I love the dubliner in my home city! I go all the time, always have a great time. I wish i could say the same for my experience here in Boston. We waited in line for 40 mins, which we expected its World Cup season, but we had a 12 year old with us. The bouncers let us stand in line for 40 mins with a 12 year old and then denied us entry at 9:40pm. May i add they saw us with the 12 year old, it felt very purposeful they allowed us to wait so long just to try and deny us entry. While we were in line we watched the bouncers get into 3 very heated arguments with other patrons, not a good look. After they argued with us and the manager granted us entry because they allow under 21 until 10pm, the bouncers still argued with us. Once we were finally inside we were sat at a table, our server was very sweet and took great care of us! The bouncers proceeded to stalk us around the restaurant and harass us while we ate our dinner. The server was overwhelmed and got upset, we apologized to her many times and tipped her well. The managers eventually came up and kicked us out for "being disrespectful to the server" when that was not the case. We watched the bouncer grab the server and yell in her face to kick us out and tab us out. I'm very disappointed that the management of this establishment does not have control over their bouncers and blamed us for the horrible experience. Bouncers should not be escalating they should be de-escalting situations, as a fellow service industry worker for 8+ years i am extremely disappointed. I do want to highlight our server was fantastic, the bouncers were not. I do not recommend going here with the volume of the World Cup as they seem to not be able to handle it. read more

Went to this place on a suggestion from my nephew and man it did not disappoint. Walking by you would think it was just like any normal Irish pub but this place is something else. Of course had to get the pint of Guinness which never disappoints. Food wise we had the pigs in a blanket appetizer that was straight fire and that mustard dipping sauce had a nice kick. For the mains I got the beef Guinness pie and wife had the fish and chips. The curry dipping sauce you get with the fish and chips mixed with the Qatar sauce was like no other weird but perfect combo and the fish was perfectly fried and just delicious. Decor and ambience: delightful and charming, heavy on wood, lots of muted lighting. There are several large screen TVs set to sports channels. You can watch your European soccer games on multiple TV screens while enjoying pint of Guinness or many be some Irish whiskey. On game nights this place is popping, getting crowded and very loud. So be prepare for that. Food menu is way above average. Just letting you know that they make fish and chips the way they make it in the motherland. Big side of fish and mushy peas and tartar sauce. The restroom this visit needed tidying up or at least checked on hourly especially when busy. One urinal was out of commission, towels on floor ? Maybe an exit basket as germ phobic people now don't like touching door handles . The soap and dispensers should be non touch types now adays... I don't want touching germs potential on door handle when I am going back to seat to eat and handle a sandwich ... Floor was visibly nasty ... I've used restrooms in mineral mines , steel mill factories , and worse ; so I am not a dainty type. Maybe just an off night as always in past never a mention by me. It came with four different sauces, ketchup curry something sweet and mustard. The only thing good on that platter was the fries and the sausage. The syrup mixer for drinks was not functioning properly. Sprite, Coke and even cranberry was not tasting right. Fries tasted like they were done in bitter oil which hasn't been changed. Place was crowded and loud, the music didn't include anything Irish (kind of a must in my opinion), and they only had Guiness on tap for their dark beer selection. We booked this in Dec . It was difficult to get reservations for most places on a Sat night. Food: we started with some pigs in a blanket and with the mustard they were exceptional. For our entrées, I had the Guinness beef pie and my husband had the curry chicken. Both were extraordinary. Presentation awesome and taste was perfectly seasoned. Great comfort food. We finished off with a cappuccino that was quite nice. Service: we had a wonderful waiter who had just come over from Ireland a few months earlier. The service was excellent. Ambience : here's where out of personal preference you could give or take away a star. The place is vibrant and lively. Packed and the bar is rowdy very much like an Irish pub which it is. So if you're looking for a quieter dinner, this is not the place. In fact, my watch gave a notification that we were in a high noise environment. It is loud. But then again it is a pub. The food here is good but not worth the hassle. They add a service charge of 2% more to the bill due to change in good from the pandemic. That should not fall in the customer. The price of the food is not worth it. My burger was $18. It was really good hence the 2 star review but not worth $18. By the way the pandemic is officially over. When I told the manager this he said he doesn't own the place and that's how it is. Why charge extra if there's no need other than to get more money from people who are too drunk to understand. Will not be coming here in my next trip to Boston. DO NOT COME HERE unless you are ok with being charged more and with not the best service. The owner responded back saying that $18 is on the lower side for Boston and then she's like if you don't want to pay the amount of money for quality food, then don't. OK sweetie let me tell you something if you are reading this your food was not that good I guess we're just used to better quality food at good prices in New York a major us city. And also for the record just to let you know, everybody is suffering and yet they do not do that in New York. We have been to many different restaurants in Boston so far and none of them have served us a service charge to pay extra for the food that we had.
