Loved the view eating here - it is water-front with l a cool steamboat docked out the window as well. The patio has the best view but indoors was also nice! The staff at the Cove was great and I felt a little bad for them because the restaurant was out of a lot on the menu, even though it was recently updated, and they had to keep delivering bad news. They were great for everything within their control! The food itself was quite good - my favorite was the arancini which were perfectly crispy and plated on top of a delicious sauce. My dad had sweet potato dumplings on his plate which were highlight too. I also had the Caesar salad and the chocolate mousse cake - both pretty good as well. The one thing that was okay but I didn't love was the cucumber martini. I would go with a different choice next time though they were out of a couple of the other options. read more

Rude! I left my glasses at the Cove and didnt realize it until the next day. I called and was told that I had to fill out a form online and when I was asking questions the person on the phone kept talking over me and interrupting me and would not let me ask questions. Someone could not walk over and look in the "lost and found"?????? I had to fill out a form online and who knows if it will even be looked at. She told me housekeeping is in charge of lost and found and no one was there now. The form wasn't even their own company! It goes to some generic company called Chargeback. What a joke! The ambiance and wait staff were great. The food menu was a bit limited. The soup we ordered was extremely salty. They were nice to take it off out tab as it was too salty to eat. During a recent stay at the Hilton, we had 2 breakfasts and one dinner at the Cove. Both the food and service were perfect. The steaks, although pricey, were done to a tender medium-rare as requested and delicious. We shared the shrimp appetizer and dessert and had a nice leisurely meal. Ambiance and the view were great. That's where the positive ends. The waitress was new and her service was awful. She didn't know the menu or the one soup of the day. She ignored us when we tried to get her attention for some straws and a cup of tea. She never offered us dessert or more to drink. She ignored us when we asked for the check to pay by CC and not on a room charge. We brought this to the manager who said thank you for letting me know but offered no discount on the check. The food was subpar at best. The fries were covered in salt. The buffalo chicken was all dark meat, not the typical white meat, with sauce smothered all over it so you could only eat it with utensils. They made no substitutions on anything, even something as simple as mashed potatoes (which they had) for fries. All in all, would suggest going elsewhere. read more

The bar and restaurant are stunning with views of the lake, however some very elementary design faux pas that take away from the upscale-ness of this place. Service was so below par for an upscale restaurant/hotel. I sat at the bar with an empty wine glass for 20+ minutes, with the bartender too worried about taking inventory of supplies to get out of there for the night. The two couples on each side of me were tended to but could never get the bartender's attention away from his closing tasks. When the other bar tender came over to ask if I was good, my response was "No" obviously! I asked to close out my tab and sat for another 15+ minutes until the other bartender came back to the bar because no one could find my tab in the system. Recently opened - Wait staff were VERY good! Very professional, kept on top of everything even when it was busy - We had breakfast / brunch. The kitchen did a marvelous job of presenting beautiful plates. - Ambiance overlooking the lake is gorgeous. One day, rain was moving in, and the staff were fantastic at quickly closing the outside seating. The decor is varied and interesting, with a shore side motif. - Noted that they just recently opened - you might need to ask for salt/pepper/condiments but they have them. Beware of the credit card charges made by The Cove Restaurant. We were overcharged for our meal and after notifying Rachel and her manager Tara of the mistake, they charged even more against the credit card instead of issuing a refund. After notifying them of the second mistake, they requested 3 months of my credit card statements since they claimed everything looked right in their system. The credit card statements very clearly showed both mistakes, but they still refused to refund the money. It feels like either fraud or incompetence. Either way, it's very disappointing. read more

Went to the Cove to try something new. We had great outside seats with a view of the lake. We started with the Brussel sprouts which were perfectly charred and complemented by the sweetness of the bourbon bacon mostarda. The pickled Fresno chili's added a nice pop and not too much heat. I had the ribeye which was perfectly seasoned and covered lightly with a mushroom gravy and a nice pad of truffle butter. The veg was good but slightly too al dente and lacking seasoning but balance by the ribeye. My wife had the tiger shrimp linguine and really enjoyed it. It was a vibrant dish. We finished with a creme brûlée on the house(it was our anniversary, thank you Cove!) which was delish. Laura was awesome and attentive. She took great care of us even when she was blindsided by the unavailability of my first 2 drink orders. Which brings me to the 4 instead of 5. I understand being out of a single item because of its popularity, but to strike out 2x on a rarely served rum(Zacapa 23) and then Basil Hayden which is much more common and usually plentiful tells me they are still trying to get their arms around the bar. The Cove was quite loud on an evening at dinner time, we were just trying this place for the first time. It was not terribly busy but the acoustics were not forgiving for conversation at our table, should've sat outside. Had a reservation and once we were sat we waited to get water served to us. Didn't see our server for a bit more time after that, apparently they needed to be told we were sat (again wasn't very busy). They had no drink menu, the paper menu was sandwiches and some entrees. Sandwich arrived with a larger portion than an entree, entree at a higher price point. Food was ok, mediocre. Maybe we were not the type of customers this establishment is trying to appeal to. read more

Everything about this place is wrong-except the view if you get one of the tables looking on the lake rather than the wedding tents or the back of the waterfront bar... Hot sunny day on the mostly cement patio-5 tables had umbrellas. The other diners were left to squint or bake in the sun. All the tables had holes for umbrellas, it just seemed like the staff felt it was too much to bother with. Very expensive weird "Brunch" menu. Couldn't sub a side out without incurring the entire additional side charge. Food unappetizing, sloppily plated. Chix salad sandwich served open face with a pile of mayonnaise and tarragon anointed chicken, nothing else. Impossible to eat w a knife and fork, so scraped the chicken off one side and made a sandwich. No garnish. "Oven Roasted" turkey breast was more like deli-sliced, and in the midst of summer, the slice of tomato was harder and greener than the worst winter Wendy's tomato. Pointed it out to the waitress, she shrugged and said "I wouldn't serve it"...did nothing else. No new tomato, no comp, no other expression of regret. TBH it was below average compared to anywhere else in town I've ever eaten at, especially for the price. Should've gone to Wegmans and brought a nice sandwich to eat on the pier. read more

We had a really great dinner at the Cove! We were unsure of this place because it is in a hotel, but it was an amazing place to eat a quick, but romantic dinner! The restaurant is new and decor is awesome, but the views are the best part. You look right onto the lake with mountains in the background. The food and drinks were very good and unique. The even had non alcoholic wines and mocktails. I would go back just for drinks at the bar. They had a vegan entree that was very good (not boring) but the stars were the calamari (best we've ever had!) and the fresh pasta. You should go here! read more

As a rule, I don't love leaving negative reviews for restaurants. But at a recent weekday breakfast here, we had REMARKABLY bad customer service. We were staying at the hotel, and chose to have breakfast here so as to be quick and get on with our plans for the day, instead of driving to breakfast somewhere. Wow, was that a mistake. Did not expect our order of two coffees and two simple breakfast entrees to cost us almost TWO HOURS. The first sign things were going south was that no one greeted us or seated us. We stood around for a while, and finally WE approached someone who seemed to be staff. Took maybe 5 minutes to get water or menus. Can't even tell you long it was before we ordered. But I CAN tell you how long it took to get the food. About 45 minutes. With not a single peep from anyone. No updates, no apologies, nothing. Only when I flagged down our server to ask if we should perhaps cancel our order, did she acknowledge that yes, it was a bit late. At this point, due to their assorted delays, we had been in the restaurant for NINETY minutes. I know, you might be wondering - why did we put up with this for so long, but I was honestly trying to relax and be chill, as it was a vacation. Once we got the food, we ate quickly and left, but of course at that point, we had to change our day's plans, as we did not think we would need close to two hours for a simple hotel breakfast. They did seem short-staffed, and I understand that things happen, but the worst part was the complete lack of acknowledgement that any of this was happening. At every step of our breakfast (getting waters and menus, ordering, getting sugar for coffee, getting the actual food, getting the bill, which we paid in cash because who knows how long a credit card transaction would have taken), there was a crazy wait, and zero acknowledgment that this was happening. The food itself was good, so as long you don't care how long your meal takes, feel free to dine here. Regardless to say, we made sure not to eat there again for the rest of our stay. read more

On the pricey side but everything we have had here in our 3 night stay at the hotel has been fantastic.

You couldn't ask for a more beautiful view for dining or a glass of wine by the lake. We were greeted and seated quickly. The servers are all very polite and friendly but we waited a VERY long time for our apps/dinners to arrive (as did everyone around us). Prices are high but expected as you are partially paying for the view but felt food was OK not great. We had the calamari appetizer. It was heavily breaded so hard to taste the squid but in a tasty sauce. We had the scallops and the BBQ chicken from the menu. Beautifully presented but again just OK. Felt the chicken was dry and overcooked and the scallops were prepared well but light on flavor. We were dining with our dog and they treated him especially kindly and offered a bowl of water and prepared some chicken made especially for him without spices for $5. Our bill came to $120 for two entrees and an appetizer (no drinks or desserts)...but that view!!!!! Considering I can pack a picnic and get the same view probably will opt for that next time. read more

We did not stay at the Hotel, but we went for lunch today and we were all impressed with the view obviously, but the food was also top notch. Not allot to choose from on the menu, but the appetizer we had (Coconut shrimp) was so good, my Mom and Wife had the Buffalo Chicken sandwich and loved it, I had the burger and it was cooked to perfection, and the fries were great as well. We definitely plan to go back again, maybe booking a room next time. Our waitress was also very professional and courteous. Price wise, for what you get was well worth it. read more

My son was gracious enough to not complain about his chicken. While the restaurant suggests a very upscale environment, we went there to enjoy the food. After reading positive reviews and seeing great pics we decided to order take out. The salmon was overcooked and dry. The duck breast was rare. Thankfully we had a salad and calamari to fall back on. We came on a Saturday morning. The place looks beautiful however do not let that suck you in like we did. There were about 5 other tables of guests. The service was very slow and poor. The biscuits were burned and hard and no one came to check back to see how our food was. Eventually I was able to flag our server down to ask to remake. There was plenty of employees and only about 5 tables. My food didn't come as ordered either but I didn't bother sending it back. I had to wait about 5 minutes for more syrup. We're not particularly picky people. This was very frustrating with as expensive as hotel restaurants are. Would not recommend. read more

Reason for 3 stars are that I went to get a gift card- Father's Day weekend you wouldn't think I wouldn't be alone in this...people at the front desk said only one person can "do a gift card" and that person was off...very weird and lost business because you can't teach other employees to "do a gift card"....just weird and annoying and lost the restaurant subsequent business as it was going to go to a couple that go out to eat often.
