Just moved to Frisco and tried out John's Donuts on a Sunday morning around 9:30am and they were stocked full of donuts and other food. The staff was so friendly, and even gave me some free donut holes with my purchase! The establishment was well kept, organized very well, and had many unique donuts flavors and other foods you wouldn't find at other donut shops. The donuts tasted fresh and felt soft and the pastries were also seasoned very well. This is going to be my go-to donut shop! read more

Went by here to grab a few dozen donuts @8am ish. The choices were very very slim, and even their sausage rolls were down to one choice. 2 dozen donuts, 1 being glazed still cost me $22... it's a standard morning donut at the same price as just going down Preston and finding a chain with more choices and coffee. read more

Best donuts I ever had , hands down. I'm from NYC and I never had a donut as yummy as they are here at johns donuts. I was literally dumbfounded by how soft and delicious a donut could be. This is my new fav place and while I'm here in texas I try to go (almost) every day!! Not to mention they are extremely kind , excellent customer service , they have even taken the time to listen to my cancer story , and they try to accommodate my specific requests (I need extra filling for my donuts so that I can eat them easier as I lost my tongue to cancer) I'm seriously considering moving to texas cus im gna miss these donuts when I head back to NYC lol read more

This small donut shop has hands down the highest quality donuts ive had in 12 years. Their donuts are not overglazed like krispy kreme's and they are the definition of fresh. Two glazed donuts and a large coffee ran me 4 dollars. Definitely worth coming here. read more

This is our go to and favorite donut store, ever. Everything is always fresh, they are always stocked up and so pleasant. I will stop in the get treats for the office and go in for weekend donuts. When family comes into town, they love getting donuts from there as well. We hope they stay around for a long time, it's hard to find a solid donut shop these days! This family-owned business does a fantastic job. Their cinnamon rolls are true greatness as are their fritters. As for their donuts, it's hard to go wrong with pretty much anything they have (glazed, chocolate glazed, blueberry cake, twists, etc). Their sausage rolls are also pretty solid. They offer them both in regular and jalapeno and both varieties are delicious. I wish people would stop calling them kolaches because they aren't kolaches. Kolaches have fruit, off soapbox now. One tip, if you're wanting cinnamon rolls and it's the weekend, better get there early because they do frequently run out of them and fritters. But all in all, quality donuts and the like along with great service makes John's Donuts a somewhat hidden gem in the middle of Frisco. By the way, they are open every day of the year, yes including Christmas. But if you're going on a holiday, get there early because they have been totally sold out of everything before and even closed early. read more

Donuts are above average. Cook (owner?) seems to understand that the taste of a donut is greatly influenced by frying the donut to a golden brown (i.e., 'krispy'). Many nearby competitors' donuts are under-cooked - leaving a doughy, bland taste. 2 stars because 1 out of 3-4 times, there is either stale coffee or none at all. If I have to go elsewhere to get coffee, I might just as well get donuts elsewhere also. read more

Me and my wife recently moved to Frisco and were looking around for a new donut place and found this gem hidden away at Hillcrest and Rolater. We always make sure to visit at least once each weekend. I highly recommend giving their coffee a try! The Cafe Mocha is truly exceptional for the price. My wife has also tried the Taro smoothie which she thought was fantastic. The fast and friendly service here makes my weekends much more pleasant and I plan to keep coming back. read more
