This is a review for the restaurant at the eagles golf club. My mom and sister live in this neighborhood. My mom, son, and I went for dinner last week. This was my first time here. The restaurant was empty on a Thursday night. We were the only ones in there (around 6:30pm) for the first 30 mins or so. We sat outside and it was nice and cool but screened so no bugs. Our server was really sweet and attentive, even getting my son some highlighters to color with. My mom and I split the Caesar salad and Cuban sandwich. My son got the cheese pizza. All of the food was very good. The only downside is my mom got food poisoning from here!! We shared the same meal, but I believe the sandwich halves were prepared separately and hers was tainted. Within 2 hours she was very ill, typical food poisoning symptoms. I'm still giving this 4 stars because I believe it was a fluke (or hope so) and pray it doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

I have played the Eagles Lakes and Forest courses for the last fifteen years during the months of January, February March and April. The courses are in the worst shape I have ever seen them. Brown hard Fairways. The greens have bare spots and all have sand on them. It's a shame, I love this golf course. At present it is not worth the amount of money they are charging to play there. Please bring this course back into shape. read more

I'm only giving this 2 stars because the Forest course is decent! I played the Forest course in December and it is ok with decent conditions and fair pace of play. The cart girl was friendly and other staff interactions were fine. I played the Lakes course in January and it is an absolute dump. How they are charging golfers $70 to play the Lakes is beyond me. The greens were in abysmal shape with clumps of sand in numerous patches on almost every green. Honestly, I would recommend playing ANY course in the Bay area over spending cash to play the Lakes course. If you can find a good deal, the Forest course is worth playing. read more

Was in awful condition. $100 green fee was way too high. Greens were the worst I've ever seen. Complete dog track. Don't waste your time.

Ok easy to throw stones but hear me out. Called a few weeks early to set up 36 holes for the boys golf trip. We were assured we could get to both courses - 9:00 and 2:00 Tee times. There was an outing going on but the starter assured us we'd move along at a good pace and fit everything in. It didn't pan out that way. The outing was super late getting off and it took us till 3 to finish the first 18. Then to do the second 18 they said we'd have to play the first 9 twice because there was night golf. We went behind 7 high schoolers that were taking their time. We only finished 9 by about 6:00. Despite their efforts, it was disappointing and greens were in poor condition. For a local public track in Tampa, this a pretty nice bang for your buck. Greens are generally in good shape, but there is some sun damage where it's hard for them to grow. The green speeds are on the faster side compared to lower priced courses. Fairways are cut nicely and have a flush finish. Flusher than most in the area. It's a difficult course and you need to plan your shots for good ball placement. Beautiful clubhouse and nice pro shop with everything you need if you're forgetful. Definitely a track I keep in the rotation. Reasonably priced and convenient to get to if you're in the Tampa Bay region! P.S. a storm struck a few days before and I captured some of the unforgiving damage. read more

We played golf there the other day and the course was in awful condition. It's as if they didn't mow in a week. Weeds were high and the greens were in poor condition. Definitely not worth $80. Very disappointed. If I had know how crappy the course was, I would have gone elsewhere or played a cheaper course. read more

Honestly a very nice public course compared to others in greater Tampa. Very affordable and fun track. I will absolutely be back.

They overbooked their teetimes so that people play into you all day. And the people that play into you think you're taking too long one actually you have to wait at every new hole. Then the Ranger screamed at us, as if we were holding up everyone else, one in actuality if they hadn't overbooked the teetimes and spaced the players out appropriately. there wouldn't have been a problem. The players were rude. The staff was rude. I'll never return. It was a horrible experience. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because Florida has beautiful golf courses and this is no exception. read more

The Eagles golf club is beautiful! I scored a phenomenal tee time on the Forest course this past Monday via Golf now. The facilities are modern and beautiful. The carts include GPS The range is great, many stalls and you can hit off grass. Practice greens are available. The course layout is interesting and challenging. Many forced carries over water, doglegs and tight fairways. I lost more balls today than I did all last season. I cannot wait to give it a go again given I now I have course knowledge. I highly recommend this course to any lower handicapper. read more

Nice course in good condition. A bit pricier than we usually pay to play around. Pace of play was good and courteous service provided both by the desk staff and cart folks on the course... Disappointed that for the money spent that we received a golf cart without working GPS which the course advertises. My friend's cart also stalled out on the course but staff did make a quick swap and we did not wait very long for it... read more

Sadly, it took about 5 and a half hours to play 18 today. Tee times are way too close together, so the pace of play is incredibly slow! There was also an employee who was threatening to take people's cart keys and kick them off the course if they didn't speed up...as if they could!!! We ate a delicious lunch at the Eagles Golf Clubhouse! I will go back soon and take some pictures...I guess we devoured our food too quickly! They had 6 or 7 pretty standard beers on draught, which hit the spot. Their bar seems popular and is always full when I have walked in before. I think they have a full bar available. The blackened chicken sandwich was so good, it had two large sized pieces of chicken on it and it was blackened and delicious. I had my choice of sides and I got cole slaw; it was really great! Not too creamy, and lots of flavor. My husband had broccoli with his blackened chicken (no bun) and they were big long stems of broccoli. We also had wings, and a buffalo chicken sandwich. Their fries are good! I loved our server too. We sat outside and it was a gorgeous breezy day, we had a beautiful view of the golf course. And our server checked on us regularly, and offered refills. We were the only table outside, but he made us feel welcome and well taken care of. I can see us going back regularly! And I can't wait to see how they're going to renovate the clubhouse. The interior right now is blah, so I'll stick to the pretty patio. They have prime rib night on Wednesday I can't wait to try. read more

Yesterday i booked a 5star golf round costing a total of 85$. As i arrived i was prompted by pro shop that there was a back up out there, thinking 5-10 minutes we went to load the cart, was informed there was no carts for me. A 70 year old man rolled up with my same tee time and was handed a key. I got my cart and was sent towards the first tee which was 15 tee times over booked. Including a 15 and 8 person bachelor party's. Those had already teed before the photos were taken. I went inside to speak with a super intendant as to why i was 45 minutes behind schedule on a 85$ round of golf and his answer was "i am not required to tell you who's in front of you when you book your tee time, you want 1022 you get 1022" i continued to ask "why there's 15 carts not out still the. And he said because he opens 2 tee times an hour for no shows" i said "if they all show what happens" he says "this". 5 other people in the pro shop all being double my age complaining they've never seen a tee sheet like this. All to find out the starter says it's like this every weekend. I don't know how this course has 5star reviews because from tee times to the people running the course. I was here at the Eagles Golf Club to attend a business launch that a colleague invited me to. He and his business partners had rented a room in the clubhouse. It was fairly large, and ok, I guess. Lots of stains of unknown origin on the carpets... made you wonder what caused it. The bathrooms needs some serious work... faucets, urinals and toilets all need some work... as do the floors and walls. They are in pretty bad shape. I am not a golfer... but I hope they maintain their course better than they do the clubhouse. The only place that looked decent was the bar....of course. read more

Previously played Eagles in Jan'23 and while a little over priced the courses were fun and in relatively good condition. Recently played in Dec'23 and conditions were not so great. They were doing work on a number of holes to fix irrigation so that might have been the reason. With roughly 5 of the holes having work being done and with piles of dirt in middle of fairway I would have thought a reduced green fee would be in order. Or at least some notice when booking tee-time. The real reason I write this review is because after hitting a very good tee shot on hole 10 we marked where my ball was (200 yds from green in middle of fairway) and went to look for my playing partners ball while waiting for green to clear (after his second shot). When we turned around to go back to my ball we saw a maintenance worker driving off and no ball in fairway. We tried to catch the worker but he drove off without looking back. After completion of round I went into pro shop to inform them and the worker behind the desk really could not have cared less. His attitude ticked me off so I asked for a replacement pro v-1 and he said he couldn't do anything. He found the whole thing hard to believe. And so do I! Eagles might be off our play list for a while when in Tampa area. Would appreciate any suggestions re: other courses in the area. read more

Its a solid four stars. The course Greens was well kept, it's a challenging PAR72, would strongly recommend you bring bottled water since there are no water coolers to be found, they do have a cart that goes around selling beer and other beverages as well if that's preferred. My brother and I came here on a Saturday morning for an early round. It wasn't to crowed, service was decent... if anything, one of the workers outside had to point out how we got there late and he had to let another group go in front of us, after we stopped to ask for direction being that it was our first time visiting this course... It was no big deal, I could've cared less about another group going in front, It was just his tone that rubbed me the wrong way, considering we were barely past our tee time. Service at the bar was decent, pricing was about right, just felt the service was rather slow. Anyhow, It was a great day of golf. The course was beautiful, greens were in good shape, enjoyed being surrounded by all that nature. $37 for an early round of golf wasn't too bad either. read more

This golf course is in very poor shape. Tee boxes are destroyed, fairways are brown or have no grass, bad patches on the greens with a lot of ball marks. Usually have to wait on a cart so you will likely miss your tee time. Practice areas have bad patches on them and lot of debre. The staff looks miserable.. there are so many better choices for 74 dollars. If you like hitting off dirt, this is the course for you. read more

Terrible service; had to ask for a menu after 10 minutes and after 30 had to ask for a waiter after seeing multiple other tables that were served that came after us. All with very little people there. Food is mediocre. read more

I really enjoy this course. Some of the tee boxes are a little worn down but overall it's a fun and challenging layout. The island par 3 #6 on the Forest is my favorite hole. The staff are friendly and helpful and you cant beat the greens fees. The renovations to the clubhouse are great and ongoing. Looking forward to the indoor outdoor bar in 2020. I always have fun paying here and recommend it for anyone who wants to play a fun and challenging course without spending an arm and a leg. read more

They took our payment and the cart man did say cart path only....OK, I've played that before but this should have been closed. On hole #1 there was a puddle in the middle of the fairway [halfway down] and it was so deep that the ducks were swimming in it. The rest of the course was no different. This is not the way to have good customer relations. Had they said that the course is unplayable....but you can play cart path if you want to.....That would have been a different story. But to not tell us how bad it was became deceitful and I will not go back. It usually in the Paradise Card Package.....Don't do it!!! read more

Unfortunately the staff booked 70 groups to play prior to a morning tournament. Players were hitting into groups of tournament participants and spectators and the tournament was delayed due to the overbooking of the course. No carts available for hours (2 1/2 to be exact), long waits on the tee box. Completely unorganized and rude when the situation was brought up. The course is rough as it is, we've had much better experiences on nicer courses close by. read more

I'm a scratch golfer with tons of experience from CA, to here and between. I played lakes 17 Jan 2017. Greens are awesome. Roll true. About an 11. Bunkers are pure, TPC type sand. Course runs fast. Hard to hold the greens. It was worth the $50 I paid. But your rolling the dice getting stuck behind a Sslllooowwww group (old age community). Did not see a ranger but I didn't care. I have good patience. Probably will return to Battle a couple of really neat holes!! Tee boxes for all skill levels. Clubhouse and food was good! read more

We had a great time on the golf course. The course was very nice and well manicure. The problem started after golfing we stopped for lunch at the club house. After waiting 1/2 hour to be waited on and 1 1/2 hours for our food we decided to leave after we was told our order didn't not go through and it would be another 1/2 hour. There was only 3 other tables and we had worked up an appetite and was not willing to wait another 1/2 hour. I think we will have our lunch somewhere else next time. read more

Decent course for a links style. I'm writing this post as I sit on the course for 15 minutes per shot. They need a pace of play ranger to keep it reasonable. Should be easy to implement since they have electronics in the golf cart with GPS. read more

Basically a nicely laid out intended golf course, but it is very very poorly managed. Don't play there unless you're prepared to spend five hours to play 18 holes! The clubhouse staff are only interested in getting as many people on the course and making as much money as possible with no attention to keeping play moving or starting groups at reasonable intervals that will make Waiting play on every single hole less likely and keep things moving.A round should not take more than four hours generally. At Eagles we waited at least 10 minutes at every single hole before being able to Teeoff. And it was not just one group holding people up, after four hours the Marshall finally came out and told us that some group about five groups up he told to go faster. On most tees, the group Front of us I had not even Tito off yet when we got there. Poorly poorly managed golf course! read more

Forrest course was in excellent condition. Fairways were full and smooth permitting nice rolls off the tee. Greens also smooth with a d reading. True. Thank you members The Eagles for sharing your course with the public. It is the best course in the bay area that is open to us. read more

I played the Eagles Lakeside 18 in a recent tournament and it was great. The course was is good condition and the greens were in very good shape. It seemed to me though that the distance markers were not accurate as the distances to the greens were actually farther than the markers state. As with many courses, the practice green speeds were totally different than what the actual greens on the course were. Despite this, the course is in great shape and a lot of fun to play. I would recommend it. read more
