decided to try a new salon for my haircuts. I had long (mid back) hair length that's thick. Kate was my stylist. I asked for 3 inches off and long layers and to fix my face framing pieces. She was so nice and most importantly made my hair look amazing. She did exactly as I asked and didn't take off more or less than I wanted. Absolutely unprofessional. I had an appointment at 4pm and drove 30 mins to the salon and as I was on my way, Hayley texted she was running 30 mins behind so I said no problem. Once I arrived and parked at the salon I received a call from them saying they would have to reschedule me bc the client that they had is taking longer than expected. I booked this appointment weeks ago and had to hire a sitter as well. I don't understand why they couldn't start on me while they finish up with the other client? That's what other salons usually do. I got my hair done by Hayley and she completely messed up. Let me start with saying that I am a hairstylist but wanted a client experience so I went to a salon. I wanted to add some dimension to my blonde hair. Hayley made it very ashy and grey looking and because she did a fine slice and weave instead of medium weaves it gave me an allover darker look and and minimal dimension. Super fine slices/weaves don't create dimension. Hayley just justified her her work even though in the picture of my hair it is clearly ashy and lacking dimension. I spoke with the owner and was treated awfully! They only refunded $153 of my $318 ticket. And they even threatened legal action against me for leaving this review. I went to The District Salon for beaded row hair extensions and it was the worst experience of my entire life at a hair salon. I paid $750 for Bellami Hair that was color matched wrong and I paid another $700 ($70 tip upon initial install before many errors were discovered!) for install of the hair which was also done wrong by the owner Mikka. The hair was installed so poorly that another hair stylist told me I had scalp retraction occurring, I had red sore spots on my head, and the company who certified Mikka told me they would reinstall at no cost. My hair was installed too far towards the top initially, two rows were then sewn together, all while I have red painful sores. I was unable to flip the hair upward into a ponytail (the entire purpose of sew in extensions) AND had to pay to have my hair match the extensions she matched me for. Mikka refunded me $350 of roughly $1450 spent for this absolute disaster- I should've been refunded entirely. It was the worst experience not only because of the hair but because I am out so much money and am completely left by myself to find someone to fix it. I have attached photos. This is my go to salon. I see Olivia and she's helped me to get my hair the healthiest it's ever been. I'm currently in a 2-3 step process to do a blonde with caramel lowlights and she walked me through the steps we'll take. She created a plan that would make it so my hair was wearable throughout the various stages (first stage was do full blonde), and it's awesome! Loved my experience at The District yesterday! I went in for a haircut with Brittany, which felt risky without a direct referral, but I was SO pleased. The sweet receptionist sent me her way, assuring me that Brittany was a haircut specialist and would take great care for me. She was absolutely right. I am loving my haircut! I appreciate that the stylists here don't rely on assistants to shampoo or blow dry clients, so you're with the same person throughout the appointment. The owners are also stylists in the salon, which I believe makes a huge difference. Beautiful space, fun atmosphere without being too hectic. I just suggest getting there a few minutes early to find parking, which can be tight. read more

Could not have had a better experience. I was recommended this salon and my stylist Francesca by my boss and she did not disappoint. She was helpful, professional, easy to talk to, and really listened to what I wanted! While I didn't fully know how to articulate what I was looking for, Francesca helped talk me through it, taught me about my hair, and helped me find products that suit me. And I mean it when I say, I have never been happier with a haircut. First of all the interior of the salon is gorgeous and when I called for the first time, the front desk receptionist was super helpful and helped me book my first consultation with Conor. Bad coloring experience this week and I'm told I may not get my money back. Spent $130 for apparently over-processed highlights, too many highlights, disturbingly dry hair from the chemical, and not the color I wanted. Being told that the shop has a no-refunds policy leads me to believe that the customer service at The District is also not what many of us would like. read more

I moved and I love my new stylist Katelyn. She listens to what I want and makes suggestions that are always helpful. It's also reassuring when your stylist looks good too, she's cute and friendly. She was so nice to help get me in before I have surgery and even more importantly, she did such a great job on my hair!
