Purchased 2 dozen donuts plus some other items on Fathers Day. Donuts are quite large compared to other places. My fave was the maple bacon donut. The only thing that I felt needed attention was their customer service. I spent almost $50 on bakery products and did not get a smile, a "Thank you", or "have a good day". My favorite is the plain glazed cake donut. It is perfect. The right amount of crunch on the outside and a moist crumbly inside. They have great chocolate donuts, the oreo one is amazing along with caramel, maple, plain glazed, strawberry is so good. My fiance loves the red velvet cake donut as well. Cons What makes this 4 stars instead of 5 is they always run out of donuts. They are only open until 2. However, they run out of all kinds of donuts very early in the day. This may be the best donut place in Memphis. I went in on a Friday around 11:00 am, and they were almost all sold out. I can now see why they sell out so fast! The only ones available when I went in were glazed, cheesecake, and a caramel. The caramel donut was delicious! The donut is fluffy and chewy, which I love. The caramel and actual donut wasn't too sweet. I also got the cheesecake donut to share. I definitely will be returning to try more donuts because the selection was great. I tried a blueberry filled donut with filling more on the level of pie filling than jelly- delicious! The cake donuts are melt in your mouth good. Sometimes people obsess over a long standing place (which is fine props for a long run), however, it may not always mean they are delivering you the best experience, taste, or dish. A great example would be Dyer's burgers downtown. To me, their burgers are just a glorified Krystal burger. I feel like Gibson's is the same. They have their pros and some people love that place, but they lost my business the minute I discovered The Donut Box. These donuts are fluffy and light. They don't make you feel heavy while leaving you with that gross, greasy aftertaste. I haven't had one flavor or type of donut that I didn't like at this place. You can't go wrong. Went today because of good recommendation. I went today, Friday, before 10 am. The staff was consolidating the few remaining donuts to the top shelf. I requested 3 filled donuts and was told they had no more fillable donuts, the few ones on the top shelf were all that they had and they were not making any more!! It took a good 20 minutes until I got to order; however, I had to wait another 10 min for them to make the ones I wanted.
