The hype is real! Undoubtedly Ireland's best pizza lives in Galway with Dough Bros. Made our own pizza with pepperoni and fresh garlic. The pepperoni was thick and super flavorful and the crust was perfectly charred underneath with an awesome chew. Honorable mention for their mixed drinks as well. Wife loved her Aperol Spritz and the Strawberry Basil Margarita was epic. Wished I lived here so I could come back.
Dough Bros was very busy during the lunch hour and I understand why - the pizza was delicious! You order at the counter and then are shown to a table which made the whole process seem less. Hip and cool vibes, with patronage to legendary musicians. The burrata pizza was simple, just tomato sauce and burrata with a few basil leaves on top. I'd definitely go back when in the area.
Based on a million recommendations, we went in for pizza. Live wasn't too bad. Very friendly workers. We ordered the proper ham and mushroom pie and a margarita pie. I also had a banana soda, which was delicious. The ham and mushroom pie was ten stars. Excellent. Crispy charred crust, salty ham on top. And the mushrooms were not those boring ones like a papa John's:) Margarita was a disappointment. It may be a cultural gap but the cheese was not fresh mozzarella! Instead it was basically a cheese pizza. Enjoyed the boisterous dining area.
This pizza is a must if you're in Galway! There was a line that took 15-20mins. Once inside, you order and they seat you. The pizza was brought to our table within 10 mins. So even though there's likely always a wait here, it moves quick and is so worth it. We got the Stinger and the Curry Cheese. The curry cheese was one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time and unlike any pizza flavor I've had. We ordered 2 pizzas for 2 people and had some leftovers, but the crust is thin so you could finish a pizza by yourself.
There was a line outside the door when we got there, but decided to stay because we had heard such great things. We got to the front after half an hour. The inside of the restaurant is super cool. Its decorations include retro video games, cookbooks & coffee table books on pizza, and their awards. We ordered the Stinger and the Curry Cheese pizzas. The service was extremely fast. Both pies were incredible; I see why they are called the best pizza in Ireland. The crust is very thin, but flavorful. The Stinger was more of a traditional pizza, with chorizo, garlic, and some peppers. The Curry Cheese was much more innovative/unique, with slices of potato and dollops of curry sauce. It had a nice kick of Indian flavor. Highly recommend this place and both of those pizzas!
What a lovely, quick, delightful experience. There's plenty of seating, it's well lit, the staff are helpful and kind, the bathroom was clean, and food was great! I ordered the curry cheese pizza and I hope I get a chance to come back to Ireland to enjoy it again! So flavorful, perfect amount of spice, and something Ive never had before. The garlic cheese bread was a little underwhelming. Tasty, but quite small for the price. I think id skip this next time. I love that they have their own beers. And the beers were nice, well balanced, easy drinking. Love it!
When you think Ireland, you certainly do not think pizza, but Dough Bros is on a mission to change that...and after eating at their spot in Galway, I fully support this mission! Voted #1 pizza in Ireland makes total sense now! This location on Middle Street in the heart of Galway is their flagship location, and is a modern space situated in a storied building. You are legit transported from old world Ireland on the outside to modern pizzeria inside. The space is laid out very well. Upon entry you hop right in line where you order, get your drinks and table number and are then led to your table based on party size. From there, once the pie is ready, a runner brings it to you. They have all the classics you are after, but also have a solid selection of house curated pies. We went with a few house pies including the Pepp Guardi-Jala and Proper Ham and Mushroom. Both were absolutely phenomenal, the dough, the cook on the crust, the cheese, toppings...*chef's kiss* Service was great from entry to exit. We were welcomed immediately, walked through the menu at ordering, assisted at our table and wished a great day. Solid service! Overall, a little jealous The Dough Bros have not made their way over the pond yet, but I guess this is just one more reason to get back to Galway sooner than later!
Don't know HOW this place received ANY stars from other reviews. Staff is incredibly rude. Believe the other reviews that comment on the staffs behaviour. 100% accurate. Over priced and NOT worth the hype. Huge mistake on my part. Put too much weight in the positive reviews and ignored the negative ones. It's mediocre pizza at best. American chain, Blaze Pizza, is better. That says it all. Trust me, skip this place.
I don't consider myself a pizza connoisseur by any means but I've had the privilege to try some highly regarded pizza in the US and have also tried some amazing pizza in Italy. Now I can add Ireland to that growing list. Dough Bros has been one of the most talked about pizza places in Galway and voted the best pizza there in 2022. When visiting other countries outside the US I always seek out their authentic regional cuisine but there's always room to try some different things too. This is what brought me to Dough Bros. We came for a late lunch, around 1:45 pm and the line was out the door and down the sidewalk. We considered coming back another time but changed our minds and decided to wait anyway. Wait was long. Even once inside the building at the counter, there was a long, lol between the counter person taking orders and not taking orders. I'm guessing because they were trying to give the kitchen some time to catch up. The entire time we were waiting in line I had no idea whether there would be an open table for us to sit once we ordered anyway. The restaurant was completely packed. Timing was on our side though, and we were able to have a table to sit at and drink some cold drinks while we waited for our pizza to be ready. Before too long, the pizza arrived at our table. It was piping hot and we had to wait a few minutes to be able to take a bite. The crust was thin, but still super tender. You could tell they make the dough fresh and it had that perfect chewy soft texture with a bit of crunch from the oven. It was still a bit soggy in the middle though, which was slightly disappointing since I prefer a crispy crust. The sauce was very balanced, and a generous amount of mozzarella on top. Most margarita pizzas aren't covered with mozzarella, which is one of the reasons I don't order them often. I love cheese! The flavors were balanced, and I especially loved the flavor of the sauce. I gave the Dough Bros five stars for the excellent pizza and friendly service. I could take away one star due to the length of time I stood in line and the fact that the kitchen couldn't seem to keep up however, the flavors of the pizza made the wait worth it to me. I can see why this place is so popular.
We chatted with a local in another town who insisted we try this place out. The line was pretty long but once we had ordered and were seated, we agreed we liked the way they set it up. You stand in line for order at the counter but by the time you've done that, there are always tables available. It's a good way to provide some crowd control. The food was delicious and the menu was clever. I only hate that we weren't more hungry so we could try more of the food. We kept it pretty simple with the margherita pizza and bro-schetta. Perfect amount of food and has us wanting to come back in the future to try some of their other concoctions!

Wow, I didn't plan to have pizza in Ireland. I thought, no I need to eat food of the area. What changed my mind was a heard from various people that they had really good pizza. I was wandering around one night and saw a long line out the door of an establishment and thought I should check that out. Yay it was the pizza place and I hadn't eaten dinner yet. I stood in line for my pizza fix, thankfully it wasn't too bad, maybe 15 minutes. I ended up getting the margarita Pizza at a local beer. The pizza was delicious, reminded me of pizza I ate in Italy . Quality ingredients, tasty crust , not a bunch of stuff on the pizza. Simple but good. The pizza here is amazing. Growing up in Brooklyn, NY most of my life and a lover of pizza, I am very discerning about pizza. Can it be? The best pizza I've had is in ....Ireland??? You can't just get the margherita pizza, you have to try the specialty pizzas. I had the proper ham with mushroom and truffle oil pizza. If you like truffles or truffle oil, you'll love this. The truffle oil and the freshness of the ingredients is what makes this pie so delicious. My kids got the margherita (most resembling a regular pizza). The cheese is fresh mozzarella from the county Kerry cows. If you drive around county Kerry, you can see that there are tons and tons of cows and all they ever do is eat grass in the huge open fields. NY pizza might have the advantage of the water (they say NY water is what makes NY pizza so good) but what makes the pizza here so special and delicious is the freshness of the ingredients. Stopped in here for a quick lunch bite after our train in from Dublin. Ordering was quick and easy, and the food was brought to our table very quickly. We ordered 2 pizzas to share, The Bahn-Mi and The Bee's Knees. Both were absolutely delicious. The dough was perfect, light with that wonderful char from the wood fired over. The flavour combinations on both these pizzas worked so well, and the topping proportions were appropriate for the type of pizza. You won't be disappointed stopping here. read more

Upon first impression, the Dough Brothers pizza restaurant in Galway appears to be a winner! The menu is creative, the place smells great, the staff is hard working, attentive, friendly and helpful. We ordered two pizzas. Maybe they were having a bad day. We sent our pies back: the margharita pizza didn't have any extra basil as ordered or much basil at all. In addition, the thin crust was limp and severely undercooked on both pizzas so we asked that extra basil be added and the pizza be fired again. The server said no, she would make new pizzas. The second round of pies came out of the oven looking and smelling great! Unfortunately, the crust, although cooked, was still very limp and not at all crunchy. Maybe the Dough Brothers recipe doesn't produce a crispy crust that stands up and supports the toppings. If so, this pizza, while fantastic in every other way, is not one that I can recommend. read more

Cool, trendy interior. Basic drink menu but it does the job. I had the Irish margherita pie and it was great--nice thin crust and flavorful toppings. Reasonably priced. Pro tip: order your own instead of sharing. Trust me--you won't want to share! read more

Reading about Galway's amazing food - The Dough Bros was something that continued to be advertised on all the websites & articles. I know, you think "why eat pizza when you're traveling in a different country and have the opportunity to experience other foods?!" Well, not only is this pizza lover always down for a good ole slice, but the amount of attention this place got made it quite difficult to pass up. The pizza was SO good! The flavor of their tomato sauce, their veggies, their everything was just amazing. Can I also just take a moment to explain their crust?!? Well, I can't - it's indescribable...but imagine a crunch with a whole lot of softness of bread! Confused? I know, I said it was indescribable so go try it. read more
Thank you Dough Bros for a delicious experience & memory! We found this place while traveling through Galway & decided to pop in for dinner. We arrived around 7:30 PM & there was already a line out the door. However, the line moved relatively quickly & we waited approximately 10-15 minutes. You order at the register & are given a number & table. They do a great job of line control. We ordered the Hey Pesto pizza, Vegan Tandoori pizza, garlic fire bread (two pieces) & foraged wild garlic dip. Oh man, oh man. The vegan tandoori was good & flavorful, but the hey pesto was my absolutely favorite. The dip is out of this world. You have to get it. Slather it on the garlic bread & the pizza. You won't regret it. The vibes of the restaurant are super cute as well. Lots to look at & see. The bathrooms were fully stocked with amenities. The coolest part? They have postcards in the back you can write to mail to someone (stamps available for purchase at the register). This was a very unique restaurant with amazing food! read more
Ok absolutely the best pizza EVER. If you are lucky enough to get to this place your mouth will be so happy! We had it twice! There is more than one Dough Bro's, one inside of O'connell's Bar. We hit that one too. The folks that work for Dough Bro's were super nice and the pizza was incredible. Seriously. Just go! read more

Not the absolute best pizza I have ever had, but pretty darn close! We arrived at a non-peak time & was able to order our pizza right away. We found a seat no problem & enjoyed the sites and sounds of the locals. The pizza arrived in about 15 minutes. It's served as a single size for one person & is just the right size to not leave you feeling hungry for stuffed. We had the Margarita pizza which is absolutely fantastic. Lots of cheese and the rich favorable taste of basil. Thin crust is always better when eating pizza, at least I think so. Highly recommend trying this place out. Just be wary of peak times or you'll be waiting for a long time, but would still be worth it!! read more

I was in Ireland for a week and visited Galway at the tail end of the trip. I ate a lot of good Irish food but craved a proper slice of pizza. This place was great! Perfect crust, top-notch ingredients, and great beer. I haven't seen many craft brews here in Ireland but this place has a great American-style IPA. One pie is recommended for one person! read more
Yum! Spicy meat pizza (forget the name!!), and a simple " Irish margharita. " So delicious. I could have eaten two to myself. Thé crust was perfect, and the sauces were super flavorful. I wish we'd tried three flavors! Probably one of the best quick food in Galway. read more
