I ate here with a couple friends on my recent trip to Boston and it was fine. Overall the food was solid - I had the Fish and Chips and also tried the clam chowder. The portion sizes were good and the Fish and Chips tasted really fresh. The restaurant definitely feels like an Irish Pub, from all the wall decor to the dark interior. The staff was okay. They were not overly friendly and we had to keep asking for refills to our water. Maybe we just caught them on a off day. They also did not have the wine I asked for from the menu. Overall our experience was not overly bad, but didn't blow me away either. I don't think this is a bad option if you are specifically looking for an irish pub to eat at as the menu had a lot of great options, but this also isn't the type of place I would go out of my way to eat at again. read more

Love this place. When I'm here, I forget Boston exists on the outside as I'm culturally brought into a new world. I feel like I'm in Ireland here. It's homely, welcoming, and I feel included. Last went here during the Red Bull Heavy Metal event that was happening at City Hall. Place was packed. We had the best Irish coffees and were able to get a table despite the crowd. I love the attention to detail this place puts regarding its decorative wood around the bar, the lighting, life music, and more. Great place to have a drink. Yes, I think the food could improve a bit - maybe some nice club sandwiches or vary the food offerings, but overall love this place. read more

Came for dinner around 7 o'clock on a Saturday. That's right before everything apparently gets insane! The food was very good and highly recommended, the staff was great considering how busy the pub became. Despite being nowhere to walk or move, we got consistent refills on our drinks. At least on Saturday night, it's extremely busy and very loud. Other nights might be more suited for dinner, but we will definitely come back if we're ever in Boston. read more

We were a table of 7, and unfortunately the service really fell short. After our initial drinks and food order, we barely saw our server again. We kept trying to make eye contact, but it didn't work~eventually we had to wave someone down. Even then, the response from the bar felt like it was an inconvenience just to send our server over. That said, the food was mostly good. The bangers & mash and the burger were spot on. However, the "Taste of Ireland" pies were disappointing~2 in particular missed the mark. The shepherd's pie had no mince (just potatoes and peas), & the Guinness pie was more like a beef stew than a proper pie. Really cozy dinner at emmets. My boyfriend and I decided to try this Irish pub and it didn't disappoint. We were seated right away even though it was packed--there's both standing room and table service. I ordered the beef and Guinness pie which I really enjoyed. It was flavorful and the crust was good. The infused beer was awesome. Mashed potatoes were great too, peas weren't my favorite but they were good. AMAZING pub and service - They sat us right at the table in the window (which was also so thoughtful, bc we had all our luggage with us and were trying to sneak one last bite in before our flight). Pub is gorgeous- dark wood, great energy, good smells, transported me back to County Mayo, Ireland. I had their brat special with the pint which was DELICIOUS and a great pairing for only $15! This place is casual, fun, and has all the Irish classics, such as the Taste of Ireland which was so fun, with shepherds pie, chicken pot pie, and a beef stew, and of course has some good beer. We loved their fish and chips. Possibly one of the best I've ever had. Crispy batter, fresh cod, generous portion, great fries, tasty tartar sauce. Can't go wrong with that one. After spending a decent amount of time researching Irish food in Boston, we settled on Emmets Irish Pub. My first impression was the restaurant looks like a genuine pub with a dark and cozy atmosphere. It was busy on a Sunday, but we did end up finding a table quickly. The place is small, but there's enough room to get around. I noticed several drinks on tap and a decent size menu. At $20, the Taste of Ireland is what we both got. I recommend this, because you get three different small portions to get an idea of what Irish food is all about. Out of the three, the Guinness beef soup was both our favorite. It's very flavorful, unique, and the beef was tender. The other two were great, just the Guinness beef soup really stood out. The bread that came with the entrees was fresh and delicious. Service was good. A little slow for getting minor things, like water, but it's understandable in a pub environment. Overall, one of our favorites spots while visiting Boston, and one I would definitely come back to in the future. If you never had Irish food, check Emmetts out! Was at the park & wanted a late lunch close by. Stopped in here after perusing the menu and seeing that they had a few veggie options. Walked in and the ambiance was fantastic. It was packed, but there were some fiddlers in the front playing Irish music the whole time which really added to the experience. I ended up getting the veggie burger & it was very mediocre. It came with fries & was very filling, but nothing special. If I came back here, I'd maybe try the burrata salad instead. My friend got the ham & cheese toastie which came with tomato soup. I loved the Shepherds pie that came out piping hot. My husband enjoyed his Guinness beef stew. I also tasted it and I agreed. I appreciated the large chunks of vegetables. The portion was huge and it was very rich so order this if you're very hungry, plan to share or if you don't mind taking leftovers home. Our children thought the French onion soup was excellent. We were promptly led back to the very back to a table for four right in front of the big screen tv. I asked about a table for four at the front but was told that was for bigger parties. Thought a table for four is a table for four. We chose to set a one of the few tables for two along the wall. This was good till after work crowd showed up and nine dorky looking office types set up camp right by our table. They were loud as hell and blocking the asides to restrooms and the kitchen. Ordered food, mine was really good, bangers and mash, wives Guinness pot pie wasn't fully cooked. Sent back, had to hunt waitress down to get a menu for wife. Waitress was very argumentative.
