    Jayco, a Landseer Newfy

My rating of one star is even too much. I boarded Jayco for the 25th and the 26th of April due to I had to have knee surgery in Silverdale. On the 27th I called and went to pick him up from the Dog & I Grooming and Boarding. Their daily fee was $40.00 a day, ok, I thought, but when I got there they told me without a bill that the fee now is $250.00. They said he broke thru the gate of the kennel breaking the lock and then peeing in their kitchen and pulling papers off their counter. Wow!!!To me it seems like they where not watching my dog for needing to pee or seeing to his needs. His food bowl of witch I brought in for them to use was given back so filthy with mud on the bowl. Plus, my dog had mud on him to the top of his legs and bottom of his chest. They said the fee increased due to the broken lock and the peeing in the kitchen and papers on the floor from the counter. I was furious and I SO do not recommend them to anyone that cares about their pet. A big 0!!! Joan Reynolds from Port Townsend. They even misplaced my $45.00 leash I just bought him and did not even care!!!

We are VERY particular about where we leave our dogs when we travel. After looking around at the…read morevarious options in the area we were referred to Dog Townsend by a woman who runs one of the pet food stores. The couple who owns and operates this place is from New York and they have a real love for dogs and a special understanding of how to create a safe, fun and harmonious environment for groups of dogs. In essence it's like a dog park but with a large staff making sure every one plays nice and has a good time. We have left our boys there twice now, the first time for a few days and the second for 16. Both times they have come home tired and happy and pretty stress free. The second time we took them they couldn't wait to get out of the car and go play - it was clear that they have good associations with Dog Townsend and that's what I like to see when I am entrusting them to someone else. In addition to structured play times they offer special little services, like massages and dedicated fetch sessions and nature walks. They'll also clean Fido up if you order the shampoo service. This is helpful! I also love the little daily reports that they fill out so you get a sense of what your little guys have been up to. The staff is across the board nice, warm and truly interested in the dogs. Nice feeling there. Beautiful flock of exotic chickens running around, too. My dogs love watching them. Place is very clean and the play space is a large covered outdoor area that they separate into different playgrounds. They group dogs according to "play tastes". Smaller dogs can be grouped together and over time they figure out who plays well with whom. It's a healthy and fun environment for all the dogs. And the place is just really beautiful. Really a great option for people who love their dogs.

It's quite awesome to see a large group of dogs and no one is barking. They also have a separate area for little dogs and they love to pet and cuddle your dog ( the cuddly ones).

Our dogs have done group classes, privates and even live-in training with Kori. She is very educated in dog behavior, she is gentle and takes each personality into consideration. We have a year old German Shepard mix named Lobo that we got from Mexico at four months old. He has always had extreme anxiety issues and we have never understood why he becomes so anxious. We even did several years of training with both of our dogs at a different facility and lost a ton of money with minimal results. Then we met Kori!! The most incredible results with Kori came from a series of three days Lobo stayed with Kori and her fur babies. Her pack totally accepted Lobo and she was so devoted to finding some solutions and reasoning towards Lobos actions. Lobo has horrible anxiety, does a ton of mouthing and is very protective of his pack. We learned from Kori that lobo acts this way due to the wild dog he is likely descendant of. Kori taught us a whole heap of tips and tricks to help us help Lobo. We also were having huge problems with my sisters dog attacking our smaller dog Dory. This attacking went on for weeks and we couldn't figure out why every time my sisters dog came in the house she went straight at Dory. Kori did a home visit, walked in and in 15 minutes of watching the five dogs interact she told us exactly what was starting the reaction, why and how scary it was due to how and where my dog was being attacked. Needless to say the news wasn't good but if it wasn't for Kori's extensive knowledge of dog behavior we never would have figured out why and may have lost my pup. Kori is a vital and loved member of our pack and I will never stop being great-full and amazed by her knowledge of animals.

I brought my Morkie in, for what I suspected was a possible ear infection, thankfully it wasn't. I told the assistant, I didn't feel confident when cleaning his ears. I always feel that I'm going to hurt him. She took the time to explain the setup and supplies I would need, then Dr.George walked me through the process and so forth. I know something so simple, but I walked out that morning feeling more informed and confident about caring for my little one. To the assistant, sorry I forgot your name but YOU WERE AMAZING! Recently, my littlest cat was acting very weird and stopped eating over a period of a few days. I thought it might be because of the heat wave we were having at the time, but when she got increasingly lethargic and started hiding, I got worried and called Chuckanut Valley. They got us right in! After quite a bit of poking and prodding, not to mention a full panel of tests, it was determined that my cat was likely just hot. It was a pretty expensive diagnosis, but I was relieved it wasn't something worse. The doctors and staff here are always so loving and kind. And while their prices are definitely premium (aren't all vets?) I do appreciate they have prescription meds on hand when I need them for my pets, and offer discounts if you offer full diagnostic panels. I am so happy to have found them!
