These guys are phenomenal. We bought a new house and there were a lot of issues with the irrigation and some of our bushes and trees were getting no water. Don came by personally and explained why things weren't working and possible reasons why it was why it was, and pointed out an old corroded pipe. There was no upsell, just a very thorough explanation and walkthrough. He took his time to explain the issues and showed the product he would be putting in. After coming back with a very reasonable quote, he scheduled the work out for a week. He arrived on time at 6:30am and by 1pm all the work was done, everything was buried, clean, and Don showed me where all the emitters were, how to program it, and took our payment information. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone that needs irrigation work done. If, like me, you have those awful poly irrigation pipes that need to be fixed about twice a month after a certain amount of time, do yourself a favor and just call them. The entire experience was about as easy and pleasant as could possibly be. When Don initially called me back, I explained to him exactly what I wanted done. He quickly provided an itemized estimate for the work I wanted. When the day came for his company to do the work, he showed up in the window he promised and work was completed the same day. UPDATE: Unfortunately, the response below from the Drip Doctor is not accurate. It's not one late or missed appointment, but rather three (one of which admittedly was not their fault, but the lack of timely notification was). There was nothing to fix in my irrigation system, since it was determined there was no leak, and I was not called by the technician yesterday, I received an email more than an hour after the scheduled appointment. My emailed response after the third missed appointment was much kinder than "don't bother". It was quite polite and included an offer to pay for their time on the original visit, which they told me was not necessary. I resent being accused of rudeness when none was present in my communications throughout this process. Rather I was quite tolerant of the need to reschdule multiple times due to missed appointments and their lack of timely follow up. I stand by what I wrote in my review. Original Post: I suspected a leak in my drip system, and some of my landscape lights were not working properly. We had an appointment for 1-2 PM. He did not arrive until almost 3, although I did eventually get a call that he was running late. It turned out he did not have the bulbs needed for my lights on the truck, so we made another appointment for a few days later. Just about the time he was due to arrive, he called and said the warehouse was out of the bulbs and he'd need to reschedule, so we booked yet a third appointment for 9-10 AM today. It is now almost 11 and no call, and no Drip Doctor. I cannot in good conscience recommend them due to their lack of reliability, although they do appear to be knowledgable (which is why I did not give them only one star). read more

If he doesn't answer the phone when I first call, I know I can count on a call back from Don the same day. His tech Mark is knowledgeable and friendly, and the repair gets done right the first time. After reading reviews, I decided to call the Drip Doctor (DD) for an estimate. When decision time came, I had a few bids considerably less than DD's but realized that quality, professionalism and peace of mind were worth the money. Don's crew was on time, completed the installation and put everything in my yard back into place. I did have one hiccup with the system (my own timer was not set correctly) and Don sent someone out ASAP to solve the problem. I tried for two weeks to get Don to come to my house for an evaluation of our system. Called on Monday, played phone tag till Thursday. Don said the earliest someone could come out was next Tuesday. O.k. Monday he called and said he hadn't gotten my address so he had to let my appointment go. Um, o.k. I gave him my address. The next available was Friday, between 2 and 3. At 3:15 Friday he called to say his guy was stuck on a job and couldn't make it. Um, o.k. He said it would be Monday. Monday came and went and no show. So, two weeks later, nothing, no call to say "sorry," nothing. I understand they're busy, but set a date and keep it, it's just good business 101. I'd skip this business if I were you. We called Don for a problem with our irrigation system valves (leaking and wasting water) and to add some drip to some areas of our yard. Don came out, assessed the situation, flushed the valves (took care of the leak), and scheduled us for the additional services. Montana came and was absolutely the most courteous and careful worker we've ever had in our yard. He made sure to put ground covers back, cover the lines, and ask whenever he had a question about our preferences. He was proactive about increasing irrigation to some plants that needed it, and decreasing it where plants were receiving too much water. He cleaned everything up, and the yard looked great when he was done. He carefully worked around existing plants and NONE were damaged (that's rare in my experience). After many previous less than satisfactory experiences with 5 other companies, I've found the irrigation company I can rely on. I had two very high water bills soon after I moved to Tucson. It was due to an irrigation leak. I had a company recommended by my handyman address the leak. I had another moderately high bill the following month, which is when I called Drip Doctor. Don came out and helped detect another underground leak and fix it. My water bill has come back to normal and what I think corresponds to the true usage, this month. Don was extremely thorough, and is very knowledgeable. He went out of his way to show me every detail of how the timer works (I am from Boston and have never dealt with these before), and told me recommended watering schedules for my different stations. He also showed me the water meter and how to read it. Their rates are very reasonable and completely worth it given their knowledge and service. It is not often I even take the time to write a review or a response. I appreciate the apology but this is a lie. Owning a business (or several as this one) is not easy. But lying to a potential new customer or existing customer is not okay. Don missed our appointment by one day. He arrived on Thursday (put a business card in our front door) rather than Friday at 10:00 am as scheduled. When I called him, he said that I had the appointment wrong (I certainly would not make that mistake knowing we had to drive 4 hours to meet him). When asked if he could come back that day, he was too busy, booked two weeks out and perhaps I should find someone else to do the work. We hung up. My husband called him back stating we had driven a long way to meet him and could he meet us sometime that day or Saturday? He said no and eventually hung up on my husband. I decided to go with this service based on all the rave reviews I saw on Yelp. However, I was very displeased with the technician and his failure to keep his appointments or communicate properly. I left a message on 10/03/18 on the main number to inquire about an estimate to look at our irrigation/sprinkler system. Received a return call from Justin, and we arranged an appointment on 10/3 in which Justin said he would come between noon to 1:30pm. Left a message at 1:43pm to see if he's still coming. He called back at 1:53pm saying he was behind on his current appointment. He offered to come later that afternoon, I told him I would be home until by 5:30pm if that worked for him, so he then offered to come by the next morning before work. I told him I leave for work at 8am, and he then offered to come at 7am. I call and leave a message at 7:10am this morning asking if he is coming. I do not get a return call until 7:58am. My husband speaks to him, and tells my husband that he advised ME that he would come between 7am and 8am (which he did not tell me), and that "appointments are scheduled for any time between 7 and noon." My husband decides to tell Justin don't bother coming, we have to leave for work now. Two missed appointments within 24 hours. I will at least give Justin credit for making strides to come out as soon as possible, and Justin was apologetic. I was just very disappointed to not even receive a call that he was going to be late for the first appointment (and I understand things get busy), and then miss the second appointment altogether.
