    (1) Chicken Shawarma over rice
    Nishant N.

We were craving Chicken Shawarma so we ordered Chicken Shawarma and Falafel as well as Baba Ghanoush over the phone. I picked up the order from the restaurant in 20 minutes. After collecting my order, I made my way home. We started with falafel and baba ghanoush. Both were delicious and well-made, providing a perfect start to our lunch. Next, we shared chicken shawarma over rice, which was a delicious and satisfying lunch. The restaurant's food was tasty and really hit the spot for lunch.

Great place that server tasty healthy food. If you are a weightlifter who wants a lower fat meal this is one of the few restaurants locally that gives you chicken, rice and salad and it tastes amazing.

I'll start by saying we ordered through uber eats, so we can't speak on service and atmosphere. Overall, everything needed more seasoning. What we ordered: chicken shawarma wrap, gyro and chicken combo wrap, baba ganoush, dolma, Dubai baklava, and a yogurt drink. The chicken shawarma wrap was better than the combo wrap and I would get it again but they both could have used more seasoning. The dolma is canned. I know a canned dolma when I see/taste one. lol. The baba ganoush needed more garlic and salt and less tahini. The Dubai chocolate baklava was NOTHING like the picture or their pictures/videos on Instagram. It was a walnut baklava with chocolate drizzled on top and pistachio sprinkled on top. In their photo it's supposed to be a chocolate baklava and it's all pistachio, but they cheaped out.

I've had the gyro and the chicken shawarma. Always go gyro it's way more flavorful and juicy. Solid spot for halal New York style food

Ordered via Uber Eats, so this review is on the food only. Overall, everything needed more seasoning. We tried the chicken shawarma wrap, a gyro and chicken combo wrap, baba ganoush, dolma, Dubai baklava, and a yogurt drink. The chicken shawarma wrap was better than the combo, and I'd get it again, but both needed more seasoning. I could not distinguish the taste difference of the gyro and chicken in the combo wrap. The dolma was clearly canned. The baba ganoush needed more garlic and salt, and less tahini. Also it almost had a fake smoke flavor like it had liquid smoke added. The Dubai chocolate baklava was a major letdown, nothing like the advertised pictures. It was a walnut baklava with just a drizzle of chocolate and a sprinkle of pistachio, not the chocolate and pistachio baklava that was presented. The good note, the wraps were massive and really fresh tasting with good veggies. Also, it wasn't heavy and the white sauce (garlic sauce) was delicious and added almost all the flavor to the whole meal.

We got takeout from here and it was really well prepared. If you come here and aren't a fan of spicy, just ask them to remove the hot sauce.

Update as of 8/16/2024 - Still excellent. Dropped by for a quick dinner and got our usual Combo over rice and salad. Plus we got fries which were seasoned so nicely. Service was quick and the food cooked well. No complaints.

Chicken kabob over rice with salad ($16)

This is a casual Middle Eastern restaurant in Cross Creek very close to the New Tampa Public Library (on the opposite side of the road in the plaza with the Shell gas station and 4 other restaurants) They have meat in kebabs form (boneless chunks) or shawarma (shredded flat meat) in which you put over rice or have as a wrap. You can get white sauce on the dish or on the side. There are fountain sodas and desserts like baklava. I ordered chicken kabob over rice and a soda. While I was the only person dining in, many people entered from delivery services and some ordered carryout. Pros: They cook it while you wait, so it is actually fresh. There is a decent amount of food in the rice meal which consists of meat, yellow rice, and salad. The spice mix is flavorful but not too spicy. The cafe is appealing and has a nice red/black color scheme. Roughly 30 people can fit inside. Cons It takes 15-20 minutes to get your food so call in first or prepare to wait. The meat was VERY dry and you need to have water with you to prevent choking. I hope this is not the case all the time. They were out of lamb when I went on Sunday evening. Also, the salad was just a standard house salad instead of "mint salad" usually seen in many Middle Eastern restaurants. It didnt fit that well. Misc: The A/C is VERY COLD. I am a big guy and I was almost uncomfortable. Overall: this was good.. Middle Eastern food is still a mixed bag in Tampa for me.

    Chicken Shawarma Wrap- highly recommend.

Love love love this place! Locally owned and delicious food. Their wraps are amazing and the salads and fries, perfect. All very flavorful and good value. Have been here many times and will keep coming back.

Chicken shawarma with no shawarma just mayonnaise
    Trader G.

Chicken shawarma without the shawarma. So basically middle eastern food without the middle eastern food. Congrats. Now we have another venue that doesn't even cook decent gyros and simplistic cuisine dishes like chicken shawarma platter. No spices no flavor just mayonnaise like the local fan base. Notice all the stellar reviews come from the same crowd. Hehe. Prolly cheaper to fly to turkey and eat like a real one. Instead of helping those with the lack of culture and flavor. It's a failed attempt at an ethnic food option. More importantly it's a disgrace to an entire hemisphere Never forget where you came from. Sometimes it's too late.

The customer service was genuinely some of the best we've ever experienced it was warm, welcoming, and so hospitable. The bread was phenomenal and worth the visit all on its own! We ordered two İnegöl Köfte plates to split between two adults and one child, and honestly, one plate would have been plenty because the portions are so generous. The köfte was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the rice was absolutely delicious, and the fresh salad was the perfect complement. I also ordered a side of chicken just to try it, and it was equally flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. For drinks, we tried the Turkish pear soda and the orange soda. Both were delicious, but the pear was my favorite and is a must-try! If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Turkish food with generous portions and outstanding hospitality, this is the place. We will definitely be back!

The exterior of the building was nothing to brag about, but the interior was neat, well laid out, and clean. The owners of the restaurant were up front to greet dinners. The waitress was prompt and attentive. Mirage features a lunch buffet, so I was able to sample small portions of a lot of offerrings. My first plate was filled with selections from the cold salad station (hummas, pita, Persan picket, baba ganosh, etc.). The entree station had four different rice (balas) preparations. There was Basmati rice, a savory rice and two of the balas were sweetened with fruit and spices. All were tasty. The proteins were primarily chicken selections, but there was a beef koobideh that was also delicious. There were a broad selection of lentil and vegetable stews, so I made multiple trips to the station eating them as a side dish to a protein, over basmati rice and savory rice preparations. It may have been a cultural fax paux, but I treated the falafel like a cornbread muffin as I enjoyed the stewed vegetables and lentils. It was a good meal polished off with a serving of baklava.

It was very tasty and a good amount of food. The only thing I would change about my experience would be for the fries to be advertised as a side so that we'd know how much they cost, since the price wasn't listed on the menu. When I grabbed some ketchup packets for my fries, the packets had dirt on them which was a bit weird. Maybe I got the bottom of the batch or something. It may have been the fact that at my first job out of high school, folks called the truck that swung by the "roach coach." Conversely, it may be my binge watching of food network and their Food Truck Rally that has changed my mind. Either way, I'm very pleased with the fact that I've begun exploring these great little mobile sources of food pleasure. This food truck swung by work recently, and I have to admit I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Middle East cuisine. The young woman taking the order was very patient and explained all the different plates, the variations available, and what came on each. Her top recommendation came for the beef shawarma and I told her I'd take it. One thing that folks have to realize is that these are mobile kitchens with very limited space. In today's age of fast food that seems to be sitting under a food warmer and being prepared long before you order, there is an unrealistic expectation that a food truck will spit your order out in a minute or two. I played on my phone for a while and was delighted when my name was called. The meat was perfectly seasoned and there was no skimping on the portions. The liberal amount of sauce on top added to the tastiness (and most definitely the messiness) of this dish. I'm hoping this food truck comes back soon. Not only for a chance to try some other of their tasty dishes, but also because of the friendliness of the woman at the window, and for how (relatively) quickly my food was served.
