Was at The Eddy for the first time for a 30th birthday party this past Saturday afternoon. The place was packed! There was quite a diverse age range of patrons and it was a great space to be able to bring young children and allow them to be entertained for hours while having an "adult" time. The creative resurrection of shipping containers used for space allocation was quite innovative. The life-size games and "swing" area were sure hits for all ages and for this type of function the space was perfect. I would recommend The Eddy if you are going out in large groups; however, if you are wanting a more "cozy" date setting, this may not be the place for you. It was extremely loud and not a great place for intimate conversation. The restrooms were out of supplies by 5pm and they were never restocked before I left at 8. Had I started "date" night there, I would have had one drink and moved on! read more

hands down worst bar I have ever been to. not only did they check my id TWICE (the guy wanted further proof that i'm actually 21 but didn't check any other girls at the bar) but I waited twice as long as any other guest to receive a drink. I don't want to think it was because i'm black, but the white guests were definitely served before I was. when my drink order was wrong and I tried to correct them, they threw my drink away and suggested i ordered another one and pay again rather than remaking my drink correctly. the only redeemable qualities were the sky chairs. read more

The eddy was for sure a place of interest. Until I got there..... my friends and I were trying to have a great time on Easter Sunday without any of our parents because we are away for college. We are graduating soon and trying to enjoy Our last months for Reno. As we entered the eddy we soon got evacuated, because of "vaping". I understand the rules but we had no warning and were asked to leave even though our whole group had ordered food and drinks. I highly suggestNOT TO GO HERE! They were not accepting or welcoming. The bouncer who is an EMT suggested if I was in the abundance he would "let me go". This was extremely offensive and uncalled for. If asked to leave, fine, but insults are not okay for a local business. They are extremely strict for no reason, we were extremely supportive of this business and they treated us with les than respect. There's are PLENTY of places to go to in Reno and I don't suggest to support this business. An insult on my life is not worth my time on a lovely Sunday evening. I really enjoy the Eddy. The fact that you can bring your kids and have fun, while enjoying adult time as well, is pretty awesome. We had really good service last time I was there- I wish I could remember our waitresses name, but I forgot! However, I was re-enlisting for the Navy so i called and emailed and tried to set up a reservation ahead of time for a table. I got an email from the general manager Jered, maybe a week or so later- saying the pricing was attached, but it wasn't. I replied and asked for the pricing, and never received a response. This was on May 21. The re-enlistment was on June 8. So on June 8, we showed up anyway just because this was important. My last 6 years in the Navy before I can retire, and I knew all my guests/friends would enjoy celebrating with me at the Eddy. It was of course packed so my fiance ended spending $100 to reserve the table which is fine, we wanted our own table anyway so it worked out. This is why my review is on the lower end. I ended up leaving my drivers license there (Totally my fault, my son used it to use some of the silent dj headphones and put it on our table and I forgot to grab it). It is now June 14, and I have called SEVERAL TIMES, emailed and never received a call back or anything. The phone number on instagram goes to voicemail every time, and the phone number on their website rings twice and then says "we're sorry, your call did not go through". So I ended up stopping by last night, they were busy due to the NBA finals. There was nobody at the front. I found a security guard inside talking to a girl and he sent me to a bar where "one of the girls is one of the managers" I went there and she basically brushed me off and sent me to another bar. Then I went to the other bar and he checks his register and tells the security guard to tell me there was not an ID. The issue I have is how it seems as if I was brushed off. Maybe because I wasn't a paying customer? Who knows. The customer service while I was there and paying was awesome. It's just weird to me how it was handled, I know there wouldn't be a lost and found for ID's or anything, but wouldn't there be a place for all the IDs? The girl that was "one of the managers" said that she "only knows of one ID and its at that bar". So..... are there more ID's or only the one you may or may not know of? Or a manager checking emails? Or making sure the phone numbers on the websites/social media are correct? Also, how many managers are there? The security guard said, "one of the managers" so do they not communicate about lost items? I hope nobody leaves a cell phone or a diaper bag, or a purse/wallet or an ID, etc. here! I hate to say the customer service sucks because that's not the case, everything up until i was at the Eddy, and my experience after did suck! read more

Love the concept of this space. Super rad idea and theme. Only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because the lack of detail. It took way long to get our beers from the bar but enjoyed the selection. Limited seating because the water misters made everything wet. I do recommend checking this place out just don't be in a rush and if you are a large group just be ready to stand around. Loved the bocce and corn hole idea. read more

I was very excited for my first visit. I must say it was a little bit of a let down. The first bartender girl was a snob. So we went to one of the other beer stands. The dude was way cooler. So we got our beers now. As we settled in. There were small children running a muck. Running right through the middle of the Bocce games and the corn hole. Parents didn't seem to care. Keep the kids under control and it would be better. It's a great idea just didn't enjoy drinking my beer in the middle of a day care. read more

Used to Love this open bar as a fun place to hang with friends, enjoy playing yard games and relax with our pups. However, after re-opening post quarantine shut down, my friends and I were disappointed. I understand needing to follow the appropriate safety requirements to be open during this time, but the poor service presented by wait staff made us want to leave almost instantly. You cannot enter with a party of more than 6. You must sit at your table and basically only get up to use the restroom. There are not nearly enough wait staff or they are not being attentive to the guests to keep people pleased. All games are gone. It seemed to be under 50% capacity, and could benefit from allowing more tables and letting people move around. The staff seemed annoyed and frustrated which rubbed off on guests. Big believer in having a positive attitude at work. All areas were very clean and they were making sure to be following whatever rules they needed (and then some)...but our overall experience was frustrating and made us mosey down the street to Pignic where we had a much more enjoyable experience! Hoping The Eddy can adjust their layout and vibe and can recreate the fun atmosphere. read more

I love The Eddy. It's one of my favorite places to have a group of friends hang out outdoors and it's dog-friendly! My only issue is one from a serving standpoint. I was here with a group on Friday afternoon at 4 pm and it was crowded, which is great I love when this place is packed because the energy is amazing. However, at the bars, there are always lines at the service stations. I understand that you can walk up to anywhere at the bar to get a drink but when there is only one bartender serving guests and the bar back is just prepping fruit the service timing is still the same. Just as someone who has worked in bars my entire life I remember getting in two hours prior to service in order to prep for the night that way all my attention can be given to the guests and I can make the most possible tips I can while I'm there. Also, the lack of servers on the floor at 4 pm when it's a Friday afternoon is not beneficial to the common goal of the bar making money and people wanting to drink after a long week of working. So this is just a long way of saying, that they need more staff and bartenders be a little quicker. read more

I was here at 630 on a friday and the environment was relaxed. Water misters hang in sections to keep you cool during the hot days. (Not sure what the business will do during the winter time when its cold) There are no enclosed areas besides the bathrooms, only metal crates trains use. Drinks were roughly 9$ for specials. Not extermely impressed. Once 730 hit, the place became packed, childern were asked to leave and 21 and up were asked for ID to recieve wristbands and stay. read more

During the summer months, I had the pleasure of supporting the Eddy with my business on multiple occasions. First off, I would like to point out that that the owners of this business are amazing for supporting locals and non-profits, like the SPCA. Secondly, they have created a welcoming, fun and safe environment in the heart of downtown and my interactions with the bartenders have never been short of fantastic. Every now and then I become "that girl" and want to try something new without any idea of what that drink may be. Side note: You can purchase from any of their three bars regardless of where your card is being held. Their knowledgeable staff are always helpful without the sass that I've been given by other mixologists and their generous pours are great for the price point. Their dog friendliness and free games scattered throughout, make this a fantastic summertime hangout. Just remember that it is ALL outdoors, aside from the rest rooms. read more

The place has small tables set up in cargo containers so it is a very loud. No place you'd want to talk with table mates. There are three bars set up in modified cargo containers with a variety of beers. There were two food vans with limited menus. I went the Mexican route and a beef burrito that had very little meat, mostly fill. There are many fine restaurants in Reno. The Eddy is probably great for the 23 year old crowd but no place to go for a good meal. read more
