I moved here about a month ago and love my apartment and the staff. Besides the usual luxury apartment features like well-equipped gym, secured parking/mailbox, Edge has the BEST pool/lounging area I have seen in my time in the bay area. On the inside, the apartments have new finishings and are noise free, even though we are right next to Montague. I mostly work with Elena about my requests and she has been nothing but helpful and sweet. The only thing that bugs me sometimes is that the staff is difficult to get hold of on the office phone, most of my calls go to voicemail. Otherwise, no complaints. read more

We moved to "The Edge" apartments this Feb/March time. I have liked the apartment for these reasons. 1. We like the new property and feel for first time apartments. 2. Initially there was ample parking spots available for everyone. It was convenient to park on the same floor. 3. Overall, apartments are neat and clean and well maintained. Also staff has good behavior mostly and are approachable. Reasons I think I will not renew the lease because:- 1. There are not good number of parking spots available for the guests, which is very utterly embarrassing. Also the street parking is always full so there is no space at all where the guests can park. Being a resident here in the community, parking spot for our own vehicle is assigned on another floor, which was not informed or even given a hint while signing the lease. 2. Another incident, I called Security recently to allow us for a guest parking as there was an empty slot. They asked us to wait and someone will contact us. We never heard back till date. 3. It is impossible to organize a party using our clubhouse as we are asked to book it by paying a whopping amount. Already paying so much rent, the clubhouse should be available for the residents for any use. Because paying extra amount to book it is not feasible at all. At all. 4. The sound of the fan in the restroom which is always on, is very annoying. Unaware of the fact that how much it is contributing to the electricity bill. I recently moved out 4/6/21 and this company is attempting to keep my rental deposit. Sadly I knew there was going to be funny business when the inspector conducting the move out was attempting to create damage, stating animal urine stains. I had no animals. Citing prior damage that was not corrected. I have him on video making fraudulent claims, and he attempted to retract his statements, but admitted I would not receive my deposit back. Twenty-one days after I turned in the keys, I received a bill for routine cleaning and overinflated utilities. After contact with the leasing office, an employee who stated he was officially no longer an employee I was told that they routinely pass along anyand all fees they would incur for basic maintenance of their domiciles. The manager Elaina has yet to respond. This is blatant fraud and abuse of power. read more

The staff from the leasing office are all nice, if you have any questions they're always there to answer your questions or concerns. Specially to Elena, she's so nice with us. I ended up not signing at this place but if you want to hear about how ridiculous their leasing process is, read on! We visited the property and had great interactions with Jashika and Maya, both very helpful, except that they didn't give us much in writing so a lot of it was verbal agreements on move-in dates, etc. We appreciated their service and the fact they honestly addressed the tough questions we asked about their negative reviews, break-ins, etc. Once we applied another manager took over and told us our move-in date was 4 days past the holding date for the unit we were interested in. This was not the information Jashika had given us or agreed to. We asked her to clarify with Jashika, which took over over 24 hours as she was out of office. We then asked Jashika to speak to her management, but she came back with 3 other options and no response to the unit we actually applied for. All this confusion and back and forth went on for a few days due to the management team not coordinating with each other. We were prompt with our responses and have the emails to show the timestamps, however we were then told we're past the 48 hour holding period and our application fee was charged yet the apartment was no longer being held for us. This was ridiculous given the delay was due to their delays in communication and lack of alignment as a management team. The availability they have on their website is not the true availability, so if you do decide to visit them or speak to them, get everything in writing! Our preferred move-in date was only 4 days after what the manager was insisting on; if customer service was a priority she should have honored that Jashika had in fact agreed to our preferred move-in date. The reviews of this place don't lie, everything is great until you sign the dotted line, from there it's all downhill. Lack of clear communication, lack of flexibility, and complete lack of customer service and satisfaction made us walk away with a breath of relief that we saw their true level of service before signing on. read more

TL;DR: Great location, awesome amenities, comfortable floor plans, beautiful & luxurious units, super friendly staff, good security, clean, modern and pet friendly!! My husband and I moved into The Edge over a month ago. They offer multiple floor plans and top notch amenities (gym/yoga room, lounge area, central courtyard, business center, roof top pool, bbq area etc). We live in a one bedroom apartment facing Montague expy and we hardly notice any major noise; meaning to say the sound proofing is pretty good! Also, at first we were skeptical about the famous "Milpitas odor" that everyone keeps talking about but fortunately we haven't experienced any mentionable foul smell. All units are new, modern, luxurious and come with stunningly new appliances and enough kitchen/bedroom storage. Our apartment has in unit washer dryer and a smart temperature control unit (blessing!) The apartment also offers secure mail and package handling which, in my opinion, is super convenient. Parking space is secure, well designed and well maintained. The management consistently makes special attempts to keep the spaces clean esp. the gym, courtyard, hallways,trash room etc. Most importantly the staff is extremely nice, friendly, understanding and super helpful. Cici, Crystal, Paul and Elena continue to relentlessly help us and other residents. They are an amazing team and never fail to disappoint us. My husband and I have been looking for a place to live that was close and accessible to food, gas, stores, freeway and etc., the edge apartments was in the middle of what we were looking for. So, we made an appointment and worked with Elena. She was very helpful and informative about the unit we were interested in. She made our moving in process very easy and stress free. She is actually our go to person if we have any questions or concerns and she responds accordingly. We moved in here last April this year since my family and I were looking for a place that's accessible to everything. The place is great place to live in and the service is wonderful. One time somebody park on my parking space I called leasing office Tomieyah was quick to response and fix the issue right away. Plus one time I put the request to fix our bathroom sink and less than an hour later I was surprised and impressed by the quick response since the maintenance tech Rigo fixed the sink right away. He even let me checked the sink if is ok and explained to me what he done to the sink. Shout out to Tomieyah and Rigo! Your guys are awesome! read more

We moved to 1BR apartment here about 3 weeks and so far, I feel it's a great apartment, there is no doubt. - Our apartment is facing Montague Expy and we choose it for a reason since it receives ample sunlight and view is good. Once, windows/door are closed, I am not bothered by noise issues. Maybe if you need absolutely quiet, you should choose an inner facing apartment. - Staff is good. I had in person interactions with Cici, Paul, Jessica and they are always approachable. - Maintenance requests are handled very promptly. Juan is great in not only fixing stuff but giving decent explanation to why the issue occured in first place. - My friends definitely enjoyed rooftop jacuzzi. - Only reason for my review 4-star here is not having parking on the same floor, there is definitely scope for improvement there. If your reading then you are probably thinking leasing here. My experience has been fantastic so far at the Edge. I absolutely love the staff who have helped me out starting with Paul, Eliana, and lastly Grace. I can not thank Paul enough for taking time to answer all our questions when we first met with him and we couldn't decide between the Edge or Capital 650. Paul let us think and decide what was the best option for us and did not pressure us at all one bit. The moment that made me want to move in was when Paul had said the very time we met that he was going to be as helpful as possible for us and would bend over backwards of we had any questions or concerns. He explained to me that as a prospective resident, if I didnt feel the staff was providing a great atmosphere and a positive vibe then no one would want to deal with a lack luster staff months into their lease. The moment that Paul told me I could count on him to have my back had me sold that this is the community that would be happy to deal with their residents. This was not my experience at Capital 650, across the street. I had toured it twice and both times the staff made me feel like I was a bother and they only showed me amenities when I asked, they never offered. The moment my mind was made to choose the Edge over Capital 650 when our Capital 650 leasing agent Eric toured us a second time and he was on his phone the whole time and was very awkward, did not want to answer questions or said I dont knows, and he even was reluctant to show us the amenities again when I had brought my roomate. I thought of Paul and his candor and decided to move to the edge simply because I could count on the staff. Paul is a fabulous manager and he will help as much as possible no doubt it. My second person I love to talk about is Grace. I have been telling everyone to lease with Grace or tour with her because she is absolutely amazing. Words not describe her PATIENCE with me and her diligence. No matter how difficult I had become through this whole process she has been nothing but supportive. She is a gem to have and you will get a kick out of her humor. Absolutely can not thank her enough. Ask for Grace but she only works on the weekends! Lastly Eliana the property director is nonetheless a very hard working woman and truly patient as well. I was so nervous about out move in date but she kept me informed the entire time and she even helped out with my concerns regarding their great concession. I am so happy I chose the edge, I knew the staff would be able to handle me and my stress. Thank goodness I did NOT choose Capital 650. Our 2B-2B home was neat and tidy with new appliances and good community amenities. But security and parking are a major issue here. Also they charged us some additional bogus charges on move-out and added late fee as well even though we had paid them via check well in advance. Stay away from dishonest people. read more

We were looking at the apartments remotely and it was very difficult to find a good place and work with leasing agents at other communities but Cici at the Edge was very flexible and detailed in providing us with any info that was needed for us book it. Immediately next day, Juan came by to fix it. Juan was very helpful and he followed up with me around the community. I know I can trust him when I have another maintenance issue. We were particular about the house facing ( we only wanted a house that faced north) but Cici was very understanding and it took 2 turns to find the house we liked , thanks to Cici 2. After we signed the lease too, Cici was promptly replied to any questions we had and even called back to check the status of how things are going. We became resident in the Edge last April. - The apartment is nice, everything is new and first use. The only problem is that the fan in the bathroom is always working , you don't have the control to stop it. Also electricity boxes are reachable for the kids which isn't safe. - The amenities are nice and always clean. The only concern is that they have a restriction rule that only 2 guests could be invited to the amenities (pool and clubhouse) but for the clubhouse you can reserve it by paying fees. - We didn't try the maintenance service as everything is new in the apartment. - The visitors parking are nice and has enough spots specially before 4 PM after that it is not guaranteed to find an empty spot. - The resident parking is also nice and the idea of having the garage in the same floor of your apartment is very nice specially when having more than one child (but recently that is not the case as u may have parking spot assigned to you not in your apartment floor). It is not safe at all because most of the time cars are speeding up specially while getting down. They need to put bumps or something to force cars to slow down also they need to add mirrors in each floor so driver could see cars in the turns (they just have one mirror in the entrance of the garage and another one in the second floor only). If your apartment is around 850ft with 2 bedrooms you will have only one parking spot so you will be paying rent around 3000$ and up with one parking spot just like the one that has apartment with one bedroom and studio who pay much less than you. If you need another parking spot, you should pay 75$/month. - You need to sign up by 25$ one time payment to join parcel which is ok - The FOB isn't working for the garage entrance gate so you need to enter the code every time but it is working fine with the elevators and all amenities. - Members of the leasing office are so nice, cooperative and want you to have the best experience until you sign the contract then you will totally have another experience with them. The reason for giving the edge two stars is the way leasing office handle our requests and the parking spots policy. Before joining the Edge, we got tours in other apartment complexes in great mall area. We have chosen the edge for the apartment view (although it is small apartment) and for the garage exit being so near to our apartment door which we really liked specially when you have kids (if one of them is sleeping so you could carry him/her short distance and push the stroller of the other and if you have third child or fourth you will be moving short distance with them all so as a parent you will like it so much for many other reasons specially for your child safety) and that was the case until they assigned parking spots to all the residents. They assigned a parking spot to us in another floor so now I have to take my kids to the elevator and go to another floor then walk with them inside the garage, it was going to be ok if it wasn't one of the main reasons we joined the edge just to be near to the parking spot. I went to the leasing office the first day of assigning parking spots and told them that it is not ok to us they said we can't transfer your spot to your floor as that's our plan and nothing we can help you with. We asked for the manager contact so we could talk with , they told us ok we will email you with the contact and they didn't do it so we called the leasing office a lot and finally we got the contacts email by end of the week and when we contacted the managers they didn't reply until the end of the next week and after a lot of discussions and a lot of time, they told us "sorry we wanted to help you but unfortunately everything thing is settled down and all residents got all the spots and nothing left". We went to our floor garage everyday at 1 am to check the spots and we found a lot of empty spots and we are sure that at least one of them is not assigned to anyone. Now there is nothing we could do to take what we mainly rent the apartment for and the communication with the leasing office is really not helpful at all. We don't like to move a lot and our plan was to stay in the edge 3 or 4 years but unfortunately our plan changed now and we won't consider renewing our contract for next year in the edge only if we didn't find something good to move to which i think won't be a problem as there is a lot of new apartment complexes around. read more

First I wanna start off by saying that the staff/management is extremely rude. The office staff was only nice when moving in to get you signing the lease. Second, this area often smells like trash/sewage every other day it's impossible to have your windows open or walk outside without the smell of trash. The apartment is brand new and everyone is the first tenant which is nice. Security people are nice and friendly but not the management. read more

Terrible management, unethical policy practices, and inconvenient parking assignment. They would literally use all means to rip you off and take money from you. Plus the apartments itself had several break downs. I'm now trying to figure out ways to get rid of this apartment as soon as possible. Do not ever sign a lease and live here. You'll thank me later. The management will make every attempts to rip you off in various charges that they billed to the tenants here. I paid my electricity with my own PG&E account every month, but despite that they still charged me with electricity bills on resident portal every single month. I explained my situation to them, but they refused to remove their charges, which is not ethical and legal by any means! In addition, it is rare to find landlord who charged tenants for water and sewer, but here they do! This is disgusting and I want to save you from this terrible mess. I recently choose to live at the Edge and I love it here. I had a great service experience with Paul. He is genuine and always willing to help which made our transition from out of state to California so far manageable and easier. I've never seen a place that is well-maintained and the management care so much care to their residents. Even picking up small piece of trash while I came to tour because I know he cares. I was reading though some of the reviews on here and felt that the comments are bias and not fair and that's why I am to voice my first impression. I feel that the management is trying their best to work with what they can and given to them. Before moving in, I understand that I will be living with other people in the building, so there is an expectation there. I didn't expect to have all I want just because I am paying for luxury price then I would have chosen to live next door at KB homes for double the price for a mortgage. I think for the parking issue, I just need to plan ahead of time so my visitors can find parking for them. Maybe it's just me, I like to be healthy and walk to my parking spot as part of my step count every day. Keep it light and be thankful for what you have because life is good! read more

I have lived here since the apartment building opened, November 2018. This building is advertised as a "Luxury" apartment building. For me I think this description is used too loosely for this building. Features of luxury would include noise control, upkeep of the amenities and respectable neighbors. The noise in this building is ridiculous. I have the most inconsiderate neighbors that live above me, the noise from running and jumping of kids is out of control. I have complained multiple times and yet the neighbors above don't seem to care. This noise happens during the week days, sometimes until 12-1 in the morning. Which is a huge inconvenience since I work. The crazy part is the people above me don't actually have children, it is the guest that they have over. The noise from the hall with kids screaming, running up and down the halls with no parents and riding of scooters and bikes all contribute to my disappointment. To live in a luxury building there should be guidelines about children, enforcing noise complaints and just common courtesy of neighbors "all which are lacking in this building". The wonderful roof top pool/jacuzzi is not maintained. There are kids in the jacuzzi without adult supervision, the water sometimes smells of sewage and turns a yellowish color. The gym cleanliness is not maintained, it smells, people work out in the gym with their children running around and also with flip flops and sandals. The whole situation sucks because this building has so much potential to be great as it is in a wonderful location and has a great staff. I will not resign my lease unless i know that they can get these issues under control. read more
