This was some pretty fire lunch! I came in and ordered a mixed shawarma wrap, fries, falafel, and two refreshers. The hibiscus and mango refreshers were delicious! I was skeptical with how skinny the wrap was, but it really did fill me up! The falafel was great also and I love that they came with some pita and also shaped like donuts hehe. I had a side of garlic sauce that tied everything together. And on top of that, the staff was oh so nice. We have been wanting to try this place for awhile so glad we finally did. The restaurant is bright and spacious with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. We ordered and immediately noticed that the place was full of people with numbers on their tables and no food, so we were prepared for a wait. We definitely did wait. It took about 20 minutes to get our food after we ordered. We were in no hurry, so it wasn't really a huge deal. We both ordered bowls. I got a chicken kofta bowl with rice, hummus, and cucumbers. My boyfriend got the lamb kofta bowl with rice, baba ganoush and salad. When our food arrived, the lamb came out with my sides and the chicken came out with my boyfriend's sides. It's an easy fix as we just swapped koftas, but this really should not have happened. Our first impression was slow service and orders not correct, so it was not the best start. The food was delicious, though. We both enjoyed our koftas. In fact, I would order the chicken again and again. The hummus had the best texture. The salad was exceptional. We came here right around opening. The workers greeted us as soon as we came in and was very friendly. He let us know that it takes about an hour for the oven to heat up so it would be a while for our feteer since we had gotten there so close to opening. We got one of their fresh squeezed juices and waited and it was worth the wait. The feteer was delicious! Maybe because we were there in the morning, there wasn't much of a "show" at the oven but it was still fun to watch it being made. We called ahead and ordered the Chicken Shawarma Bowl and the Chicken Kofta Bowl. When we reached the restaurant, our to-go order was ready in about 5-10 minutes. At home, we enjoyed the bowls along with sides of Baba Ghanoush, Hummus, Salad, and Coleslaw. The chicken in both bowls was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and the sides paired well with the meal. I would said this is Egyptian pizza. The name of dish in the store call it Savory Feteer. It is a dough with meat or sweet infilling. That is a must get items. The restaurant also has regular kababs. I had tried this spot in their original location in Orlando and this one maintains the same great standards! I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is authentic fiteer (pies) straight from Egypt! I do like how this location is more spacious compared to the Orlando one, and has plenty of tables and space both indoors and outdoors. They also have a student discount of 10% off if you are a USF student. I had the cheese pie and it was delicious! Filled with cheese, green peppers, olives, and tomatoes. It's great fresh, but even leftovers still tasted great when heated up. If you haven't had Egyptian fiteer before, you definitely need to try out this spot. This was a fun unique dining experience! My mom and I came here prior to going to a Mosi laser light show and picked this restaurant due it's proximity and rating. The lady who took our order was very helpful in terms of making recommendations and explaining what certain dishes were and what was included. She also helped us get some items on the side and split our payment. My only criticism is the soda machine was out of order and could not provide 2-3 sodas. Also, we had the chicken shawarma feteer lacked flavor. They gave us a sauce but it was tiny little container. We stopped into the Tampa Dough Show this week, and I'm glad we did. We got the Mixed Shawarma Feteer and the Dubai Feteer. First off, I think they're missing a trick not using the tagline, Feteer, Egyptian for Pizza," but at any rate, I preferred the beef to the chicken shawarma. The Dubai feteer was phenomenal and frankly even more delicious the next day. Inside is pistachio cream and Nutella. There's no chunks of pistachio or shredded phyllo. I was a little disappointed with that. Perhaps an idea for the future? But both of the Feteer were not as exciting as watching their Fatari, which I now know is the Egyptian equivalent of a Pizzaiolo. He was amazing. Ali, the owner came over to check on us persoBally. The mixed grill platter was very good, and we all agreed the ground lamb was the best meat. The falafel was good, but not something I'd order again. We were excited to try the fateer. The vegetarian option was described as "mushrooms". When I asked for a mushroom fateer, I was told they don't have just mushrooms as an option. (Ok, then why is it labeled mushrooms?) I love mushrooms so I asked for extra along with the other veggies. BIG MISTAKE. They are not fresh mushrooms! When we arrived the place was packed! The manager was able to clean up a booth immediately for us to be seated right after ordering. The cashier said it would be about an hour to receive a pizza so we ordered hummus with falafel and a chicken kebab wrap to hold us over.
