tender and cooked just so that the fat was as wonderful as the meat. My father in law cleared his plate, I nearly did - little gristle - not to worry - it's normal. Mother in law had the pasta and she raved about it. Wife had the branzino which was lovely. I have to tell you, I had low expectations for this place, but the cooks in the kitchen are crushing it, the place is super cute and nice to be in, and Quinton just blew us away - what a gem!
