    the restaurant and bar area!

If you're looking for a unique and fun dinner/bar in Rochester for a date night or group event.... This is PERFECT. It's almost like a speakeasy, where the front is set up like a travel agency and once you're checked in you get transported into this hidden gem tiki bar!! The food was delicious! I came here with my bf and friends. They were able to accommodate our allergies as well (I'm gluten free and my bf can't have dairy, eggs, nuts, fish, and they were still able to give him lots of food!). They had lots of fun drinks on the menu too. Definitely coming back here!

Made a reservation per the website recommendation and it is small inside so if you want to be sure to get a table, I'd agree. It's a fun little spot. The outside is decorated as a travel agency and the host walks you in. Our server was friendly and answered our questions about the drinks and food. Their menu is a "sharing menu". I will say that I think the best value are their family style platters. We tried the Mahalo pork which was good. Likely enough for 2-3 people. The Duck Spring Rolls were good but I didn't ask how many came in an order. It's 2 rolls for $18, which is not a great value. The Yaki Skewers were good. We got the shoyu chicken but again it's $15 for 3 skewers so not a great value. Drinks average $18 but they were good and came with fun umbrellas etc. Overall we'd return for drinks and maybe the pork platter. 4 stars for service and theme but 3 stars for overall value. They are right next to the paid lot and do validate but be aware you can get towed if the validation doesn't process for some reason. Yes, we've seen it happen

In through the front door, from the tempestuous outside that can only be classified, "Rochester," you find yourself in a small travel agency. There is a little port-hole through which you can glimpse another world. The travel agent, sitting behind a desk, asks if you have reservations (it's good to have reservations, but we went on a Monday evening, and we would have been fine without). She leads you through the giant wooden door and into Easy Sailor, a hidden tiki bar in the midst of a strip plaza on Park Avenue. There is an expansive food menu, and an even expansiv-er drink list. There are going to be a lot of (drink) ingredients on there that you've never heard of. Don't be afraid to ask! Also, don't be afraid to be like, "My last cocktail was really good -- for my next cocktail, maybe something a little moodier, less sweet, and more complex?" These bartenders really know what they are doing, and they'll suggest some options for your next drink. The pork skewers are rather good, as are the duck spring rolls. The only real downside is price: the spring rolls are $18 for two (delicious!) spring rolls. The best bet for food is to go with the shareable platters. The maholo pork platter comes with these plantain/banana crispy things (basically think sweet potato wedges, but banana-ey), delicious coconut rice, and, served within a pineapple half, braised and soft pork that is unlike anything you've had before. It was plenty of food! For two people, we ate like 90% of it. For cocktails, many of them are going to be sweet. It is a tiki bar, after all! Recommendations are to, once you've experienced a "traditional" mai tai or painkiller, go for something completely new and exotic! This is the place to do it, for sure. Pro tip: It's next to the UPS store. If anyone has trouble finding the door, just say, "Next to the UPS store."

Very unique vibe with creative drinks. Food looked great but prices for drinks & food is pretty high. I guess being on Park Ave may cause that. Bartenders are fantastic & will explain anything on the menu which for me was a lot as many drinks had ingredients I didn't know. Definitely tiki bar vibes. Wouldn't be my everyday bar due to prices but will happily go back again to try new things. They validate parking. Place is clean & inviting. So the only con for me is prices.

This place is a whole vibe and I loved it! Decor ambiance and overall experience 10/10 The employee tending bar was personable knowledgeable-she did a great job. We did not get any food on the night we went, strictly cocktails and we were not disappointed Other than at a Chinese or Sushi restaurant I have not had tiki cocktails . These drinks on the menu are one not like the ones one would typically make at home or even order at most cocktail bars. They have some pretty obscure ingredients and often a good number of ingredients-artfully presented and they are complex in their evolution while imbibing Yes the drinks here are a bit more pricey than other bars in the city, but having experienced The Easy Sailor, I understand. I would highly recommend and I hope they have great success ! When you go, just know it may be a little hard to find, as they are in the plaza rather than street view Park Ave-look for the mind body float center and look for the surfboard out front and you'll be at the right place!

This place is awesome - great drinks and wonderful food. The decor is top notch! Tried several of the Tiki drinks - spot on and surprisingly not cloyingly sweet; perfection in a peacock vase or kissing frog mug, or zombie glass. Started with duck spring rolls that were fantastic with a Thai chili dip (not too hot). Then on to Bento Box - several different delectables including sticky coconut rice, soy sauce marinated hard boiled egg, uni butter for won ton chips, and pickled veggies. Mahalo Pork served in a pineapple with coconut rice and spicy fried bananas - wonderful and unique. We sat at the bar, our bartender, CJ is a masterful beverage magician - we let him know what we liked and he came up with some wonderful concoctions for us, all with Tiki flair! By the way, you can't see anything but the travel agency through the front window - they will transport you to the Tiki realm when your time is right - really should make reservations, even for the bar; but they did seem to have some walk-in availability too. I can't wait to go back.

Great ambiance, drinks, and small plates! Ask for Captain Woody- makes an awesome Saturn and Jet Pilot! Not on the menu, but tiki staples. :) The Hurricane and Mai Tai also were great.

Great vibe, excellent friendly service and really nice drinks. We had a couple of appetizers (a cucumber salad and and a roasted veggie dish (both vegan!). Will definitely return.

Came on a last minute road trip to Rochester & this place is a MUST. Fun, memorable experience that is well orchestrated with a greatly curated decor. The pink haired hostess w/ the mostest (she made us a thoughtful handwritten list of places to see in town!) & Shawn were awesome! The drinks are STRONG but delicious. Highly recommend the coconut sticky rice, & both the chicken & pork belly skewers & love that they give generous ramekins of the sauces as well. You guys went above and beyond!

While planning our dinner party months in advance, the communication from Janine was excellent. She helped us develop a 4-course menu that was sure to have something for everyone, including vegan and allergy friendly options. Amy was our server for the evening, and she ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. The chairs in the Meyer's Den are wide and comfortable, the decor is dark and classy, and being in the basement away from the dining room made it very quiet and easy to converse with family. The room is rather spacious for 12 guests, but could also accommodate a few more people without feeling cramped. Out of the appetizers we selected, the Charred Octopus was very popular and everyone enjoyed it...even those that had never previously eaten octopus. The baby cauliflower dish was also a beautiful presentation, and quite large and enjoyable. The salads, particularly the Charred Hurricane salad, were nice light courses before the entree was served. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was a little on the dry side, but we really enjoyed the light and crispy spinach fritters that accompanied the beef. The salmon was a generous portion of medium rare fish, and there was lot going on with that dish - spicy cauliflower and za'atar potatoes that had some mixed reviews. Folks who ordered the duck breast seemed to enjoy the complex preparation, which had asparagus, green beans, and two pureed sauces - cauliflower ginger and cherry-rhubarb. The doughnut bread pudding with apple pieces and vanilla ice cream was a delicious, decadent way to end the meal. We left rather stuffed, and delighted with the overall experience that allowed our family to celebrate together.

For appetizers, we got the roasted beets and the bone marrow. Both were good. I got the duck breast for entree and my friends got the carrot cavatelli and lobster bucatini. We all enjoyed our dishes. The duck was succulent and roasted just enough. The Brussel sprouts that came on the side were a disappointment though. For dessert, I ordered ricotta pine nut tart with lemon sorbet. The tart was very subtle in flavor but good. My friends ordered the bread pudding which was great as well. Overall, very satisfied with the food and service. Can be back!
