I recently had family business to deal with and dropped in for a couple of beers. But that's not…read morethe whole story. On July 5th, I walked in and the place was packed. What I saw was a team that seamlessly worked together to make their customers feel seen and appreciated. It was like I watched an interpretive dance. If the bartender needed (for whatever reason) to step away from the bar, another employee filled her place. I even saw one employee asking the current bartender to teach her how to make a certain drink. I had the cheese curds, and they were so good that I asked for a to-go so I could share it with my family. Someone from the kitchen brought out my order. I said, "Please tell the chef that these are so good that they could be addictive." He smiled and said, "Thank you. I'm the chef." What I learned is that if I have a few sips of beer left in my glass, that's the time to let my server that I want another and perhaps the check (if that's the case).

Our waitress was knowledgeable and give us some good ideas. Water was good and so the selections were mostly typical. As you know, I don't drink they had a large variety of IPAs beers, other alcoholic beverages. They also have mocktails. He did an order of the cheese curds. They were very good at dipping sauce tasted great. I ordered a salad, which was OK and pork filled a bao buns which were very tasty and barbecue juice sauce is not too spicy not too sugary. The whole sauce was very good on the bottom. Just wish it was a bit more. Make sure you have that napkins cause it does leak juice. My Son had the fish and chips. The fish was really well done they say crunchy a good portion of fish. Fries were good too.

Lots of options during the summer when the dairy bar is open. Great pizza, as well. :)read more

This crazy little convenience store/cafe is a treasure in the remote rural hills along the Canadian…read moreborder. I had the opportunity to explore for a week around Fort Fairfield, Maine, and discovered there aren't a lot of choices for lunch. But, that doesn't matter, 'cause this drive up cafe is legit! I ate two lunches at R&J Market, and was delighted with their food and service. The first day I had trouble deciding if I wanted a burger or a chili dog, and was glad to know they offered a small, child size burger, allowing me to also order the chili dog without looking like a complete food hog. And this problem occurred: The burger wasn't really that small. I swear it was at least a quarter pounder on a buttered and grilled bun, that was delicious and perfectly grilled. The chili dog was a complete surprise! It was one of those super red, super tender dogs that look like a hot link, but isn't. And they served it on a buttered and grilled bun that was AMAZING! The next day I ordered the lobster roll and something called a doughboy. The lobster roll was filled with large chunks of lobster salad with their secret sauce and served on those buttery grilled hotdog buns. I enjoyed it! And that doughboy? Well, it was like an elephant ear drenched in buttery goodness, topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon ... talk about a guilty pleasure! I felt as though I was a boy at the county fair! This diner does not have to be as good as it is, because there is little competition. But that's not who these people are. These are people who believe in equality their food and love seeing the customers return with satisfaction every day. #TodaysDiscovery
