How is this place still in business? The first warning sign to walk out should have been the strong smell of urine and feces that hit me in the face as soon as I walked in. The whole place seemed dirty, dark, and dreary. The salon looks nothing like the Yelp photos. There were piles of dog hair everywhere. My dog does not smell clean at all! She smelled like a dirty moldy crate as soon as I got in the car and the smell is still lingering! I really regret ever bringing my dog here. I don't think she was even bathed! Her nails were barely cut or trimmed. They also charged way more than other places. Stay away from this creepy filthy place! They didn't even have a business sign up. The whole place was a turn off. Very unhappy! Complete waste of money. read more

Fantastic! I came here with my maltipoo and everyone was very sweet and professional. He looks absolutely fabulous and smells great! The price was very reasonable at $55. It also only took them 1.5 hours to groom him which was super fast and they called 20 minutes before he was ready to be picked up. read more

We have frequented this groomer for over 5 years and never had an issue but now we will unfortunately have to find somewhere else. My mother dropped our dog off for an 8:30 appointment and never heard from them by 1:30 so she showed up. The groomer had no idea that my dog was there and he was left in a crate for 5 hours. I guess this place lacks professionalism because they did not even try to call my mother and ask where my dog was for his appointment. My poor dog had to spend 5 hours in the crate (very cruel) and still did not end up getting groomed. Shame on you guys. read more

Thank you thank you thank you For the last 8 years whenever I took Gracie to the groomer she would come back a complete mess, to the point where she wouldn't sleep or eat for days, we went several times to the vet after having her groomed and it ended up costing us a lot of money it got to the point where we would look for any excuse not to take her to the groomer until it got to the point where she absolutely was in pain from all her hair matting A few days ago we got to that point where we decided she needs to go to the groomer and we reached out on Facebook asking people for a recommendation for a good groomer, close to 90% recommended that we take them to the downtown dog, we where nervous, we knew we are opening a can of warms, we know that we have 2 weeks of broken sleep and hours at the vet ahead of us but we had no choice We dropped off the dogs Monday morning, we where a wreck, we looked for any excuse to call them and see how she is doing (we had both dogs there, but Addison was never a problem) every time we where assured that she is doing fine which was a huge relief. We picked up the dogs expecting to see Gracie shiver and stand at the corner but instead we got a happy dog with its tail wagging excited to see us, at home Gracie right away went to her dish and ate all her pebbles, she fell asleep on her mommy and slept until we got up, she eats she sleeps she is not shivering she is happy and looks so cute with her new haircut. We love the Downtown Dog!! They're always very accommodating for us. We bring our pit/lab mix down once a month and he always looks and smells amazing after!! I really love at the holidays when they add a little bandana or flower to his collar :) We try to set up our appointments with his sister since she goes as well and the staff are wonderful with the terrible two! I've never had a problem with any of the times we've gone. The staff is super nice and the place always looks clean and smells good. It's nothing like your average groomer. It feels more high class while still being priced for the average customer! We'll never go anywhere else! read more

I take both my dogs and senior Golden and a three year old Goldendoodle to Downtown Dog. They come home looking so manicured and smell so fresh. My dogs and I love The Downtown Dog! My Newfoundland and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel receive excellent care. They like to romp in the woods, so they look a bit shabby when we arrive, but they are transformed into show dogs! On my first visit, Katherine discovered a problem with Banjo's anal gland. I can't say enough good things about Downtown Dog! We have two Airedales who are a challenge to groom, one who is over 10 years old and sometimes cranky and the other with some unusual skin problems. The first time we took them to Downtown Dog, both dogs were overdue for haircuts. Katherine and her staff not only gave them a warm welcome and fantastic haircuts, but also advice on products to treat the skin problems.
