We believe in it and have referred many families over the years because of that. The issue is not the therapy. It is the ownership experience. James' demeanor, tone, and communication style are consistently passive aggressive and customer unfriendly. As long term paying members, we were repeatedly policed about start times, end times, and minor cleanup expectations in a way that felt adversarial rather than service oriented. To be clear, we never objected to following posted guidelines. We understand there are rules in a children's salt room. With an 18 month old and a four year old, some salt occasionally ends up outside the sandbox area. That is simply reality. If the business needs to charge a small cleaning fee when that happens, that is completely reasonable. We would gladly pay it. What is not reasonable is being treated like a problem instead of a customer. On more than one occasion, feedback was delivered through body language, abrupt door handling, and indirect comments, including waiting until I stepped out to address concerns with my 37 week pregnant wife. There was also a direct comparison that "this doesn't happen when the nanny comes," which felt personal and unnecessary. This was never about refusing to follow policies. It was about professionalism and basic respect. We have referred multiple families over the years who have independently shared similar feedback about James' tone and demeanor. His wife has always been warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, James' presence creates a very different experience. If you are considering The Salt Retreat, know that the therapy itself is excellent. Just understand that the customer experience may not match the quality of the treatment.

I have allergies/sinus issues and I could tell a difference with the first session. The group room had 4 chairs in it, they were reclining and also heated which was awesome. I would recommend bringing a small blanket or a jacket with you, it is a little chilly in the room. They also have private rooms if you'd prefer to be alone.

Salt therapy is where tiny salt particles are in the air that you can breathe in while in the chamber (sauna) to help with breathing or allergies. Loves trying this new therapy as my allergies are kicking up for fall. The treatment took 35 minutes and was accompanied by a very low heat. A little warm, but not hot. The overall experience was very relaxed and enjoyable. As always, the store was incredibly clean and you can tell the care they take to keep the equipment and space very sanitary. I went on a Wednesday, midday, and they have a nurse on staff at this time for IVs and vitamin shots so I was also able to get my B-12 done and not have to do an extra visit to my doctor!

Cryo1one has three locations throughout Dallas which works out very well for me. While I have the…read moreoption to use my membership at any of their locations, I always went the Preston-Royal location as it was the location I started at. That location was damaged as part of severe storms/tornados that hit Dallas in October 2019. Thanks to the multiple Cryo1one locations, I was able to keep my sessions going without interruption. As for this specific location, while it is not as conveniently located for me, I do enjoy stopping through occasionally. Out of the 3 locations, this is newest and because of where it is located, it has the best parking options. In addition to a dedicated spot at the front entrance, there are two dedicated spots in the nearby parking garage near the rear entrance. In the event those are occupied, there is plenty of parking available throughout the parking garage. If l lived or worked closer this would be my primary location. This location has two cryotherapy chambers and trust me, they get as cold as the other locations. In addition to cryotherapy, this location also offers B12 shots, Lipo shots along with other IV therapy which are currently offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Frequently, they have specials which are a combination cryotherapy session with B12, Lipo shots or other IV therapy. Consistent with the other locations, the staff here is super friendly and very professional. As per the process, they assign a room, provide the socks/gloves, prepare the chamber and then leave the room. Once the member is properly 'dressed' and in the chamber, they return to start the session. They remain in the room during the session and talk with the member the entire time. While it is only a 3-minute session, having them present to talk to really helps the time go by quickly. Once the session ends, the staff leaves the room so the member can exit the chamber and get dressed to leave. Scheduling a session for any of the locations is done via the Cryo1one website and/or app. I have their app downloaded which makes it convenient to schedule a session on the go. This said, initial signup is best done via their website or by stopping into one of the locations. While I was super hesitant to try cryotherapy, I took the plunge ~18 months ago and have not looked back. Overall, I am very pleased with health benefits I experience and really wish I had added this to my health/wellness journey sooner. As for Cryo1one; I always look forward to my visits as I know the locations are well managed. The locations being well-managed was useful during the initial covid stay-at-home orders. All locations remained open during that time and with all the necessary covid protocol put in place. Additionally, they reduced their capacity by limiting the number of chambers in use at a time. The same practices put in place then continue to be used today to ensure everyone is safe as possible. If you are wondering if cryotherapy is for you; I will paraphrase George Clinton in the song "P. Funk": "...if you got faults, defects or shortcomings, you know, like arthritis, rheumatism or migraines, whatever part of your body it is..." cryotherapy will likely help it and Cryo1one is the place for you.

Note: Spa Castle states they don't provide sauna uniforms, but they do provide robes made of a thin canvas which is essentially the same thing. Everyone wears robes around the facility, not clothing, for the most part. That's standard for a Korean bathhouse. Great: The facilities are large and really pretty with a huge variety of pools, saunas, and lounging areas, and calming music. There's a gym too but it requires sneakers. There's a large outdoor pool area. Spa Castle is friendly to those who don't want to be nude in the locker areas as you can wear the robes everywhere. Every major lounging area had a water cooler available. They also have nice details like a swimsuit dryer and shelving outside the saunas to hold your water bottle, drink, etc. Needs improvement: There is caulk floating all over the pools, and it's coming off the benches inside the hot tubs. I would rather not have caulk inside my private parts. Tickets are pricey, and don't include any traditional spa services (massage, scrub, nails etc) which are an additional fee. At least one area was still closed, and not all pool buttons (water jets) worked. Despite the pricey ticket, not everything is in good repair. I had some issues with service. Be prepared to give your phone number upon buying tickets. I didn't want to, they insisted. Definitely started my visit on a sour note. Then, I was not allowed to leave the building to get my water bottle which I forgot in my car. I had to make a fuss before I was allowed to retrieve my water bottle. What the heck? I don't understand why the web tickets are not redeemable for 24 hours after purchase. That makes no sense. They don't offer shaved ice for sale anymore, but the shaved ice pictures are still up. I wish they would correct these details. Unfortunately, I won't be back for a while.
