Service was very friendly. Food was great. Prices cheap. We also tried the maple doughnut and fritter. Both were delicious.

We stopped here on our way to St. Lawrence University. The maple walnut donut was perfect and egg sandwiches made quick and tasty.

For starters, we come in to Jebs and right away the servers bring us to our table. They are all nice and friendly. Then we order our drinks and they come right away! They give us time to order and when we do, they bring it to our table in at least 15 minutes. Which is pretty fast! My personal favorite foods at Jebs are the Grilled Cheese, and the Patty Melt! Our family thinks that all the food here is amazing no matter what they order. Then we have to order the Desserts and their ice cream is the best Ive ever had. The Atmosphere has a very Adirondack feel to it which adds even more incredibleness to Jebs!!

My boyfriend and I came here tonight for dinner. We've been here before and have always had a…read morewonderful experience with both the food and the service. Unfortunately, tonight was completely different and extremely disappointing. I have celiac disease and a severe gluten allergy, so I always make sure to clearly communicate my allergy when ordering. Tonight, I ordered a quesadilla with a gluten-free wrap and a ribeye steak with the Limano topping. I've had this exact steak order here before and knew it could be prepared gluten-free. The quesadilla was fine, but when my steak came out, it had onion rings on top. When I explained to our server that I had a gluten allergy and that the steak would need to be completely remade, she told me she would have to speak with the manager. She returned and said they would remake it and that it would only take a few minutes. However, shortly afterward, she brought the same steak back to the table and told me that they had simply removed the onion rings and scraped the steak, and that it was now safe for me to eat. I explained again that, because of my allergy, the food needed to be completely remade and that I could not safely eat something that had already been in contact with gluten. I also asked for the steak to be removed from the bill since I could not eat it. Once again, I was told she needed to ask the manager. Unfortunately, throughout the situation, I felt as though I was being given an attitude for simply trying to avoid getting sick. I understand that mistakes happen, but when a customer clearly communicates a severe food allergy, the response should be taken seriously. Simply removing the gluten-containing food and scraping the remaining food is not an appropriate solution for someone with celiac disease.

Unfortunately,…read morewe couldn't sit outside because of the rain, but our table inside still offered a great view of the water. The restaurant wasn't crowded, but there were enough guests to give it a nice atmosphere. It felt comfortable, relaxed, and not noisy at all. We started with the Kung Pao Cauliflower, which was excellent. Even my kids, who don't usually enjoy vegetables, ate every bite. For their meals, both kids ordered brick oven pizzas. My older child had the Labrador and finished the entire pizza by himself, while my younger child ordered the Authentic with pepperoni and really enjoyed it. My wife ordered the fish of the day, and I chose the scallop special. Overall, the food was very good, the service was pleasant, and the waterfront setting made for an enjoyable dining experience. I would definitely return the next time I'm in the area.

All of the staff we interacted with were great and friendly. Our family from this area raved about their poutine, but a recent menu change got rid of it. Despite that they had a variety of starters/apps, sandwiches, pizzas, steaks, plus other entrees including some specials on a separate little menu. Included on that was two cocktails that we tried, I had two of their Strawberry Rhubarb Collins that was light and easy to drink with just enough strawberry and rhubarb flavor. My wife had their special sangria which had tons of flavor. Both fantastic drinks! As a group we split some pretzel sticks as well as some bang bang shrimp. With both being great bites before our meals with the beer cheese and mustard for the pretzels along with the shrimp sweet chili aioli being perfect dips. Lastly for the main event my wife and I were on the same wavelength and got their Vodka Chicken Parm, that originally was to come on top rice pilaf but both substituted for house made pasta. Everything from the vodka sauce, to the house made pasta, to the chicken were fantastic! Would gladly get it again. If we lived around here I would picture this being a regular stop for us! Friendly and welcoming staff with well made drinks and delicious food! Give it a try!

Jake's on the Water - The contrast of lighting doesn't show this well, but we had an "interior" table tucked well back but still had a great river/lake/flow view.

The décor features old photos, postcards, and maps from around Jefferson County. There is a good selection of breakfast items, with a "lighter side" and a la carte items available. I usually order the make your own frittata (choose your own veggies/meats) which comes with potatoes, a slice of toast, and a side of fruit. Husband is a big fan of the breakfast burrito. Don't expect diner prices because the food is good quality and well portioned, and you won't be hungry 30 minutes later. I've never been disappointed with a meal here, though we've only had breakfast. I wish they'd offer a few more meatless options for lunch and dinner. Service is always friendly but can be a little slow at times if there is just one server. Luckily it's a nice place to hang out and drink an extra cup of coffee. At the register you can purchase sweets, biscuits, or bread, depending on the day. Sometimes there is local honey or other interesting stuff for sale too. One last note: Coal Docks has been closed randomly when their hours state that they're open. I highly suggest following them on Facebook to keep up on closings and daily specials.

Chatted with the owner for a moment and she made us feel extremely welcome!
