The lakeview is of course nice but the establishment can be cleaner. Some food remains are on the floor. The service was slow and the cocktail drinks (manhattan, Long Island iced tea) were quite awful. It's unfortunate and a real shame.

Great view, excellent service and food arrived quickly! The patio was lovely. We had mozzarella sticks and fried pickles for an appetizer which were amazing! Our meals all hit the spot.

My friend brought me here and says good things about this restaurant. She's very right! We ordered seafood pasta and it was delicious. The coffee is just right. Great atmosphere. Lisa provided us a wonderful service with a smile & we were lucky with beautiful weather no cloud in sky. Sitting outside listening to birds singing near water

Sometimes you walk into a place and you instantly fall in love…read more Lonely Diner is just such a place. It's got this '70s rec-room basement vibe that I personally find completely irresistible. If I had a house, I'd want at least one room that looks exactly like what Lonely Diner's got going on. And fortunately, the drinks and food live up to the incredible atmosphere. I started out with the Haw Yeah ("Rum blend, amaro meletti, pernod, hawflakes, high octane black sugar falernum, mulberry grenadine, lime"), which is a delicious spin on a typical tiki drink. I've ordered it twice now, and it's satisfied me completely on both occasions. Another favorite for me is the Lucky Numb-er 8 ("Gin, pomello & lemongrass gentian, cocchi americano, dry vermouth, sichuan peppercorn tincture"), which is their spin on a white Negroni. It's so damn good. It's packed with flavor and definitely reminds me of a Negroni, but like better than any Negroni I've ever had. If that wasn't impressive enough, the food is terrific too. I tried one of their specials, the Wasabi Fried Chicken Sandwich ("Sichuan peppercorn battered fried chicken with a wasabi spiced caesar dressing and anchovies on a brioche bun"), on my latest visit and it's so, so good. The perfectly cooked and impressively juicy chicken is accompanied by an incredibly flavorful assortment of accouterments. I inhaled it, pretty much. The servers at Lonely Diner are super friendly and helpful, too. I love Lonely Diner. I hope it sticks around for a long, long time.

For my drink, I got the Forbidden Fruit and my friend chose the Haw Yeah. I thought my drink was ok, nothing great. My friend's drink was definitely better than mine. We also shared their Lotus Root Chips as a snack. It was pretty good with the dipping sauce. A cool cocktail place to visit.

They take reservations and also accept walk-ins. If you reserve online, it comes with a Miracle toque (not sold separately). If you do a walk-in, they add a $5 cover charge for each person added to the bill (part of it goes to charity). We went right at opening time, during its opening weekend, and we were seated right away. There was a short lineup (it will get busier as it gets closer to holiday season and Christmas in December). The decorations were very spot on - all decked with Christmas glitters, Christmas tree, Santa Claus statue, beautifully and uniquely decorated wreaths adorning the walls, and more. There was a photo booth, but the photo quality at the booth was terrible (the camera lens seemed fogged up and had a layer of weird purple). It was better to take photos with your own phone / camera. The menu consisted of a combination of creative Christmas-themed cocktails, mocktails, shots, and some classics such as hot chocolate, wine, and beer. Unlike the original location on Bloor where they serve only drinks, this location at Harbourfront serves food as well (pizza, sausage roll, and Santa Claus pancake brunch every Saturday which is a ticketed event). Our table got different kinds of hot chocolate - the fancy one ("Snow Day Slipper" mocktail - with chocolate hazelnut & coconut syrup, coconut whipped cream, and cacao dust) and the regular ones (with and without dairy). I got the regular hot chocolate, and it was delicious without being overly sweet. All of them were served in cute Santa Claus mugs. They sell their Christmas mugs and glasses. If you order one of the shots, you get to take the shot glass home. Overall everything was perfect - from the service (very friendly staff who were willing to take photos of your group, and kept checking in on us to make sure we were taken care of) and the Christmas decorations (great photo ops), to the overall ambiance (fun night out with friends) and drinks menu (had both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options). Great pop-up venue to get you in the mood for the holiday season!

The food was nothing special. For the price the charge, what they offer is not at all worth it. There were just a few pancakes (the kind you could easily make at home from a powder mix) with a small amount of topping. Some items were served in the same bowl, which was very unhygienic. There was only a small amount of cheese, and when we arrived, it was almost gone. Everything felt like leftovers, which was quite disgusting. There was also just tap water and orange juice, and that was it. If you want any other drink you have to pay extra. Overall, the experience was very poor. I will never come back Or recommend to anybody. My kids were very upset, and honestly, there was nothing that justified the price they asked.

We ordered the oden set with yogurt soju, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and the salmon fried udon with uni sauce. Everything was super comforting and flavorful, especially the oden on a cold night. What really made it stand out was the bingo game. It got the whole bar involved and made the night feel more interactive and social. But unfortunately, this time we got a bit disappointed. Platter was filled with cheap/frozen fries that I don't event want to put it in my system. Salmon udon looked so sad, and we couldn't finish it. Cocktail was not bad though. I liked their lighting and decorations. The server looks cute but doesn't seem to be knowledgeable when we had questions (and keep forgot our requests..) I support local businesses and hate to say this. But probably I may not come back anymore as now there are many other fusion bar options available in North York. *This is only personal opinion, and your experience might be different. We ordered the Lychee Bliss and Smokey Sapphire. It took almost 20 mins before we received our drinks and by the time we got it, our dinner table was ready. My lychee drink was quite good and tasted like a mild flavored lychee. My only complaint is they added a large ice cube in the coupe martini glass which I have never had before in all the martini style glasses of cocktails I've had (very odd to us). It left very little room for the actual liquid which only gave me a few sips. My partner did enjoy his at least..
