Called last night with a little bit of confusion about the packages I had previously purchased and expiration time. Decided to come in person this morning and speak with the manager, Sky, myself and she was beyond helpful. Not only did she answer my questions and sort out the issue, she was able to get me in for a spray tan on the spot. So far so good, color is developing perfectly for my trip! When I visited the North Georgia mountains I decided to stay and not return to Fort Walton Beach. I asked Palm Beach Tan to return my credited money. They refused and stated I signed away that money when I joined and was only due an in store credit for their over priced items. When I asked what happens to my money if I can't return. As you can see from the email chain they did not have the decency to respond to that question. Just know Palm Beach Tan will steal your money if you are unable to return for an over priced in store credit. My response to Palm Beach Tan. So if I no longer live in the area and can't recoup my credit then Palm Beach tan just keeps "Your" money. That is not a good business plan and leads me to file a complaint with the state of Florida and explain what is being done with "MY" money as well as put this under Palm Beach reviews wherever possible. Sad that Palm Beach would do this over $56.00 regardless of what a member signs. Sounds just like what happens to people when they sign a shady gym membership. This place will steal your money. I paid for 3 tans and they only gave me 2, I confirmed thw last time I was here that I had one left. They said no, there is nothing you can do! they offered a new 3 pack for $75, then after I said I would purchase that they said it went back to $90.... really, in 2 mins?? Why was the special offered and not honored. After having this service here for years, I will find a new tan salon. These guys are crooks!! read more

Today was only my second visit so I can't say anything about billing practices or issues pertaining membership cancellation, so I will be sure to come back and update review if and when those things pop up. I can say that using a coupon from this very site I was able to secure a 14.95 monthly membership that they tell me I can cancel at any time. There was a $20 start up fee, just a one time fee of $20. I did buy my tanning lotion here and paid $30 for it, however I was not pressured. I made the decision ahead of time that if it was really only going to be a 14.95 charge that I would buy their lotion as opposed to going to Walmart or whatever and buying a $10 bottle. I can't say that any tanning lotion is worth $30 a bottle but sometimes product does matter and they seem to carry the higher end products here. The gentleman who assisted me with setting up my membership, Devin, was completely zero pressure to buy anything, he was just super helpful and actually helped me pick one of the least expensive lotions (after asking how much I wanted to spend) and never, ever tried to pressure me to upgrade the products or the bed. Apparently they have swankier beds you can get for more money but the basic, Level 1 bed is fine for my fair skin so I literally have a $14.95/Mth membership. So far I'm completely pleased , the place is superduper clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. Like I said, if anything changes I will update. read more

Came in and the manager was working the front desk, she tried to up sell me on EVERYTHING for absolutely no reason, put me in the bed for too long and when I spoke to someone about being burned from going there, I was advised by a former MANAGER that she had me in the bed for way too long and the price I paid for everything was extreme. she was worrying about commission, and not my experience. won't be returning to this location. read more

Since Mother Nature is not cooperating to let me get a base tan on the weekends before summer actually arrives, I have been forced to take matters into my own hands. I am not really a tanning girl. I think my last tanning experience was in 1994. Things have changed a lot. The salon is very clean and nice. They definitely do the whole sales things about the lotions but, honestly, some of them are not very expensive and I do like the natural bronzer. And they smell good. The beds are great. There are a lot of rooms with beds and I love that I can get in and out quickly and only spend a few minutes in the bed. I remember when I used to be able to catch a nap in the bed. Times do change. I would definitely recommend this place. I don't plan on going here for too long but I might even consider reactivating my membership in the wintertime just to cheer me up a little. read more

Just moved from California and needed to find a good tanning salon. Came across here via Google and good reviews. The employees are nice and remember me already. Yes, there's an activation fee, which is completely common. They offer a great discount on products at sign up. I still have my lotion so didn't need any at the time however. Prices are super reasonable and they provide goggles and towels. Very clean! And of course they're gonna ask if you want to buy products...it's their job! So I don't mind when they solicit the products. We all gotta make a living! :) read more

Dear Ashley K, I'm dissapointed in your review because I have had the complete opposite experience. I have been to this location on numerous occasions and I have seen the "chubby red head" that you speak of and she is the nicest employee. Not only to me but to other customers. Maybe if you didn't go in the salon with such an attitude and thought you are better than people because you might be smaller than said "chubby red head". Also if you are a broke college student, then why are you even tanning at a salon. Priorities sweetheart, priorities. Here's where I don't get your complaint of having to pay $30 for a week. A single session costs $11. So if you went every day for a week then you would pay $77. So I see deal. A month's membership is $25. So, why wouldn't you get a month's membership. You are in college??? You need to re-evaluate your attitude and put your energy into basic math. read more

I originally felt like I got a great value. I bought 3 spray tans for $75 in August 2018 at this location. The first one I used and was a great color for my fair skin... however, I went into a Chicago location to use the second one in October 2018 and was told that packages do not transfer markets (couldn't use them in Chicago - my name didn't even show up in the system). This was most upsetting because I specifically had asked that question here in Atlanta. I travel a lot and I'm very careful to ask these questions knowing I wouldn't use two more in Atlanta, and I'm super disappointed that I was sold a package that will now go to waste!!! :( My advice is to be VERY cautious of memberships and packages. Never again will I go to Palm Beach Tan. I had a spray tan done and it completely turned me orange last Sunday. I had to go to school orange for 2 days. It took 3 days to get in touch with the manger. She gave me a free spray tan. I redid my spray tan on Wednesday because prom was that Saturday. I even paid $10 for this cream to even your tan out when it comes off. Not only was it still orange, but Friday it was PEELING off. I had to go Friday night AND SPEND $40 more and get a self tan done and that worked perfectly for prom. DO NOT GO HERE FOR A SPRAY TAN! read more

I signed a contract with this outfit and every month they deducted funds from my account. And the prices went upr $100/month. Easy? Just wait until you want to cancel....you cannot do it in the store. You have to send a certified letter to an out of state address which they will get to you. Long story....I called my credit card company and objected to the charges and they finally stopped .....NO matter what kind of deal they offer you, no auto deduction on your credit card. I now use Australian tan o n Peachtree Ind.. blvd -They are 19.99-29.99/ per month and you can pay as you go. Do not let them talk you into purchasing a lot of products either....even if they are so excited and confused. read more

I like Palm Beach Tan. I have used them since the 90s, maybe even the 80s. Things sure have changed, mostly for the good. The only 2 complaints I have is 1) the Georgia hours are HORRIBLE! Texas (Plano) hours are 6-11. Georgia hours are 7-10. I really wish they had longer hours. Second, in 2008 diamond membership was less than $100. I am thinking it may have been $75, PLUS you got a $50 credit on lotion once a quarter. Prices are not as good now read more

Not coming back again. I've always loved this place until earlier this week. A chubby redhead employee told me they didn't have the week membership anymore, just the $25 month-that was fine even though I would only use it for about a week. She gave me attitude because I didn't want to buy some kind of lotion etc. I have a friend who works for this company and told me the "tricks" they use to get people to buy products, so I knew what she was doing and I wasn't interested. She then told me about a 5$ fee when I was already paying more than I planned to, $30 for a week? No thank you. She then says with an attitude "....its 5 dollars". I'm a college student. I don't need to be spending 30$ on a week tan, so I left. I didn't need to give her an explanation of any kind. She then opted me out of it and said "Is the tax ok" and I proceeded to tell her that I changed my mind and wanted my card back. I wonder how she is with other people? read more

This establishment does not even deserve one star! I signed up for a membership because I was told I had to, to tan there in June or July of 2014. I wanted to tan before my wedding in August of 2014. The last time I actually tanned was the day before my wedding. I didn't cancel my membership after the wedding as I forgot, fast forward 8 months to April 2015, I realize hey palm beach tan is still charging me $50.00 a month and I haven't even been in there in 8 months! I then decide well they've received hundreds of dollars from me I want to try spray tanning so I will go in and get a spray tan, I mean I have been paying for a membership I do not utilize. When I got there the young lady at the front had not a clue to what she was doing she said she was new and she was the only working at the time, it took her at least 10 mins to locate me in the system when she did she said that I owed them money as my payments each month were coming back insufficient funds I pulled up my bank statements showed her where several payments came out including one for march I explained I hadn't even been using their facility so if a couple payments did not come out what's the difference, she then told me ok yes you're right I do see you have not been here in 8 months, you will have to pay $20.00 to upgrade to spray. I said ok and paid it, then she said I don't know how to work this computer it wont let me sign you in you cant spray. After I had just paid her the $20.00! So I said you know what forget it I want to cancel my membership I filled out the form. I told her I wanted to speak with a manager she said she would have one call me....no one ever called so I called the store myself a few days later the girl I spoke with at the location in Amarillo said she had not a clue to what I was talking about and she would have someone call me....and of course I never heard from anyone. So I got online and wrote a email explaining my situation finally someone called me back. The lady was very nice I told her I would be willing to sign a new membership and switch to the spray tan package if she credited my account with palm beach (not refund me any money taken for all the months I did not use the facility) but to clear my account for the few payments that did not go through. She said ok and said I could sign new papers when I came to get my spray tan....I never went in for the spray tan as my husband got a job offer out of town about a month later! I have moved from Amarillo I can not go to the facility to sign another paper to cancel my membership again!! I am still being charged for this membership I haven't even used in over a year now! I have called palm beach tans 1800 number, my husband has called them, we have called the store. I have gotten someone to return our call twice both times while I'm at work I try to call them back several times and get no answer!!! All I want is for my account to stop being charged and the last two payments taken refunded as the account they are drawing from we just started using again and they keep causing the account to be overdrawn!! Causing us outrageous fees! So my recommendation DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP UNLESS YOU WANT TO CONTINUE TO PAY FOR IT EVEN AFTER CANCELLING!! I am currently waiting for someone to call me back once again as a payment was taken from my account again this morning!!! So so frustrated. read more
