I already loved this little store in Millcreek as they carry high quality items vs. the cheap stuff at the big box stores, however, today really made me appreciate them even more. I stopped by to return a can of food that we got for our little girl as a last ditch effort when she stopped eating (we never opened it as things took a bad turn while we were out and we ended up putting her down). They were very sweet to me about the circumstances and the return was easy - they just looked up my account since I didn't have the receipt. But that's not what impressed me - as I was leaving the store, two people walked in without masks and were both immediately asked to put on masks to enter the store. The sales associates were nice about it but also firm in that they were required to put on a mask. Makes me feel like they care about customer health and makes the shopping experience feel safer. Please continue to support these small businesses, especially now when they need us the most. Big box stores aren't going away anytime soon, but if we don't support our local small retailers, we may end up with just strip malls full of big box stores that sell mainly lower quality cheap items. read more

I am crazy about dogs. So much so, that at one point in my life I'd actually cook home made food for my pup. Life eventually got in the way of that - and I needed to find a more practical way of feeding my best pal Pepper. So - I started on a crazy woman search for the best quality dog food possible. Went through a few brands, and my dog and I finally landed on Taste of the Wild. I was ordering the food online through Chewy - but after being late one time - I checked around town to see who carried that brand. THAT'S when I found the Dog's Meow! The store is clean and well organized. They had a WIDE array of high-quality dog food brands. And lots of TREATS! I brought my furry pal with me, and she was also super impressed. Not only scored some scooby snacks, but found a set of dog booties for 50 percent off. SCORE!! Bottom line: If you're looking for good quality dog food, or if your furry pal is just picky - check em out! read more

The Dog's Meow carries all the very best brands of dog and cat food. They have a great selection with many flavors of each brand, and you can pick up a whole case of canned food. The prices are only slightly higher than you can find online, so to me it is definitely worth it to support a local business and avoid shipping charges. I haven't really explored the rest of their products but it looks like they have a great selection of pet beds, toys, food bowls... everything you need for your pet! read more

The Dog's Meow is that kind of place! Not only did they have exactly what I was looking for...(two different high quality brands of dog food - something that is not easy to find!)... but Taylor who was working today, steered me to the best sizes for my dog's health and needs. I was greeted with a hello and a friendly smile when I entered... she was knowledgeable and helpful...and enrolled me in their loyalty program in seconds with no forms, no muss, no fuss. Love this place. They are super helpful and personable. Recently my vet recommended that my dog have a rare surgery (Vulvaplasty) I asked one of the owners at Dog's Meow if she'd heard of this type of surgery or knew any dog owners who had. She was kind enough to connect me with one who had the surgery for her dog. It was super helpful to talk to someone who'd gone through the process. I was looking up specialty pet stores, trying to find a healthier brand of dog food for my dog, and was so glad I found this place. They have a HUGE selection of dog food brands like California Natural, Innova, and Taste of the Wild; they also have a wide variety of healthy treats and organic bones and chews that my dog loves. Their toys are a little expensive, but they do have a great selection. (I still go to Petco for toys sometimes because it's a bit cheaper and my dog tends to just destroy them anyway.) But! I won't go anywhere else to buy food or treats for my dog! The staff is really knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They love dogs and will help with any questions you have about your pet's diet and overall well being. :D read more

New favorite pet store. I used to grab Pure Vita cat food from West Mountain Healthy Pet store. After we told them how Pure Vita cured our cat's diarrhea problem, they raised the price. Since their price is almost similar as Amazon's, we just order it from online. I saw someone reviewed Dog's Meow about their healthy pet food. Sure, why not check it out! It is so much cheaper and they told me Pure Vita company has a special, the 12th purchase is free. I will take that deal and save more money! They just earned a long-term customer! read more

Excellent selection of high quality cat and dog food. I feed my cat Rad Cat raw food as well as Orijen dry food. This store has a good selection of good brands--Wellness, Evo, etc. Their displays are clean and prices are reasonable. I also like their frequent buyer program--no need for punch cards or coupons--all my information is stored in their computer. My only suggestion is that I wish they were open a little later on weekdays or for a few hours on Sunday. Sometimes, it's difficult for me to make it down to Millcreek on Saturdays or before 6:30 pm on weekdays. read more

I ended up at Dog's Meow after beginning a search for corn-free, gluten-free dog food. My dog had been having a number of stomach issues and other side effects. I did a lot of homework and thought I knew which food I wanted. When I went in I explained what I was looking for and the staff actually recommended something different. They provided a lot of information about the food they recommended and why it is their top pick. We are now 3 bags in and my dog's symptoms are significantly better. It is expensive but so far it's worth it. I totally recommend this place to friends. read more

This shop is awesome! The employees there really make a difference. They are warm and knowledgeable and have recommended several great products for my picky little pup. They are generous in offering samples for us to try out and we've had some success in finding nutritious, tasty foods for my little dog. It's such a wonderful, personal shop. I highly recommend this place!!! I have been shopping here for years for my sweet Alfies food, treats, tincture etc. The owner and staff have always been excellent. They have top healthy food and products and have helped me decide which are best for my most precious pups. Yesterday the dogs were completely out of dog food, my husband was out of town working and I was so ill I couldn't walk let alone drive. I called the Dogs Meow and explained my situation and the gal was so kind and willing to do whatever she could to help me out and get my dogs fed. We ended up doing the transaction over the phone, she pulled up my account, knew brand and size of food, applied my points discount, paid over phone, pulled it off the shelf and I had a friend deliver the kibble to me. Tucked away in the corner of the small strip of shoppes that has survived Canyon Rim for decades, the Dog's Meow is unassuming on the outside. The store itself isn't huge, certainly not by comparison to the Wal-Mart of pet stores (PetCo/PetSmart), but the items are not commonly found elsewhere. They have this feather cat toy (string connected to rod with a little "bird" that makes a whoosh noise, I believe it's called Go Cat Da Bird) that drives felines absolutely wild. They also have different pet food brands that are specialty and probably better for your pet, I don't know enough either way to have a comment of value here. More than anything, the staff were very friendly despite my being "that guy" that comes in 15 minutes before close with cat questions. read more

I just moved here from CA and I was looking for a good place to get healthy cat food for my cat who is 16 years old. I read a few reviews here on yelp about this place, and although it is located about 15 minutes away from where I live, it is very worth it. The store was clean, the staff helpful, and they had as much if not more premium cat food varieties than the specialty stores I was used to back home. Lots of stuff for cats and dogs, beds and what not, and i'm going to try a new litter I found there. They even helped me carry my bags to my car, how cool is that? Will certainly return and make use of their rewards program. read more

We LOVE the Dog's Meow! The staff always remembers who I am (even what food I regularly buy!) and is more than willing to help with any questions I have. My dog has been getting chronic ear infections, so my vet recommended Science Diet (gross) to control her allergies. I called Dog's Meow and one of the employees spent a while discussing brands that they carry that are comparable the Science Diet. She explained that her dog had constant ear infections and told me what food has worked for. They really are amazing! read more
