The place is quite charming and delightful aesthetically. However, it is relatively small and does not quite fit the criteria of a public park. It may not be worth a visit if you reside more than 2 miles away. Yet, if you happen to live in the vicinity, it serves as a wonderful spot to enjoy leisurely afternoons - simply lovely indeed. read more

I came here to kill some time waiting out traffic and enjoyed it. You can't park directly on any streets touching the park, but can on the adjacent streets. Just make sure you read the signs. It is in a super nice neighborhood that is right off the busy street, but it is so quiet here, you wouldn't know you were that close to the main thoroughfare. The pond is small and you can easily walk the perimeter of the park. There is a nice bridge that would be good for pictures and of course the ducks. There were lots of people walking their dogs and jogging. I wish there were more benches to sit on. The ones I did find were just large rocks and uncomfortable. All in all, a good place to get some nature in the middle of the city. read more

WARNING: Aggressive and vaguely murderous geese. I brought my small dog there and one goose started stalking us and hissing like she was a prey animal. In fairness she is a small and fearful creature, and thus brings these situations on herself somewhat. Small park tucked away near peachtree street in Buckhead. Lots of wildlife for a park so small; the snapping turtles are huge and so are some the fish if you're able to spot one. Not very much seating, just backless stone benches. Very lovely spot though, I love sitting on the grass and reading my book there. read more

I was reminded today, when visiting one of the other boutique parks in town, if you will, of when I used to drive by the Duck Pond years ago when I lived nearby, and when I later spent a lot of time there because the bf's kids were totally enamored of it. Warm weather or cold, this is just a lovely place. Head over, bring a loaf of bread with, and enjoy time with ducks, strolling around, whatever your pleasure - this is gem of nature in our fair city. A gorgeous quiet outdoor getaway with families of ducks living amongst the pond. I had the chance to see baby ducklings sleeping next to it's parents. They didn't mind us at all as we took pictures. The community does charge for events and photoshoots though. Great for picnics, strolls, naps, etc. they have a dog walk corner with baggies too. read more

An absolute oasis. It has everything! Get your workout trying to out run the super-aggressive ducks and geese. Nothing burns calories and gets the heart rate up like fear induced cardio. Also, former pet goldfish get trophy fish status here. I've seen some that weigh several pounds. Huge snapping turtles that could take your hand off, and bullfrogs that could take your wallet if they wanted it. I only wish it were in a bad neighborhood to add a little more excitement. I take my kids here 2-3 times a week. They bring their little nets and we catch minnows. Then they carry them around for 30 minutes and wonder why they don't swim away when we release them. read more

Did I really just discover this beautiful, scenic paradise? The Duck Pond is a lovely historical area of Buckhead where the ducks roam freely to the shore, when not laying eggs on their own "private island". I was surprised at how cozily the pond fits into this residential area. There are several bridges to cross the water, and the whole area spans larger than a football field. It is undoubtedly breathtaking. Besides being a fun place to take children, it is also very serene. I would like to know what the Duck Pond is like on a "busy" day. The parking is unclear. In fact, I parked behind someone else on the perimeter of the pond--as if to follow their lead. Since this is a residential area, you want to make sure you don't block a driveway, and follow appropriate traffic rules. I can definitely see myself taking a picnic lunch and a nice book here to relax, study, or write Yelp reviews. read more

I love the Duck Pond. As you approach the duck pond you will see ducks roaming free. Most the ducks are fully grown but I have seen some baby chicks on occasion. It is a very friendly community, great for a family outing, taking young kids, or just for a nice walk. I take my dog there on walks and we always enjoy ourselves. Dogs are required to stay on a leash, but that is probably best since for the protection of the ducks. It is a hidden gem in the community. read more

Good picnic spot. People should know they don't have benches (at least not proper ones) and that to find a spot without duck/geese poop to setup for your picnic is a little cumbersome. Also you cannot feed wildlife. But most people do, which has spoiled the habits of the wildlife there. Even before you take your food, they will start coming towards you and poke their beaks in everything they can. Hushing them away through to the water 4 to 5 times worked for us. But time and again one big black goose would try to come back. People don't care about the rules of the park/pond and feed them, it is not right. The place was over all good. On a mildly windy day, and cool weather...this spot can prove to be very relaxing and serene. read more

Visiting from out of state with our 5 year old daughter. We had a few hours to kill before heading to the airport and we were looking for someplace near our hotel. We found the duck pond which is quite lovely. The ducks are very friendly and are looking for handouts but there are signs everywhere not to feed the ducks. There are plenty of turtles too. My daughter enjoyed imagining they were sea monsters. She also enjoying throwing pine cones, sticks & rocks into the pond. We were hoping to read a book there but there aren't any real benches, just a few rustic backless benches made of stone that aren't very comfortable. So BRING A BLANKET or something to sit on if you plan on staying to soak in the beauty, so that's why I am only giving it 4 stars. There are plenty of folks out dog walking the neighborhood and the surrounding houses are quite quaint. read more

I was thrilled to discover one of Atlanta's best kept secrets just a few blocks from my house. This beautiful, serene and peaceful oasis is such a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle of Buckhead around it! I walk my dog around the duck pond several times a week. Nice little park. Came here to take a few pictures and enjoy the scenery. About 10 minutes in, a lady came by walking her dog and informed us that photography is not allowed at the park unless you pay a $50 fee and reserve in advance. There was nobody there but us, and we didn't have any equipment set up...so maybe our presence was just taking up too much room. Won't be back. read more

Me and My very best Friend Matthais had some of the best memories ever at the Duck pond in ATL Because we climbed the trees, fed the ducks, walked all around the scenic Paradise, and saw 2 15 year old girls skinny dipping in the pond! Fun Times. Fun Times. read more
