Came in Monday afternoon quarter past 1 pm. Mostly empty inside, acknowledged by the bartender who mentioned the "back door is open" and so, we sauntered out looking for a seat. There was a lady working the patio, we found a table without an umbrella and waited a few. And a few more A few more Finally, I told ma, I'd head in to use the washroom and grab a menu on my way back if she hadn't been tended to. Annnd she hadn't. Same chick working the patio now behind the bar. I asked for 2 menus. She gave me what I interpreted to be a surprised look. Out to the patio I go. Ma and I decided what we wanted. We waited. Mind you, at this point, there hadn't even been a drink order to keep us there. A table in the shade opened up. The bar tender from when we first came in permitted us to move. Where we waited some more. That gentleman then asked directly "are you looking to order?" I acknowledged. He acknowledged. He then came out 3 more times looking at me while moving on. At that point, it had been 35 mins. Ma only wanted a drink and I could get food literally anywhere. We had a chance to sit in the marina and enjoy the view, which is the 1 star. Food is solid but service is lacking. Took 30 min to get our food at lunch and only 4/5 tables were occupied. Pop was flat and machine apparently not working. We received expired bottle drinks to replace those drinks. Eventually waitress had to run to upstairs restaurant to get proper pop. Crazy. Otherwise waitress was nice and venue has a great view. Blazing fast service (It was 9pm), good food, and affordable prices. Had a good time here after a nice walk around the area beforehand. Wish they had a wider range of drinks! Overall, I'd like to come here again and try their burgers-- I had their wings and fish&chips! read more

The lakeview is of course nice but the establishment can be cleaner. Some food remains are on the floor. The service was slow and the cocktail drinks (manhattan, Long Island iced tea) were quite awful. It's unfortunate and a real shame. read more

I had a glass of wine and burger with fries. The best burger I've tasted in a very long time with smoked bacon and cheddar cheese. The fries were crispy and fresh. The view of the boats coming in and the seabirds were so mellow and relaxing. Overall, the service was excellent and very pleasant. I highly recommend the dogfish. read more

Really great spot on the water at the foot of the Scarborough Bluffs, nice patio, free parking, friendly staff. To echo some other reviews here, service was slow ... I don't see that as an issue with the servers, they were friendly with us, but the space was understaffed today - that's on ownership. Lost a star for falling prey to Toronto's inability to deliver a non-greasy British style fish n' chips. Just because you're on the water doesn't mean that you do fish well. People should think good tempura when they think fish n' chips - light and crispy, not soggily soaked in oil. Change the oil in your fryer a bit more guys. read more

The staff is rude and the owner is rude too. Service is extremely slow and we felt like were left forgotten. When having a beer waiting for the food, the manager came and grabbed our condiments in such a rude manner without any explanations. We figured they probably thought we were not ordering food, so went and told the waitress that we are waiting for the fish and chips please don't take the condiments. What shocked us was their rude attitude. The first waitress asked "what's the big deal if you don't have food on your table"?? The manager came later and lectured us again " what is the big deal if there is no food on your table"?, she went on that she had been there managing for 20 years and we only there for 15 minutes therefore she knew it better than us ... excuse me... first we were waiting for the beers and food for almost an hour and secondly no respectful bar/restaurant manager would ever talk to customers in such a rude manner. Furthermore, the so called owner came out defending his employees again questioning his customers what the big deal was. Today was a beautiful afternoon to be outside, on the edge of a Marina, watching the boats and having a nice regular coffee. This place is all about location. Went for lunch yesterday with my friends. It was probably one of the worst experiences I have had in awhile. Servers were arguing with the bartender and kitchen staff. Our server was nice but didn't bring items that we asked for (It happens I get it but we reminded her) then tried to charge us for it. The food looked amazing in the images we saw online but I had the nachos for $14 and it was a mix of stale chips no cheese and like a jar of jalapeños tossed on top. Not worth $14 or even $5.00 I didn't even finish it. All that aside what really stood out as the sole reason I wouldn't ever go back was after my friend had pod her bill and the sever had given her change back my friend put it on table. The server asked if she was going to keep it or could she have it. In all of my years of working the service industry I have NEVER heard or seen a server do that. It is completely inappropriate and quite honest rude. It also gives servers a bad name. While I am all about tipping and tipping well for great service it is still my choice what I chose to leave for you and you do not get to ask for it in that manner. read more

Great place at the yacht club where you can eat some fairly decent food and a fairly decent price. The fries are extremely tasty. The view is very relaxing as well. The staff is friendly. Just watch out for seagulls if you eat outside. read more

We've eaten at the Dogfish frequently but today was a terrible experience. We just went for beer and nachos. The nachos took an inordinate amount of time to prepare (and the resto was dead) and when they arrived, they were pretty much bereft of cheese. Worst Nachos EVER. Will not be returning there. If you screw up something as easy as nachos, you fail to get my return business. read more

If I could score less, I would. Spent over 20 minutes sitting on the patio this evening, without so much as a nod. There were a few people at the bar and only 2 other tables. The waitress dropped something and did a clean-up. We saw a least 3 other staff members inside. They were totally aware of us, they just chose to ignore us. So we walked. We went to Buster's by the Bluffs pub at Kingston and Warden, unfortunately, their kitchen was closed, but, they recommended Andrew's at KR and Birchmount, so we went there and it was great! Dogfish Pub & Eatery is close to the house we're renting while visiting Toronto so we gave it a shot last night (Saturday). I'm SO happy we did! They offer great views of the lake and boats coming in to dock. The owner and staff were super nice and the service was great. The pub is immaculately clean, which is a huge thing with me. We shared pulled pork dirty poutine, calamari, and a fried fish dinner. Everything was perfect. And the portions are huge. They have a nice selection of local craft beers, and Cuban rum, a treat for us Americans. A true highlight of our trip! Thank you, Jon and Lisa for making us feel at home. read more

In the past there were several less greasy option, now there is not a single thing I would consider eating. I tried to give constructive feedback to the new management and was rebuffed rudely. Well I have to give it one star just to be able to post my review so I'll give the 1 rating to clean cutlery. Other than that it's all down hill from there. First, it's under new management as of a couple of weeks. Same management opened the restaurant above the Dogfish a few months back which wasn't great either so I'm not sure why we expected any better downstairs. Arrived around 8:20pm on Friday. Seated we asked for a wine list which there was none put together so they brought over a bunch of bottles and put them on the table for us to choose. I knew of one bottle that I can buy at the LCBO for $21 - their mark up was $50.00. I'm all for restaurants making money but maybe pick wines that you know I DON'T KNOW THE PRICE so it's not such a rub. This whole process with the wine took 25 minutes since our waitress wondered off and gave the task to someone else to deal with. Mainly because she couldn't speak English and had a difficult time explaining the wine options. The wine was room temp and we had to open it ourselves since the waitress just plopped it on the table and left. Okay, now to the food which took another 15 minute to get that done. Once ordered the waitress came back to inform us that the restaurant will be closing at 10pm. It's after 9pm we haven't even gotten our meal yet and she's telling us this. Nice! The food is mediocre at best. McCain fries and a sandwich thrown on a plate. Nothing against the staff AT ALL but I truly blame management for not training their people. There was no management on the floor that night to complain to. It was the same experience upstairs. Will not be going back!!! They have a great location and could do so much with it but wow, the experience was beyond giving them a second chance. read more
