We popped into Canada for a quick day trip and asked one of the locals at an information center where should we eat? She recommended exit 153. Honestly, it was a fantastic choice. Once we pulled in and parked, we walked in, waited for about a minute or two and were seated in a comfortable seat and booth option. Our waitress was so friendly. I kind of giggled when she called us Americans. I've never heard myself described as that before lol but it was really nice talking to her and hearing about things and learning about the area we were near. The food was really good. The chicken salad was super moist and had a great savory taste. They had chicken noodle soup as the soup of the day. The chicken noodle soup was fantastic. I love the long noodles they used and the thick pieces of carrot. A lot of of the chicken used was white meat. I opted for the butter chicken bowl. The chicken was perfectly grilled with great flavor over a bit of rice with the butter sauce. The non-bread was heated nicely and the few cherry tomatoes really added to the dish. I squashed the cherry tomatoes with my fork which added a nice element to the dish. My husband said his chicken sandwich was the perfect crisp and he really enjoyed the exit 153 salad. Overall, our entire experience at exit 153 was fantastic . It is definitely going on our radar again if we happen to be in the area. Sidenote, extra bonus points for having an AED and an EpiPen available if ever needed . Normally, you only see AEDs in the states I've never seen an EpiPen. read more

I admit, I came here because it's near my Airbnb and they have a car charger (one out of three isn't bad). I was initially upset at the half an hour wait, but it was due to the eclipse traffic -- which is acceptable, because I'm also part of the problem, and won't be a problem again to almost everyone reading this now in 2024. Once I did get a bar seat, I found a short menu filled with many options I wanted. Service was prompt considering my fellow eclipse-goers, and I settled on their signature jalapeño burger. It came out reasonably quickly, and I've got to say that this was one of the best burgers I have ever had. I'm not even kidding. The vegetables were fresh even considering they're out of season. The bacon was cooked perfectly, and flaked off so I could enjoy a little later. There are no unadulterated jalapeños on this burger -- they're only in popper form -- but that was part of the draw. Though that was front and center as it should be, the beef and pork burger and seared bun provided a solid stage for the peppers. Red onion, spicy mayo, tomato, and pickles (spicy pickles?) were the supporting cast. If I had to gripe, I'd say the fries were a little soft and soggy. But they tasted great, so I'm not going to ding them for it. The beer selection was a little light, with a few empty taps -- but again, eclipse traffic -- but I picked a wonderful blueberry ale that complemented the umami and low-key spice of this meal. I'd give Exit 153 six stars if I could. But I can't, so here's your five-star review. One of the best burgers I've ever had. read more

Exit 153 is a quick hop over the border into Canada if you're in Mars hill, Maine. And what a great spot! Connected to a hotel in case you're traveling through. The food was delicious! We started with the homemade mozzarella sticks, which were gigantic! Then for our entrees, I got the roasted chicken pasta and my wife got the butter chicken, both were very delicious. Our Waitress was wonderful, she was very attentive and quick with a recommendation when we had a hard time deciding. There was plenty of comfortable seating. We will definitely be back! read more

I've eaten dinner here several times and it was great, I'm a fan of their chowder. But I had breakfast buffet today and it was disappointing. The bacon was perfect, but the eggs were masquerading as scrambled. They were dry, mealy and tasted funny. The biscuits were hard and dense. I preferred when their breakfast were sit down and ordered. Then i would get real eggs. read more

Nice servers. Very busy and long wait time ...as there isn't much in the area. Food was not great. I had the Thai beef noodles - fairly tasteless and watery noodles. The veg and beef were decent. Both this and the salmon salad portions were small. Kids meals were ok though the ice cream was freezer burnt. Breakfast was better - standard traditional egg and side breakfast. Several items were not available and the oatmeal was not good. read more

This company can't keep staff. they have a large turnover because of the management and owners and their lack of respect for employees. I witnessed several staff fired over their 3 years of business and staff were told they "didn't have to give reasons". I wouldnt support this company if it was the last restaurant in town based on how they treat people !!!!!!!!!!!! and they DO not care about food quality !!!!!!!!! ive listened to the own owners of the company sit at a table and bad mouth the food coming out of their own kitchen MANY times !!!!!! read more
