From the paperwork all the way to the night guard at the end. They replaced both of my front teeth with crowns and used some new fangled high tech scanner computer to take 3-D scans of my teeth for the process. But it's not just this procedure that stands out. I mean, they came out better than I expected by far. But. I have been seeing Dr. Toyer and Dr. Toyer and their team for five years now. I can't remember a single doctors office ever that I've felt more at home. Everyone knows you by name. The pride Dr. Toyer takes in his work is evident from the start to the finish. And he's real hip too. Completely up to tomorrow on the newest tech to make your procedure a breeze. Oh and they do amazing with pediatrics. My toddlers love going to see them! It began with noticing that cleanings were becoming rushed and incomplete -- sometimes it felt like no real cleaning was done at all. Over time, that lack of thoroughness became the norm. The final straw came with a serious issue involving a financing plan for my son's treatment. Although I agreed to an 18-month, no-interest plan, the office enrolled me in a 24-month plan with 26% interest. It took me four stressful weeks and numerous calls and emails (many unanswered) to get it fixed. At one point, I was even told the account could only be canceled if I opened a new one, which felt coercive and unprofessional. As a Deaf patient, I rely on email communication, yet messages often went ignored. Two years later, I still haven't received the final statement or an explanation for the mysterious $125 credit that I was supposedly owed. Our new dentist also questioned the amount of work that was recommended here -- and several of my son's fillings had to be redone because they had fallen out, costing us $750 out of pocket. She was efficient when taking the X-rays abs we all know how annoying biting on that plastic thing can be. She showed me my 3D digital scan of my teeth. My hygienist Lisa was so informative! She talked to me about my problem area and pre-warned me about what the Doctor might say about my wisdom teeth. I was comfortable the whole time and actually enjoyed the cleaning! I saw Dr. Tsai and he was great! He addressed my concerns about the crowding I have and the necessity of taking my wisdom teeth out. My experience mirrored another review I read afterward almost word for word--which only confirmed how common and systemic these tactics are at this office. Like that reviewer's husband, I came in for a routine cleaning fully covered by my insurance. Instead, I was subjected to over an hour of X-rays and sales pitches from a rotating cast of staff members, trying to push everything from Invisalign (because of a minor gap), to a deep cleaning, two crowns, a filling repair, and even a wisdom tooth extraction--all totaling nearly $7,000, of which $4,700 would be out-of-pocket. When I made it clear I was only there for a basic annual cleaning, they refused to perform it, saying the other (expensive) procedures needed to take priority. Let me be clear: this is completely unethical. Never in my life have I been denied a standard cleaning because I declined thousands of dollars in additional work I neither requested nor consented to. To make matters worse, they tried to pressure me into signing an "agreement to pay" form before even scheduling any appointment or obtaining my consent to treatment. The staff member downplayed it, saying it was "no big deal." I'm a contracts attorney--I knew better. The document was likely unenforceable, but their attempt to coerce a signature before care was even provided is utterly inappropriate and predatory. What's most disturbing is that this isn't an isolated incident. Other reviewers have had the exact same experience: baiting patients in with insurance-covered cleanings, then refusing care unless they agree to high-priced procedures and out-of-pocket costs. This practice is not only unprofessional--it's exploitative. This clinic places profit above patient care, and their tactics are misleading, high-pressure, and frankly, shameful. IF you select 5-star then it will prompt you to leave a Google review BUT if you select anything less than 5-star it will NOT ask for a review and it will send that info to them privately. This is a money grab and I plan to report him to the state. If you have had cavities filled from the dentist there is a possibility that you may have not had a cavity at all.
