Dogwood is a must visit when in Bend. Missing their old location downtown but they sure brought the vibes bigger and better to the shed. Taking over a whole corner block, the shed offers indoor/outdoor seating with an antique flare, rustic yet funky. Huge wrap around bar and little random nook seating. They host multiple food trucks and live music on the weekends. You won't be disappointed especially with a one of their incredible craft cocktail in hand. read more

I went to the food carts next to Dogwood for lunch. The Wich Doctor food cart has become one of my favorites in the area. I thought that my wife and friends of ours would get some dinner and have some drinks at the Dogwood at the Pine Shed. You can bring your food from the carts inside Dogwood and enjoy the seating and have a cocktail , wine , beer or kombucha. One of our friends had a beer on tap. Their beer menu is limited . My wife and I are dark beer drinkers . They did not have any on the menu so we did not have a drink. There is plenty of seating and it's a great place to stay out of the sun on a hot day. read more

First of all- I just moved here and I keep hearing this is "the bad part of town" and no, it's not. We passed one unhoused person who was just minding his own business. Don't be afraid to come here! I'll preface by stating that this establishment is a bar with a food truck lot. It is not the Dogwood downtown cocktail bar that is the subject of the prior hundreds of reviews. The owners closed up shop downtown and created this new place on 2nd Street in Bend's Central District. It's now called Dogwood at the Pine Shed. Why Yelp won't create a new, distinct page for the Pine Shed is beyond me. That said, the Pine Shed is a fine place for drinks and food truck fare. The open, spacious 'shed' has plenty of varied seating surrounding a nice bar with quite a few tables outside on the patio. Mobility-challenged folks have choices too. For those worried about 2nd Street's reputation for sketchiness, don't be. Revitalization efforts by the city have transformed the area. At times of good weather, with the big doors open, the Pine Shed is quite a nice spot to relax. Cocktails were the raison d'etre for the former incarnation of Dogwood and that emphasis transfers here to the Pine Shed. I particularly like their versions of a margarita but the other cocktails are uniformly good too. The beer tap offerings are not so spectacular, however, with only four (and a cider). On one visit shortly after they opened for business, two beer taps were tapped out, which can be chalked up to growing pains. In any case, the Pine Shed can't be seriously regarded as a tap house in the style of the many others in Bend (On Tap, River's Place, Crosscut, The Lot, The Podski, Midtown Yacht Club, etc.). Come for the cocktails. They do offer low ABV and zero ABV drinks. At present, the food truck choices are abundant and pretty decent. Being trucks/carts, and thus mobile and prone to relocating themselves, I'll not list them here. Best to check the Pine Shed's webpage for current offerings and then go to the relevant Yelp page for reviews. Parking is street only, no parking lot. LOVE LOVE LOVE the concept! This place is basically a bougie bar with a very nice interior that opens up to a courtyard full of food trucks and picnic tables. You can sit either inside or outside and get killer craft cocktails, even nonalcoholic ones! I had the Funky Cold Modena cocktail which was made with a berry apéritif, balsamic soda, and some other little magic that made it taste really complex and fun. Definitely is more tar than sweet, which is perfect for me. For food, I got a banh mi from the Vietnamese food truck and yellowfin tuna tacos from the Mexican food truck. Both were good, but those yellowfin tuna tacos I may dream about until the end of my days. The Mexican food truck also looks like it made a killer Birria taco with consommé for dipping. I loved the house music that was playing, it was just loud enough to be part of the scene without overpowering conversations. I'm honestly bummed this place isn't open tonight because I was looking for somewhere to go for dinner and I was going to wander back over there and try out a couple of the other trucks. My brother and I were in town for the night and we stopped off at the Dogwood for a couple of drinks and some food. The vibe, or ambiance is pretty upscale, trendy , and chic. The owner really planned the aesthetics of the space very well to create a welcoming environment. Although we only enjoyed a few IPPA's to drink there is a full bar with quite an extensive menu of craft cocktails, and specialty drinks to enjoy, and if we had more time, we definitely would have indulged. It does look like there is a spot for live DJs that they must have on weekends for some live entertainment. The food is a little tricky due to the fact that the Dogwood does not actually serve its own food. All the food is from private food trucks that are on the property right outside the establishment. That means you can place your order for food at one of the food trucks outside and then go in to the bar and wait for it to be ready. But then you have to go back outside to get it and bring it back in with you (or eat outside in the beautifully planned outdoor seating area) Or the other option, and this is what we did, we went inside first, get drinks, and then scan the QR code that's provided at each of the tables. That brings up the food menu of all the food trucks outside. Then you can order your food through the app. You then get a text when your order is ready. You then go pick it up, and then bring it back inside with you to enjoy. Although I'm not used to ordering my food this way from an establishment, it was really, no big deal and i wouldn't consider it a dealbreaker either. This place should be great, could be great BUT: 1. the bar always has a line because one bartender (the tall guy with the beard) spends all his time looking at and talking on his phone instead of serving customers, 2. There should be a separate beer line vs mixed drinks line because mixed drinks take much longer in an already slow bar, 3. The food trucks have great food but the food truck owners have said the owners won't spring for outdoor heaters so we don't come here often for all these reasons. We were staying at the Days Inn directly behind this establishment. We came for skiing and wanted to go to bed early. They blared their music so loud on the outside of their building that at first we thought it was coming from the room next door. It was freezing cold outside and there was NO ONE outside of Dogwood to listen to their loud music. That was Friday night. So Saturday night my husband went over and politely asked them not to turn on the music outside, and they agreed. But by 9 they were rocking out, again on the OUTSIDE. Why can't they confine the music to the inside, where all the people are? It was so rude and annoying and kept us awake. read more

Relatively new food truck pod with full service bar. On the corner of 2nd St and Hawthorne St in downtown Bend. The "Pine Shed" is nice inside with interesting decor and a full service hard liquor bar. There are lots of interesting drinks on the menu. Beer on tap or in bottles/cans is more limited than most food truck pods but trying the other drinks on the menu sounds fun. Outside are 7 food trucks with a wide variety of foods - Dominican, Pizza, Mexican, Sandwiches, Vietnamese, Chicken wings and crepes, and Greek. Two of the trucks are only open after 4 or 5pm (pizza and Greek). We were there during the daytime so the music was not loud. The food carts are great. But the Dogwood space, while big and pretty, has, really odd service. Four women working. One on her phone for at least 20 mi utes. Comes over to pour me water after I was sitting for ten but says she can't take my drink order, and I'm sitting at the bar. The other two women seem to just serve water to the folks at tables. T What am I missing? Edited to add. OK I just learned what a bar back is. I'd say this place needs another bartender to help customers. Still waiting to pay our bill, ten minutes after drinks done. I guess my review is that this place is great if you have a few hours to drink. And after waiting ten minutes overcharged by $5. Now have to wait more for the one bartender to review our bill. There is lots of things to like at Dogwood ... and they're all Cocktails !! My short review is that its awesome and if you like me ,love well made drinks this definitely should be on your list of places to visit in Bend. We always come back to this place every time we are here. They have a very fun club like vibe and the staff brings in so much good cheer that you can't help but enjoy yourself. We went two days in a row for after dinner cocktails and had the best time. They are spread across two floors however seating is not very optimal and there is lot of empty space which could have been utilized. From antique chairs built into the wall across from the bar to the upstairs fireplace , this chic cocktail bar has a number of different areas to snuggle into. It would be remiss of me to not mention the restrooms - they are surprisingly very aesthetic and beautifully done up .The music is foot tapping and bring the place alive. We came here after being told an hour wait at Deschutes Public House and were so glad we did. Three of us were starving so ordered half the food menu: Dog Food - Tasty popcorn with bacon and Parmesan cheese but not sure it's worth $9. 4/5 for flavor but 2/5 for value. Patatas Bravas - could be a tad crispier but liked the boldness of the paprika flavor. 4/5 Fried Brussels Sprouts - Good flavor and char. 4/5 Poke Nachos - the lightness and flavor of the tortilla chips really made this dish. We were in Bend for 2 night and probably sampled 8 places. This is the only one we came back to. Got a seat at the bar and the entertainment value alone was worth the visit. Truly talented bartender, making some of the most delicious and unique drinks you'll find. The beet-nick was my wife's favorite and I loved the southern sidecar and the Juan Conery. About 4 hours later, and a few other stops (see other reviews), we were so hungry but everyplace closed at 9 or was packed. We found our way back here and they hooked us up with the dart room where we got some delicious grub. The poke was yummy but the smoke fried chicken was unbelievable. Cant figure out if they smoke it then fry it or the other way around. Doesn't matter, just get some. read more

Updating this ... first time I went I had cocktails only which I think are still out outstanding . Ambiance is still great. But food kinda sucks. They serve big portions but it's just not good. It's either either bland or burnt. It's one of those "trendy foods on the menu with an interesting description" places but the final product isn't good. Wanting a different experience than the regular dinner, we opted for some cool cocktails and light dinner-ish fare. Dogwood was EXACTLY what we needed. First, no ruching through your stay here! The server was friendly and fun. We ordered drinks so we give more thought to food. That's all good here. I had the Lavendar cocktail that was herby and refreshing. The little lavender buds floating around really contributed to the aromatics of the cocktail. My handsome date enjoyed the bee sting with a heavy basil presence and a kick of heat. As for the food. A quote from my handsome date, "I've eaten fried chicken and I've cooked fried chicken. But this is the best F'ing fried chicken I've ever had." That about wraps that up. We spent a couple of enchanting evenings at the Dogwood with Bootsie and her amazing crew on our trip to Bend this weekend. This has been a hard and fast rule/tradition that we HAVE TO come here EVERY time we visit since we foundit ib 2016. They have never disappointed us and are always getting better. We are excited to see what lies in the Gem of Central Oregons future. So much love for this place! Our Server Ally was fantastic from start to finish. We started at a bar spot near the door with cocktails then seated upstairs for dinner. The decor is incredibly interesting and eclectic with art, taxidermy and unique antique store finds throughout the entire building. The low lighting and candle ambiance made it feel romantic and intimate. The dog-food appetizer (essentially fancy popcorn) was addictive and great for snacking, followed by the juicy med-rare beef sliders with bacon jam. Highlight was the warm donut holes coated in cinnamon sugar with grand marnier whipped cream. I would come back here just for that! One of the best craft cocktails we've had while simultaneously the worst service we've ever had. Server was very inattentive; it took us an hour and twenty minutes to get 2 cocktails (one per person) and to get checked out. Seemed like it was bad floor management for a server who seemed new and very inexperienced. Manager (I think?) was trying to help but honestly should've stopped seating tables to let staff get caught up. Staff was very blasé about the wait and lack of service. A "I'll be right with you" or "thanks for your patience" would've helped but alas, no. Server had our credit card for almost 20 minutes by the time we finally got to leave. I would've walked out had she not had our card already. Management should've been better prepared and staffed (or had a game plan if short staffed!) for a holiday weekend. read more

Our first visit to Bend has led us to great discoveries of fantastic places to eat. Dogwood will be a place we will definitely return to. We had 5 different cocktails, 2 appetizers and a dessert. Every single drink and food dish was delicious. The flavor combinations of the drinks were creative, fresh and exciting. Look through the drink menu to see how each drink has its own amazing ingredients which then creates the most delectable concoctions! The steak lettuce wraps also had great flavors, though wish there were bigger. The smoked chicken legs were huge and tasted outstanding. Glad the batter wasn't too heavy. The donut holes were a star too! They were a perfect bite of cinnamon and light doughiness, and dipped in the whipped cream made it so heavenly. Van was our server and he was funny and made the evening very enjoyable. Their hostess gal was also kind, got us a table quickly and was very caring as we left. We happened into Dogwood to escape the cold on our first night in Bend as we explored the town on foot. What a great find! Super cool bar with really friendly and knowledgeable staff made for a great experience. Not having much experience with culinary-based cocktails, my wife and I definitely needed recommendations through the menu. With help from our bartenders, we both landed on drinks that we'd never had before but loved. My wife chose a Beetnik with beet-infused vodka and I selected a Bee Sting, with habanero tequila. Both proved tasty and flavorful as we chatted with our servers about their local favorites. The space in Dogwood was so enjoyable.
