Stopped on the way to MT. It was just what we were looking for - a good burger! The Good - The burger was delicious. We asked to split it, and they graciously brought out two plates and split it. They brought out mayo so we could make fry sauce. The service, mother and daughter, were both moving efficiently and quickly to serve everyone on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere is also nice. After hiking to Goldbug Hot springs we were SO hungry, and luckily this place was only two minutes away from the trailhead. It's your classic small town dive bar with a simple menu and top notch service. The owner was our server and she was so lovely. We sat outside because we had our dog with us, and it got a little chilly but it had the most amazing views. Even though all the other customers were inside, we still received great service and were never forgotten about. After taking a look at the menu I quickly realized as a vegetarian I was going to have to improvise my order - there weren't any veggie options on the menu which I always expect in small towns like this. I went to order the nachos without meat, but the owner told me she actually had veggie burgers available! I was SO excited because that's exactly what I had been craving, but would've never expected them to have that. I also got the waffle fries as a side which were perfectly crispy and seasoned. The food and drinks came out quickly, we got to chat a lot with the owner and get to know her, and had a delicious meal that we were craving after a long hike. What a wonderful local spot with incredible food. The woman who took care of us was delightful, offered wonderful suggestions and took pity on us since we just got off the river and looked like a couple of drowned rat who finally found a shower. The inside was so welcoming, and western. My Dad and Uncles really enjoyed the westerns that were playing and we really enjoyed the familiarity of the atmosphere. Stumbled upon this place while passing through and it did not disappoint. Local beef burgers cooked perfectly on a potato bun with many delicious toppings/cheese options. Surprising amount of beers on draft and lots of drink options. We all got burgers & tried the onion rings, hand cut friends and tots. Onion rings were easily the best with the tots as a close second. What a great place. Owners are friendly and accommodating. Great food! We came for the first timr to dinner for a great steak. Then, we returned the next day for lunch and a beer with our dog. Sat outside and enjoyed the scenery and delicious burgers and fries. Definitely will come back. read more

This is a hidden gem! My family and I were traveling through and decided to stop. It's got the best view of mountains if you sit outside. The beef is sourced locally. The staff is very nice and attentive. Three of us ate and all three meals were amazing! Definitely will be back if I'm driving through! read more

We live in Salmon,Idaho. Me and my little family were in Elk Bend on business when we decided to stop for dinner. It was amazing. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad, my fiance had a mushroom and bacon burger with a side salad and my daughter had the chicken strips and tots. I was enjoying my appetizer of mini tacos just eating away and using the salsa while out of nowhere the lady comes and takes my food with mini tacos still on the plate and I was so confused I've never had this happen to me before, usually when you pay for food you get to eat all of it but she just casually took it off the table without saying a word speed walking away so I couldn't get it, food was decent, only place within miles but I'll never be eating here again that's for sure. Ranch family owned and operated (3 generations) only means they must sell their own locally raised beef - and they do! Not only that, its the best beef one will ever experience. It even out shines Kobe' beef! Service and staff are excellent, food will keep you coming back again and again, and the staff will become your friend or pseudo-family. Tucked into the hills 30 miles from the closest town is a quaint little restaurant. The grilled chicken salad was excellent. My only complaint was it was a rather small portion of chicken. They raise their own beef and everything is lically sourced. And they sell ground beef by the pound. I couldnt resist i took some with me. Now hopefully itll last till i get back to KC read more

Great stop if you spent the day at goldbug hot springs and are hungry. The food is delicious and the service if super friendly. They also sell beer to go if your on your way to the hot springs and need a quick bite and a beer to take with you. read more

We had lunch there. It was good but wasn't exceptional. But, considering its the only place for miles it will do.

Awesome food. I just had the best club sandwich I've had in my whole life. (And I'm old). My wife who is ambivalent about meat ate her whole hamburger. This is a first for her. She said it was the best beef she has ever had. They raise their own cattle and the quality is much better than the market. They also sell hamburger by the pound and my wife actually couldn't resist and bought a pound to take home. The Resturant/Bar is super clean and place you can bring the whole family. This restaurant is new and they will expand their menu soon although it's plenty adequate for a new restaurant. The view from the restaurant is outstanding and you can eat outside to enjoy the view of the little canyon that it's in. The address says it's in Salmon but it's actually in Elk bend. If you live in Salmon and are thinking,"it's too far to go", believe me, as a Salmon resident myself, I was glad we went to check it out. Great service, great atmosphere, great view, what more could you ask for. The only thing that was average was the prices on the menu. They are going to have their Grand Opening Saturday July 6, 2019 complete with a country band. We wouldn't miss it for anything. read more

We made a point to stop here today on our way back from a flight to the Primitive Area out of Challis. The four of us had the nacho plates and lemonade and they were delicious!
