Wow, they are some of the nicest people in town! Even better, they offered a sample. My husband ordered quite the variety so we could try different dishes. 1. La bandera: nicely seasoned stewed beef, beans and rice. Even the white rice had a delicious flavor. Bay leaf maybe? Tastes like comfort food esp good with the cold weather. 2. Chicharron: my son loves pork. I think its pork belly so it has a decent amount of fat. Not meant for those who don't like fatty meat. The pork itself is plain but pairs well with the onions on top. 3. Chicken (not battered) burger: surprisingly good as well. I assumed it would be mediocre but it was tender and has a nice dose of the mayo based sauce Their tostones are good dipped in their sauce. It almost reminds me of thousand island/tartar like sauce. Also, their side salad is more substantial than most spots. It has shredded cheese, cucumber, tomato and croutons. I'd def be back.

Oh wow! Everything we tried was delicious from the Papas Supreme with the DR Sauce was unique and oh so good! French fries with chicken and a special sweet, creamy sauce. My favorite was the Bandera meal. Came with a yummy salad, perfect tostones, rice, sweet delicious beans that tasted simmered all day, and absolutely delightful tender, shredded beef in a beautiful sauce. Definitely worth a try! It's also situated in a cute food truck court with beautiful indoor bar, bathrooms, and picnic tables.

The staff was extremely friendly and gave out free sample of delicious stewed beef, beans and rice. I had la bandera which was delicious stewed beef with sweet beans, rice, fried plantains and a side salad. Over all everything was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. I will definitely be back!

The entrees from this food truck were so good! We were very impressed. It made for a yummy night at Dogwood with some impressive cocktails! We will be back!

I got the Chicharrones and it was fantastic!

Don't be afraid to come here! Lots of food truck options which is cool. My friend and I each got zero proof cocktails. She got the sweet hemptation and liked it so much she got a second one. I got the funky cold Modena which was tart and tasty. And we got to see Miz Cracker from RuPaul's Drag Race!! So fun! The drag show was high energy and a great time.

The owners closed up shop downtown and created this new place on 2nd Street in Bend's Central District. It's now called Dogwood at the Pine Shed. Why Yelp won't create a new, distinct page for the Pine Shed is beyond me. That said, the Pine Shed is a fine place for drinks and food truck fare. The open, spacious 'shed' has plenty of varied seating surrounding a nice bar with quite a few tables outside on the patio. Mobility-challenged folks have choices too. For those worried about 2nd Street's reputation for sketchiness, don't be. Revitalization efforts by the city have transformed the area. At times of good weather, with the big doors open, the Pine Shed is quite a nice spot to relax. Cocktails were the raison d'etre for the former incarnation of Dogwood and that emphasis transfers here to the Pine Shed. I particularly like their versions of a margarita but the other cocktails are uniformly good too. The beer tap offerings are not so spectacular, however, with only four (and a cider). On one visit shortly after they opened for business, two beer taps were tapped out, which can be chalked up to growing pains. In any case, the Pine Shed can't be seriously regarded as a tap house in the style of the many others in Bend (On Tap, River's Place, Crosscut, The Lot, The Podski, Midtown Yacht Club, etc.). Come for the cocktails. They do offer low ABV and zero ABV drinks. At present, the food truck choices are abundant and pretty decent. Being trucks/carts, and thus mobile and prone to relocating themselves, I'll not list them here. Best to check the Pine Shed's webpage for current offerings and then go to the relevant Yelp page for reviews. Parking is street only, no parking lot. The city has completed construction on 2nd Street so there are more spots available than before.

Food Cart Pods are not a thing where I'm from, so whenever I see one, it's pretty exciting. First of all, do all Cart Pods have names? I love this one; "The Podski", HA! Ok but beyond that, this place had so many delicious and unique options. We had Italian arancinis twice, a sampler of Pierogis, delicious oyster shooters and shrimp tacos. One thing we didn't get but looked awesome: I don't know if we missed out on some gem, but so many people were getting the burgers/fries from one truck. Also, so many other people were getting stuff from the Thai truck. And to top it off... the beer/cider station had an awesome deal. For about the same price you'd pay for a typical pint, they pour about 20 ounces of happy beverage into a taller than I expected glass. The picnic tables are colorful, there's a covered tent if you're feeling cold, people are friendly... it's just overall a great place to chill, drink, & eat.

But this place in Bend... this is serious burger territory. First thing you notice: they're not messing around with the menu. Just burgers that understand what a burger is supposed to be. Double patty. Brioche bun. Cheese doing its job. America. I ordered The O.G. because I respect tradition. American cheese, caramelized onions, burger sauce. Simple system. Works great. Like a pickup truck that starts every time. My buddy got The Popper which is basically what happens when a jalapeño popper and a burger start collaborating. Bacon, jalapeño cream cheese, ranch. It looked like something a scientist made to test the limits of happiness. Fries were solid. Soda cold. No weird nonsense. Just burgers doing burger things. Only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is because if I lived closer I would probably eat here too often and that feels medically irresponsible. I'd give it 6 stars if Yelp understood burgers better.

To order, you pick your protein (chicken, steak, or tofu) and pick your boat (rice, noodles, baguette, or salad). Current prices are $14 for chicken or tofu and $16 for steak. I tried the chicken baguette option (a self described banh mi) which came with cucumbers, pickled carrots and daikon, and garlic aioli sauce. In my experience, a banh mi is commonly made with pork and pate. Obviously, Da Nang can serve whatever food they want; I'm not making a claim about authenticity. But, I think their sandwich would have been better with these ingredients. The sandwich was good but not great. The baguette was very good -- crusty on the outside but soft on the inside. The flavors were good, but relied heavily on the garlic aioli to pull it together. The chicken was a little dry without the aioli. When I got all the ingredients together in one bite, it was pretty good, but the sandwich size/shape made this difficult. IMO It tasted more like a "chicken and pickled vegetables" sandwich than a banh mi. Service was friendly. It took about 10 minutes to get the sandwich and they gave me a buzzer to tell me when it was ready.
