A great halal spot with delicious shawarma. I would give it about a 6/10 when it comes to tasting like the authentic shawarma back home, but it still tasted fresh, clean, and high quality, especially knowing the meat is halal. The cashier was hilarious, trying his best to pronounce every girl's name and getting every single one wrong. Love this place! It is located in a very busy plaza, but fortunately there was plenty of parking. Like most fast casual places, you order at the front counter, then wait for your food to be ready. There were plenty of tables to sit at, and it was clean and bright in the restaurant. Food came out in a timely manner. Portions were huge; easily enough for two meals. I do wish they served the meals on a plate when eating in the restaurant; food kept spilling out of the to-go container. I went with the chicken and falafel platter. I love that I had the option to get it over salad, rice, or french fries. I chose salad, but I tried my friend's french fries and I loved the seasoning they used on them. The chicken on my platter had such a great flavor, as did the three falafels. Next time I'll get the sauce on the side as it was a bit too generous, but all in all the platter was delicious. Tip - make sure you ask for their hot sauce. This is easily my new favorite USF area fast casual restaurant. read more

I stop by during the Ramadan event. I ordered a lamb shawarma. The first thing I didn't like was that the price was 14.99 but they charged me 1 extra dollar without mentioning. The person taking orders was not helpful at all. Also the tables were not taken care because they were dirty. I got the order quiet quickly and the portion is big. However, the taste was not as I expected. The meat was flavorless and the onions tasted horrible. Hopefully, they have a white and red spicy sauce which improved the flavor. We each had the chicken shawarma over rice and then shared hummus, falafel, and fries. Everything was so good I can't tell you what was the best! Really an excellent place for Middle Eastern Halal food! Super friendly and accommodating staff. The food is fantastic, with really generous portion sizes. I got the rice bowl with chicken and falafel and it was super fresh and filling. The chicken was tender and moist and the falafel was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Loved the fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, which provides both crunch and freshness to contrast with the various sauces and the chicken. This place is on the smaller side, so accommodating larger parties will be more difficult. But other than space size, really lovely restaurant with friendly people! Now I can said this plaza is officially Middle Eastern plaza because many new restaurants, grocery, and bakeries are opening here. Fire up is the latest restaurant open here. They have a sister company in cross creek. We got the combo meal and lamb kabab. The combo meal is the slice chicken and shaved Gyro. The gyro is crispy and tasty. Chicken is a bit below average. The dish comes with rice and veggies. The lamb kabab was grilled perfectly. Lamb meat marinated is ok. I think the cross creek location is better. Overall is good food. First allow me to relate just how very nice the owner was when I came in. A few weeks ago my car battery died and I had already eaten. It was a Monday and my friends at nearby Saigon Bay were off. So I came in and asked if I could use their outside table while I waited for roadside. They insisted I sit inside and I bought some water as a gesture to say thanks as I was really full from lunch still. It was then I vowed to return. On the front they have a big sign that says HALAL BURGERS. So tonight I came in to give it a shot. Keep in mind I love burgers, and a nearby place makes one of my favorites, so the competition is fierce haha. I asked a few questions about the burger, including toppings and sauce and the counter person answered all of my questions. That's a big plus one in my book. My burger came out as pictured with fries. OMG the fries. Hot and salted and fresh. The burger came out and when I unwrapped had a magical aroma of charcoal and beef. It's perfectly executed and made exactly to order. Literally burger juice IN THE WRAPPER. Dude! Service is fast considering all items are made from scratch and to order (or so the sign says). I've eaten here several times. The staff are always welcoming me. Every time I order food, it is fresh and made to order. I've eaten the falafel which is fried perfectly. I've also had the chicken shawarma, which is well seasoned and very tasty. The meals come with rice and fresh green salad. I definitely recommend and will continue to support this business. This is a hidden gem in the middle of Temple Terrace. Do not let counter service turn you off, the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully packaged. Everything is made fresh in house, even the white sauce and red sauce. We tried quite a bit, each dish was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Conversation stopped once the food arrived and all that was heard was "mmmm" and "you gotta try this". You know when you are full, and you know you should stop eating, but the food is so ridiculously good that you keep eating? Yup, it's THAT food. Between the six of us we tried/devoured: the lamb shawarma platter (even the rice and salad were delicious), the beef shawarma platter, the lamb gyro, the lamb kebab, the Kafka platter and something that isn't on the menu but is on their IG (pita with a seasoned ground beef, pressed on the grill and topped with fries- this is not a burger). We all loved our own dishes, but the ones we would get again were the lamb shawarma (so tender), the lamb gyro (hands down best we have had since moving to Florida- sorry Tarpon Springs), and that dish with no name from their IG. Look how beautifully this was packaged. Drinks are all bottles (no wine or beer), nice selection of international sodas, teas and juices. The ladies at the counter were very friendly and quite helpful in describing what each dish was. There are so many delicious dishes to choose from, you may want to choose a few and eat family style. read more

Delicious!! If you want Halal food that is really close to NY style Halal food, this is your spot! Trust me. I'm super picky and have tried a few Halal spots here. This is by far the best for chicken over rice. The portions are huge. One order lis enough for 2 ppl...maybe 2 and a kid, depending on how much you eat. I don't eat much at one time, so it's enough for 3 meals for me. The only thing that's different from traditional NY Halal food, IMO, is the rice b/c it's yellow instead of white (turmeric seasoned, I think), and I don't think it's basmati rice either, which I prefer. We ordered at the temple terrace location; we tried the chicken shawarma with rice and also in wrap form. Both entrees were very good and are complemented well with their hot sauce. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and cleanliness of this place. All of their food is Halal! Although it is small, it is inviting. The food is fresh and cooked to order so you may have to wait ten min for your food but it is well worth the wait. We had a cheese burger, Beef Shawarma, and a Lamb Shawarma platter. The staff were friendly and patient, while we decided what to order. My Beef Shawarma was stuffed with delicious beef and the wrap was fresh and warm. The Lamb was tender and served over rice. This place is great, first time trying halal and this experience is going to set the bar high for the next one we try. Walked in and immediately greeted. Love the look of the inside. They appear to have seating inside and do quite a bit of pick up. I had the swarms chicken and swarms lamb, with rice and salad. It came out freshly made and hot. Flavors were very good as well. This place popped up on my instagram so I gave it a try, the food was decent but nothing to brag about. I got a chicken wrap and a combo over rice which I think with just a little more flavor the food would be perfect. The customer service lacks though. I walked in and the girl just stared at me, no hello or anything and she was very short with me and not friendly or good at providing customer service. I told her what I wanted and she rang it in wrong and tried to fight me on it until she finally realized and corrected the mistake. The cooks made 2 wraps instead of what I ordered and she was rude to them and said "uh hello, this is supposed to be over rice". About 5 mins later I see her bagging an order and she just places it on the counter and doesn't say anything, a couple mins later she says "my love, this is your order" ... how would I know if you don't say anything? It could have been someone else's, a delivery, anything. So I grabbed my food and left. Prob won't return. read more
