The Dental Spa is the cleanest and most peaceful dental office I've ever been in. The entire staff is uber friendly and super professional. I've lived in Woodbridge for 20 years and have been going there for about 10 yearI'm a Service Adviser at Malloy Hyundai in Woodbridge so I really appreciate truly exceptional customer service when I receive it. Michelle took care of me yesterday before and after my teeth cleaning and I genuinely enjoyed taking with her at the desk until a waiting patron was behind us. Unfortunately I didn't get to see Marv Thomas who is usually the highlight of my visit i guess even Super Woman has to take a day off every once awhile. Half the time she's the one calling to confirm appointments and while in the office constantly supervising 5+ patients at a time. Coming from someone who has a similar customer service oriented job in Woodbridge it's not easy especially iN the Woodbridge/NOVA market. Believe me. I had a temp do my cleaning and she was pleasant. I have major dental anxiety sometimes and they always accommodate my needs and make me feel so comfortable. I'm only 26 years old and I had my first root canal 6 months ago, I honestly was extremely embarrassed, nervous and a little ashamed. They took care of it no problem. My husband recently retired and I kept the dental part of our insurance. I have the same insurance I have used with them prior. Ellie left me a voicemail saying she was having issues pulling up my information. I call MetLife first and they advised me to have the office call them and gave me another number that was not general customer service, but for providers. I called in and someone identifying herself as the office manager answered. I relayed to her that MetLife said to call them and I was to give them this number. She kept saying I need your member number and I explained nothing had changed other than the plan being COBRA now and I needed to give her this number. Long story short she declined to take the number and said she would just close out the claim, whatever that meant. I felt I needed to bring this to the public's attention. I found out what closing out the claim meant. They just sent me a bill to pay the balance . That balance is the responsibility of my insurer. I also left a message for the Dr Thomas (the dentist that owns the practice) to call me and have not received a return call ( it has been 3 days). read more

I went there ( the dental spa)and was told my tooth was cracked and needed to be pulled..an was offered to pull it that very day..I left..come to find out my tooth is not cracked at all. I was lied to or the dentist is incompetent. Not sure which. And she did an x-ray..unbelievable..im still traumatized about her wanting to pull my tooth.that didn't need to be.pulled. however..it's one dentist there that I know is good. read more

I went 3 times to get a bridge, that was fitted previously and still ended up having to go to a different dental office to get my final bridge after paying in full. I asked the front desk about a refund they told me the owner may or may not call me back so I have to schedule yet another visit (consultation) to get my money back after this office messed up royally. The fact that everyone is looking at my record and seeing I paid for nothing, is diabolical. They also had me scheduling and attending appointments with no resolve. I didn't get the sense anyone in this establishment really cares about the people they are taking money from. The Assistant Manager as she described herself had a chip on her shoulder as soon as I asked about a refund. She let me know, the manager wasn't there and she was not able to assist in a refund. I went this morning to get my records after they told me I could and was told they had to get them together. Had to listen to the new dentists office plead for my records to assist me. You have to do better when it involves health and money!!! I was clear in my initial visit I'm afraid of dentists, this only made my situation worse. Absolutely terrible. If you like to wait over an hour past your appointment time This place is for you. And it happens EVERY time my son goes for his Invisalign check. After 30 minutes of waiting in the waiting room they stick you in a chair in the back for another 30-45 minute. I feel trapped with them because we have already paid for the Invisalign treatment. We see another dentist now for cleanings but are stuck with them for the duration of the Invisalign. read more

For my scheduled appointment I got a dental cleaning. Dr. Rifhat Khan is a horrible dentist. I requested a filling be polished because it was a little rough. She said she had another appointment with a patient and said she didn't have time to do it. She said go back to the dentist who did the filling. This women lacks any type of customer service. I won't be back to the Dental Spa. You will not be getting any of my money again nor from my dental insurance company. Also, my dental cleaning was sloppy. The dental tech got water all over me and my shirt was stained with the polish that they clean your teeth with. Go somewhere else, no patient should ever be treated how Dr. Khan treated me. read more

So, a little background.. I was one of Dr. Thomas's first patients when she opened her practice in Dillingham Square many moons ago. After having done Invisalign with her in 2008-09, moved away for college, and returned to the area, I returned to her practice for Invisalign again (never received my retainers the first go around - my fault, not the practice's). March 2021 I started my second Invisalign journey with a consultation. Impressions were made and my trays were ordered (well supposedly). I set an appointment for April to pick them up; the appointment date comes around and when I arrive to the office, I'm told my trays were never ordered. Why wasn't I informed of this when someone called me just the day before to confirm my appointment? I have no idea. Regardless, another appointment was made, and a rush-order was placed for my trays. They arrived in May and so my journey began. I'd done Invisalign previously, so the process was great. No issues or concerns. I finished my trays in December but had to also complete 3 months of refinement trays. My smile is aligned, and I couldn't be happier. Then we get to today - the day my attachments come off and I'm fitted for my retainer. I received a call yesterday asking me to come in earlier because the doctor was leaving the office early - okay, cool no problem. I was told my appointment would last 30 minutes. I arrived at 11:55am for my 12:00 noon appointment. While in the waiting room I noticed everyone who arrived after me was being called back. (I worked at a medical office for years and understand patients are not all here for the same type of appointment, so I have no issue waiting.) When I notice it's now 12:30pm, I approach the front desk to reschedule because my schedule does not permit me to continue to wait, nor was I informed of a wait at check-in. The front desk associate immediately called a dentist assistant to the front who (I'm assuming) went in the back to talk with Dr. Thomas, and magically, I'm called back to a room. I told the dental assistant and the front desk associate I could not stay for my appointment due to my schedule. The dental assistant tells me it will just be a consultation and does apologize for the wait, which I appreciate. When Dr. Thomas comes in the room - no apology whatsoever and begins getting her dental tools together (which is not something she's done at previous consultations/follow ups). When I asked her if this is going to be a consultation as I was informed, she makes a joke. I tell her I need clarity - again, she makes another joke and tells me to open wide so we can take my attachments off and do a consultation for my retainer. Honestly, at this moment I should have spoken up for myself, but I figured (and they probably did as well) that since I was already in the chair, I should just go through with it. Again, no apology from the doctor concerning the extended wait time. After this was complete, Star (who is AMAZING) came to do my impressions for my retainer. She was so patient and took her time explaining the process and formalities to me - even when I asked for clarity a few times she remained patient and never once made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. She was extremely knowledgeable and had excellent bedside manner. Everyone else I had encountered through my entire Invisalign journey who were clinical made me feel rushed in and out of the room, so Star was truly a breath of fresh air. She even told me if I had questions about my at-home whitening to call the office and ask to speak to her directly. Personal touch! I still have a few more appointments with The Dental Spa (for retainers only), but I felt the need to write this public review. When the incident happened and my trays were never ordered, I sent an email to the office manager (but never heard anything). I absolutely love what The Dental Spa provides for the community. I could have gone to any other orthodontics (trust me, I did a few consultations), but I intentionally choose The Dental Spa because of the great care I had received 20 years ago. I'm not too sure if my experience is just a one-off situation, but I hope my experience is not a true depiction of The Dental Spa's level of customer service and patient care. read more

I was recommended to the dental spa by a friend. She had a pleasant experience, but I came in just to have some 20 year old fillings removed and replaced. They did that whole 360 thing were they can see everything but obviously they missed something because a tooth I never had a problem started getting sensitive the next day until this day. Problem is I couldn't go back and have them fix it because my job ended the next day as well. I'm just holding on until I get another job and using Orajel. WE are going this Dental Spa Over 20 years. It was good before it was a small office, Last few years is getting bad services. We had two dental insurance, They confirmed before the service. Service was done May 3rd, 2022. Endodontics Therapy ,Maylor Tooth and Crown-Porcelin/Ceramic process done. I had lot of issue, Keep going there. After More then a Year they called and asked me to pay then Close to $1,000 . I called the office and Asked that I had insurance that time and I no longer with that company. They said Insurance company no longer provide service for you anymore. I asked what is the Name of the insurance company. They told me the wrong one. I told the correct name of the Insurance compamy, They said it was their mistake. They send it wrong Insurance company. No news anymore, I thought that it done. I got a mail August, 2023 that I have to pay Close to $1,000 for the service. I send a mail to the Main Dentist Dr. Thomas regarding this issue but never get back any answer from her. Looks like She might not get the letter and I wrote the mistake done by the Back office. They did not send correct Insurance company for the service and I worked that company for s short period of time. Now I am not working their, By the time they send the bill so late, Insurance company denied to pay. Currently , I went different dental office, They found Part of the tooth was under my Gum and Dental Spa did not took out during Extract the tooth for a long time. I have really hesitated writing this review for a very long time. The experience I had with this practice was nothing short of the proverbial nightmare...and the sad part is--I kept going back because I actually believed and trusted that Dr. Thomas would "make it better." Her phony smile and fake caring and treating you like you're her long lost best friend is just a ruse. She only wants your money and truly does not care about you as a patient. I realize that now. I ended up spending $$$$$ with her practice, including an implant, 3 crowns, a root canal, and some other procedures she charged me for that were inadequate. The implant was fine...but the communication up to and including the procedure was sorely lacking. Her dental techs are woefully untrained--the office is duty (I looked at some utensils in one of the offices, and they were layered with dust). If I were you, I'd stay away. I am STILL paying for their debacle on my teeth some 5 years later. I've had to have issues corrected, and and and...just be careful. I no longer live nearby--I moved...found an incredible dentist near me. read more

There are so many choices for dentistry where i live but my family has been coming here since we moved to the neighborhood 15 years and will not go anywhere else. I moved away for a few years and went to another, more convenient dentist. Big mistake. Had to endure an additional root canal that the other dentist botched. After everything healed i decided to get Invisalign. Dr. Thomas and her staff,especially Star, are great at what they do. Last week, I went in for cleaning. After my cleaning was done, one of the dentists told me I have a cavity, and I will need to get a crown. I told the doctor I don't like getting a crown because it is considered a major procedure and asked her if she can look into other treatment plan; therefore, she agreed to look into another treatment plan, and she will follow up soon. Well.. I didn't get a treatment plan until I called the office Monday afternoon. When I received the treatment plan, it seems like the dentist never looked into an alternative treatment plan because receptionist was saying the crown needs to be done and there are no other note... this is when everything went side way. First, they quoted me out of network prices when my insurance is in-network. Then I got into weird discussion about which tooth has a cavity. After this was sorted out, I got another call saying they are unsure about what what kind of treatment I want to get it done on Friday.. and when i called back, the receptionist confused me even more about lab work and other stuff. Therefore I asked to speak to the doctor, but the receptionist told me she is with the patient, so asked me to call back in an hour. I waited about 1 hour and called back and the receptionist again told me that the doctor is with a patient, and she will call back in an hour.. therefore, i waited about 2 1/2 hours but i still have not gotten the call back. Again, I called back and told the receptionist I have not received the call and she replied "oh, the doctor must have forgotten." At this point, I started to suspect that the doctor is avoiding to call me back. I thought this was unprofessional behavior, and I told the receptionist to cancel all my future appointments because I was pretty upset about the miscommunication and how they are treating me as patient. I am going to change my dentist, and I don't recommend this dental office. read more

I went to the Dental Spa for a cleaning on Friday, March 5th. During my appointment, Dr. Jasvir inquired about where my parents are from so that she could find out my what race I am. After I answered the question, she asked if I spoke the native language of the country my parents were born in, and when I answered no, she criticized me and said, "You don't speak your mother tongue??" I told her kindly that I speak English primarily, and she continued to berate me. I came to The Dental Spa for a professional dental cleaning. I did not go there to be judged by my race, cultural practices, or the ways in which I identify, especially because this information is not pertinent to the dental care that's being provided to me as a patient. Dr. Jasvir's behavior made me uncomfortable and was incredibly unprofessional. I don't plan on coming back. Thanks for an awful first experience. Do me a favor and keep your politics out of my appointments. UPDATE: Compared to other dentists, this place charges more for treatment. For example, receiving a filling from The Dental Spa costs $143 total. I went to a different dentist, and they gave me a rate of $104 per filling. I also want to add that The Dental Spa recommended that I get an ~$1800 root canal. I found out by another dentist that I do NOT need a root canal, because my cavities haven't reached that point of decay. I'm so glad I compared prices and services, because I could've been misinformed and ended up paying several hundreds out of pocket. I also found out that The Dental Spa was only able to identify 2-3 cavities that I had, whereas a different dental practice identified SIX teeth that require treatment. It really makes it seem like The Dental Spa does NOT do their due-diligence to make sure they're providing the best treatment and they care more about money. SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT GET THE ZOOM WHITENING. I went to The Dental Spa for the first time to get my teeth professionally whitened. It was a nice atmosphere, the office was decorated beautifully and seemed very clean. Everyone I met who worked at the spa was very friendly. I'm just unimpressed with the whitening treatment and I would not recommend this spa if you're looking to get one done. I honestly wish I would have done my research and read reviews and I would have probably chosen to go somewhere else. The price was right since they were offering a winter special, but the results absolutely not worth the $398 I just paid. My teeth were pretty white to begin with, so I was hoping to come out with a pure white smile, but there was hardly a difference after I got them done and now that it's been a couple of weeks, they are right back where they were before I went in. The only thing I got out of it was a day of extreme tooth sensitivity and loss of time and money. I am sure I would've had better and less painful results from crest white strips. I would think that a (regularly $600) professional treatment would show better results. One issue I have is that I was not able to compare my teeth in the office with a before and after photo, or even a color swatch. I asked about it when they were getting started and once I was lying in the chair with my mouth clamped open, she held up a swatch quickly, put it down and announced that I matched the lightest color on the particular swatch. I saw it out of the corner of my eye and it was a lot more yellow than my teeth were to start with, but I couldn't say anything because my mouth was being held open, and I didn't care because I figured I would get great results regardless. They told me the results were "permanent" which is not true with zoom whitening; if you research online, you'll find that zoom whitening lasts two years max if you take care of your teeth. The dentist, however, insisted that it was permanent. After the whitening was finished I hardly noticed any difference and the dental assistant matched me with a new swatch that looked just like my teeth to begin with. How was I supposed to have any proof of that when she's the one who looked at the sample before they began? She was so quick and she didn't show me. I came back to the office a week later hoping to get some help because not only were the results unimpressive, but I also had discoloration all over my front teeth which I have NEVER seen before. I take care of my teeth so this really freaked me out. The dentist told me that it was caused because certain parts of my teeth are more porous than other parts and those parts whiten faster. I was told that the discolored parts that showed up more white would remain white, and I should keep whitening because the parts around them would "catch up". Other dentists online said that that happens because your teeth become dehydrated after the whitening treatment and they go back to normal. Alas, they have certainly gone back to normal. She also tried to sell me (on top of the 400$ I already paid LOL) a paste for tooth sensitivity, which I wasn't experiencing at that point. I really don't think this dentist knows what they're doing and I definitely wouldn't trust them with whitening again, let alone any more serious dental work. I was a bit shocked, because a dentist came in and did a brief exam before the whitening to check for cavities. As I understand it, it's unsafe to whiten on top of a cavity. She told me I looked fine. Then after the whitening treatment and once I saw my unimpressive results, I asked them to have someone come in and check a spot I noticed on my tooth that looked like a chip and a different dentist came in. This one told me I had a cavity that needed to be filled. It would've been nice if the first dentist had checked thoroughly enough to see that. How did one miss it and another see it?? I wish I could get my money back but I'll take the loss. Maybe this office is better with other dental treatments but again, seeing as the first dentist entirely missed a cavity, who knows. read more

I wish the ratings were by category... the office is beautifully decorated and clean. My cleanings and treatments are good. The staff is 50/50. Some are very pleasant and helpful; others seem like they wish the work day was over -- body language and face show it. I've never been seen at my appointment time, most times 20-30min later. So today was my first time ever coming to the Dental Spa. I started my day at a completely different dental office to get a filling redone that had fallen out (It was probably 10 years old or so). They informed me that I needed a crown, possibly a root canal as well. I've never had either of those done, so I was pretty damn nervous. I'm not a fan of going to the dentist anyway, so I was already anxious to begin with. After being given an estimate, I was shooed out the door. Between that, and the fact that they didn't use nitrous oxide in their office, I decided to go to dental spa up the street..just to see what their prices were. The staff was friendly and efficient. The office manager was very attentive and helpful. She even was able to get me in for a free consultation within minutes of me being in there. (It didnt feel like they are pushy or judgemental) Yes, I did need a root canal and crown. After working out financing (they work with you to the best of their ability), I was able to get an appointment that afternoon. I'm home for about 2 hours now, and the novacaine is starting to wear off. Yes, I'm kind of in alot of pain, but I expected that. SO FAR, I am very glad I went to Dental Spa today..I go back on Tuesday to get my crown put on. The staff and doctors were a real pleasure. read more

The office looks nice and is well appointed but they have an interesting way of doing business. I wish the waiting area had a little more privacy instead of the huge, uncovered plate glass window on the same level as the parking lot. My first time to the office and unfortunately it was not an impressive experience. I arrived early, knowing that there would be paperwork to complete beforehand. I completed the paperwork before my appointment was to begin then had to wait nearly an hour before I let the front desk know that I had to leave because I couldn't wait any longer. I understand that doctors have busy schedules and have to give their patients the best possible treatment but patients may have other appointments as well. An hour is completely unacceptable. I'll give the spa another opportunity. Perhaps they don't really need my business. I'll find out next week and update this post. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Thomas since December and I love her and the office. I have intense dental anxiety that causes me to skip dental visits for a couple of YEARS at a time. She was able to do an emergency extraction on the same day that I saw her. She was also very kind, understanding, and patient with me. I am admittedly a difficult scared patient. She explained everything to me and she has such a pleasant and soothing bed side manner. She put me instantly at ease. The entire staff is very pleasant and professional and Nora explains options and billing and details in a very thorough way. I did walk away with a full treatment plan that broke down what was recommended to be done sooner and what would be considered optional treatments. I am going through with the recommended plan and should be finished in the next few weeks. The entire experience has left me less anxious. As for cost - I believe it's reasonable - maybe a little on the higher end but worth it as I've been to SEVERAL offices and the cleanliness alone makes me want to come back. My insurance covers about half of the costs so that helps. But worth every penny in my opinion. read more

Even though I have moved over 35 miles away I still make the drive to her office for all my dental needs. Her and her staff make you feel like family versus just a number. I have been coming here for over 10 + years. However, this past year, was the first time I have had to deal with major dental work and surgeries. I had knocked my front tooth loose after hitting a concrete sidewalk, and long story short, I was forced into having a root canal (which I said I did not want as it would be a waste of money) my tooth was loose & moving why would a root canal save the tooth? (money & insurance used & spent), 1 month later, I complained I was still having issues with my tooth, and found out that it is cracked in the gum line. Now going through the procedure for implant. Maxed out on my dental coverage for the year, and paying out of pocket for the difference (it is a front tooth & we all need our front teeth in this day & age). Long story short, I have had to do 2 re-schedules for same procedure of surgery. (don't get me started on the 1st re-schedule as I was very pissed at what happened). This 2nd reschedule is because the implant of the new tooth that they installed gives off a hue of Green for my front tooth (are you kidding me) so now I have to go back this week for my new tooth implant & 2 veneers (by the way, they charged me money for the veneers months after the initial quote due to being maxed out on my dental coverage) did I mentioned that when they collect the money for the upcharge that I was already sedated and under medication so I wasn't really coherent as to what I was paying much less signing. I'm a little upset. Spoke with front office (waiting on feedback either later today or tomorrow morning). However, I am taking time off from work (loosing money cause have no PTO, and I have asked for some sort of credit back on the card used sine this is an inconvenience that I am loosing money financially from work. Sorry I never like to do this, but this is so bothering me. Please if you consider having root canal or dental implant, do research first and make darn sure you get everything in writing (as I did, but obviously didn't help). I have never had this much problem with this office until now. I'm very disappointed and upset. read more

I am now 34 years old:-). Well my cousins' introduced me to Dr. Marvie and she is absolutely amazing! I am in the process of straightening my teeth as I did not wear my retainers like I should have and my teeth shifted. I am almost finished with my Invisialigns. She is a perfectionist, professional and knowledgeable. Her establishment is very relaxing! I mean who wouldn't love getting there teeth cleaned while watching TV, right?! The Dental Spa sounded like the ideal place to have my wisdom teeth removed. False. Dr. Kastriot Kaci was rude, inconsiderate and most of all painful! I went in expecting to have a few fillings done and all four of my wisdom teeth removed. I'm scared to death of needles and asked if Dr. Kaci if he would put me under. He refused. He said all I needed was a local. Next, he filled my cavities then began removing my bottom two wisdom teeth (which had some pretty deep roots). He then told me that his next patient was there, and I would have to come back to have my other two teeth removed. I had scheduled all four for that day and taken the time off of work to recover! Not only did I have to make another appointment, but I was unable to eat on either side of my mouth. If he had anticipated something like this, he could have taken a top and bottom of one side, so I would still be able to eat. After my second appointment for my upper wisdom teeth, I got dry sockets. I went in to have them checked out and he viciously shoved something in my mouth and told me I'd be fine, without explaining what happened or what I could do to limit the pain (I had to Google everything). In short, Dr. Kaci was the most miserable dental experience I've had in my 28 years. I did not appreciate his callous nature or the fact that he did not listen to my requests.
