Lovely restaurant. The decor is nice and open with a real friendly environment. The staff is great too, but the best part was definitely the doughnuts. Very Disappointing. They didn't have any glazed. Which donut place runs out of glazed. Very expensive and product quality is meh! Mix dozen pricing is misleading. We got a "speciality" donut and owner ending up charging me individually. Basically a dozen was more than 20 dollars. We got home and the donuts were beyond SUB-PAR. So many other donut places in the area worth trying. Disappointed. read more

We love this place. In fact, we loved it so much that when we came out to Texas to look for our house, we had breakfast here two mornings in a row. I think it's a happy coincidence that we ended up buying only a few minutes from here. The food is great, the staff is great, and the prices are just right. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Even my picky three year old who doesn't like sweets loves their mini chocolate-glazed donuts. So give this place a try if you haven't already. Love the interior. Ordered the fried chicken breakfast sandwich and a half dozen doughnuts (glazed, Nutella crunch, texas sheet cake, cookies and cream, & maple bacon). Doughnuts are "bread-y," which is different than cake-y to me; these more closely resembled the texture of bread than a cake doughnut and the dough was not that sweet. The vanilla dough (hint of cinnamon?) used for the glazed and maple bacon tasted better than the chocolate dough used for the others. Took a bite out of all of them but only ate the maple bacon in full. The fried chicken sandwich with pesto is the real winner - the pastry was so good; add a sprinkle of salt & Parmesan cheese to the pesto, then put a little more on the sandwich and you'll have yourself an addiction. I'm usually in training and on a specific meal plan, but last week I took some time off from training and decided to try this donut shop. After seeing their website filled with tasty delights, I knew I had to pay them a visit. I was not dissappointed. After the first day, having the blueberry glazed, trying a bite of my son's cookies and cream, my youngest son's glazed and the hubby's maple bacon donut (um, yum), I knew I would be back for more! Each donut was delectably moist and delicious. Needless to say, my hubby and I were back the following day. This time we stayed for lunch. The grown up grilled cheese was absolutely yummy. To top it all off, it came with a free donut. This time I had a chocolate cake donut- light, moist and delicious. Perfect. A couple days (Friday) later, we were back again. Fridays, we were told, are days when they have the best selection of tasty treats. I may get the exact names wrong, but we stocked up on a few goodies- caramel machiatto, red velvet, chocolate strawberry, s'more, and several others that I can't quite recall. But what I do remember is how absolutely wonderful each of these treats were to my tastebuds. Though I was able to stop myself from eating them all by myself, that didn't stop me from at least having a bite of each. Not only are these donuts the best I've ever had, the staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. When I wanted to have a blueberry cake donut on day 2 of my donut extravaganza without the glaze on top, they procured it from the kitchen almost immediately. Excellent sandwiches! Of course being at a donut kitchen, I tried the donut inspired one and was not disappointed by the chorizo donut slider! The cake donut as bread held together nicely and the chorizo and pickles had a nice spice. Overall a great sandwich at an awesome price at $2. Secondly, I had their kolache made with andouille sausage and their crescent roll with cheese baked onto the top. Once again, very large serving. The kolache was just as good if not better than the ones you get at Einstein bagel and at a fraction of the price! My fiancé had the chicken salad on gluten free bread and I was quite honestly surprised. The bread tasted just like regular bread and the chicken salad was really fresh! My brother and I came here with hopes of surprising the family with awesome, 4-star worthy specialty donuts for breakfast. This turned out not to be the case. When we first entered, we took note of the nice interior and modern decor- that was probably the only thing nice about our experience that morning. I'm big on warm, welcoming greetings, especially if I'm waking up at 7AM on a weekend to buy your products for my family (versus sleeping in an extra hour or two). No one really greeted us, and when the man did notice us standing there, he simple said "Are you ready to order?" We responded by telling him that it was our first time there and that we were still trying to choose which flavors. He didn't try recommending any flavors to us, nor did he seem very interested in taking our orders. Okay, maybe he's not a morning person, maybe that's his personality. Or maybe I was "hangry" and couldn't wait to eat these donuts. Who knows? Ultimately we ended up purchasing the Fruit loops, Red velvet, Cookies and Cream, Texas Sheet Cake, and Maple Bacon. They were all just okay. Maybe to a person who hasn't tried speciality type donuts before, Donut Kitchen might be good since he/she doesn't have any other place to compare it to...but I was unimpressed. The Maple Bacon, Cookies and Cream, and Texas Sheet Cake were dry. The Red Velvet was probably our 'favorite' of them all because it was the most moist. But even so, the cream cheese on top wasn't sweet enough to warrant the donut being called "Red Velvet." My nieces seemed to love the Fruit Loops, but then again, what kid doesn't love sugary iced donuts topped with sugary fruit loops? With the lack of warm greetings, inconsistency in donut batter, and subpar flavors, we probably won't be back. read more

The Italian Wedding donut had a mound of cream cheese icing on top. It was so creamy and delicious yet light at the same time, not thick and overbearing. Wow... Wow !!! these donuts are just out of this world !!! We tried a variety of donuts, they were all fantastic ...favorites S'mores and blueberry cream. My husband thought the maple bacon was the bomb! This will be our new fav stop it is a bit pricier than other donut places but oh so so worth it !! I decided to stop in after driving by this place daily since they opened. Very cute shop in a strip mall. Very friendly woman behind the counter that was able to answer all my questions. I ended up getting half a dozen and it ran me about $9. Took them home and my husband and I shared about 4 out of the 6 they were soooo good! They were definitely not your ordinary donut shop donuts. The taste is well worth the price. Even the one we had later on in the evening was still as soft and fluffy as the one that we had in the morning.
