This place is getting worse, hallways are not getting cleaned. Parking is always an issue, no one picking up the phone when you call them. Workers are lazy , got my package stolen before said I would get a follow up and nobody called me back, elevators are always broken and the damn alarms keep going off, they tell you no smoking but there employees are smoking everywhere, honestly paying how much you pay you can get better apartments then this place, staff is clueless only employees that do a good job are the cleaners, good luck getting a maintenence request , that's not getting done anytime soon , paying 3400 for this piece of trash, move at those apartments closer to great mall, don't be late for rent one day, they will kick you out!!!! I moved in about 9 months ago and by far I am having a very pleasant stay. what I was looking for in an apartment - 1. Spacious room with storage : Lucky enough I got a good one with good storage but incase u dont they do offer storage units so win -win . 2. Maintance : I called for maintance twice and both times they were very deligent and problem sorted within 24hours . 3. gym and pool : Maintained well, the restrooms are always clean , the pool is maintained . They also have two barbeque grills 4. Location - There is a garden just across . Mall literally 5 min away . Crossfit gym crazy close by . Food trucks visit frequently . We want to leave and the manager is not onsite and because of this we cannot give notice and nobody can't accept it only the manager. We sent emails, called many times but nobody answered. If you ask questions about moving out they treat you like shit, threaten you and extort you of money. It's been a week and we cant get i touch with the manager to give her the check of $6300 because we break the lease plus one month notice (almost $10,000). They just delayed as much as they could. My husband went to the leasing office and he was kicked out by David (very rude and disrespectful), he asked him to '"LEAVE , she is on lunch break." All the leasing agents are arrogant they don't help you with anything. My advice: don't bother to rent in Amalf, it's a nightmare (dog pee, poop on hallways, alarm will start at least 2times in the middle of the night, thin walls, pool is defective most of the time, etc) . There are better places for this money. Dog shit everywhere, you can check in the photo below. Elevator is down most of the time...every week one down for sure. read more

We live in 1 unit bed room unit it was nice and bo problem after 3 yes we decided to move in to 2 bedroom unit! They dont even give us a date to check the unit first before we move in since we have a good experience with 1 bedroom unit i am excited to move in 2 bedroom then our nightmare started the unit is infested with roaches and found out previous tenant move out with same problem! We stayed there because we thought they can take care of the problem and we are afraid of arm and leg charges for breaching contract until finally we got a chance and break the lease. We wasted money to stay in hotel during treatment that never take care of the problem. I ask for our deposit and ive been told if we can only return the unit in clean condition. But how can u call clean condition unit if infested with roaches? I wish i can up load the video read more

Pros -friendly staff -maintenance team always comes quickly when something is wrong in the apartment unit -has a nice pool area -big dog friendly Cons -they have a really bad fire alarm problem here. 9.9/10 times it's not a real fire, and it sucks when it's 2am in the morning and it goes off and you want us to evacuate outside in the sub 45F weather? -the elevators are constantly broken and it takes a few weeks for someone to come out here and fix it before another dumbass tenant probably uses their foot to hit a button. -parking situation sucks since you're fighting for space against residents of the neighboring town houses and apartments. Love that it is dog friendly and is a walkable neighborhood, with lots of families. Nearby amenities (like TJ and Target and a neighborhood park). You repeatedly report an issue and they never do anything! Just renewed our lease with Cecilia and every time she's a breath of fresh air in the stressful topic of apartments! Whenever we send the office a message or request for maintenance work, they're quick to respond and even quicker to help. Overall living here has been a blessing, especially that they allowed our German Shepard/Husky to be with us here in the bay area. Comparative to other apartments with such strict restrictions on dogs (literally no one would consider exceptions to our baby). In terms of location, my sister works at the mall and it's so quick to get to and from work for us. Even better that groceries stores are all literally 5 minutes away! I had to pay remaining balance around $100 within 15 days of that statement otherwise it will go to collection and hurt my credit score. I work in the bay area so not worth to waiting for follow ups. management sucks.. her name is Jasmine and she is the worst. I have lived here since end of 2015. Jasmine is the new manager she is not welcoming and so rude. Who does she think she is. Every manager that as been there have been so helpful and understanding but not this new manager. Not even a Hi when she walks by you. Who wants to live in the type of property like that. I've referred people to come and live here because I know it's a great place but Jasmine just makes it so uncomfortable. She even rolled her eyes at me and looked me up and down. I enjoy the neighborhood but there are false building fire alarms at least once a month, stolen packages (whether in the storage cage or at the door) and people staying past closing time of 10pm at the swimming pool being loud and security people take 2 hours to respond to those disturbance phone calls. The rent increase the 1st year was tolerable; this year is twice as much as last year. I feel like they're just about their profit bottom line and not keeping their tenants. I've noticed units sitting empty for close to 6 months but yet they keep increasing rent to force people out. As much as I like the neighborhood, it's not worth staying here. read more

Update Review: Our lease is almost over 1 month to go before I move out. All I can say is hands down to Amalfi's Staff. Everyone in the office is accommodating every time I had a question or request all through out my stay. Community is very nice and family friendly. This being my first apartment, Cecilia made moving in such an easy process. The apartment is beautiful. It has a nice big park right across the street. Perfect for our doodle. So far all the neighbors seem very nice. The bathrooms are luxurious. My first night, i stayed in the tub for hours. The in unit washer & dryers are a huge plus. We desperately were looking for a place asap and found Amalfi Apartments on Zillow. There were good reviews about the 5 year old apartment complex and we were just wowed when we saw it in person. We were taken care of by Cecilia and she helped us from start to finish. And she answered all our questions. I would say that it only took a few hours and in a few days we were moving in. I would really recommend Amalfi Apartments..it is just a few minutes from the Milpitas bart and is a very convenient location to almost everything. read more

My parents never owned a home, so I've lived in more than 20 different places across three states, and this is by far the worst place I ever lived. The apartment is incredibly small, outdated, and overall ugly for $3,000+ a month. The building has the most incompetent, inhumane leasing office I've ever seen. They will charge you hundreds in unreasonable fees that they make up themselves for stupidities, and treat you like a criminal. I absolutely recommend that you go somewhere else, specially at this price point where you can find much better places to live. read more

We lived in Amalfi for over 3 years. Overall our experience was very positive. Here are some finer points I've listed below: Pros: * Security cycling/walking through premises * Location (near great mall), very close to 680/880. * Online payment for rent. * Reminders for rent and sometimes security related emails - lock your cars, x cars broken into. * Low deposit when moving in and lower rent (mid-2016 move-in) because of move-in special, which was increased after the first renewal. Cons: * Raise in rent is bound to happen once Milpitas VTA becomes operable. * The roads were closed because of the construction of status and some other roads * 1 swimming pool for both houses and rental units. * Very small gym. * No parking for the second car. - Not exactly a negative. Very understandable in the area. Our move-out was comfortable. We were charged a nominal/affordable amount. We were glad to see the final bill. This is by far the worst apartment complex I've ever experienced when it comes to communication and understanding and it's only been 5 months. Management does not seem to care about your needs..or at least mine. I've had a problem with my packages being "missing". They are either are being stolen or missed delivered. Prior to moving in I was asked by Theresa, our leasing consultant, if I wanted to be subscribe to the locker for packages. I declined because I assumed that my packages would be either left in the parcel locker or my mailbox. A couple missing packages, calls, and complaints after I found out that my packages were put in the locker. Management had told me, "in order for me to retrieve my packages, I had to pay for the $25 subscription." which made no sense because 1. I declined the offer prior to signing the lease and 2. Defeats the purpose of me declining it. So not only did I have to pay to retrieve my packages I am FORCED to pay for the lockers when I didn't want to in the first place. I've spoken to Emmanuel about this. I've also asked him to help me speak to higher management, but he never responded. Also, let's talk about my towing incident on 1st month of living here. I asked the security on hand if it was okay for me to park in the garage. Leasing office failed to explain to me that you need a parking permit to park there. My car got towed and I had to pay $450 to take it out the lot. Spoke to Emmanuel again if he can help me considering the fact that I JUST MOVED IN. No help from him. OH not to mention the neighbor from upstairs clogged there drain and had water all over our apartment island and floor during the night. I slipped and almost sprained my knee. Our family laptop was damaged and sent a video to management, but never did anything about it but told us to put it in front of a fan to dry. I get no good communication from management BUT the funny thing is when it comes to missed rent payments they're on top of that. read more

One of the worst places I have ever stayed in bay area. 1. No return on deposit money. Plus they charge additional money for no good reason. We had kept our apartment very clean and even the inspecting person said we will be getting refund but, finally ended up paying around $200 extra which was ridiculous. 2. Worst customer service, a lady named Cecelia in the leasing office is the most rudest person I have ever met. 3. FALSE FIRE ALARMS every 2 times a month and that too from 2am to 6am. 4. I don't live here but was on my way to check out the place and here are some of my first observations. The complex is surrounded by newly built homes and high end apartments. Right across the leasing office is a very nice tennis court! Right when I was about to walk in, I heard loud scream and people arguing right on the third floor next to the leasing building. I looked down and saw this. Should I be worried? Anyways, the rating is only due to this. Overall, Karan, the assistant manager seems pretty cool. Very straightforward and told me there will be fees that will get deducted from the deposit and told me that I'm definitely not going to get 100% deposit back. Expect to pay for carpet cleaning and apartment cleaning fees. The place seems nice. I looked at a 2B2B floor plan B1-B. There's over 300 units here and it's about 95% occupied with 6 floors of sub floor parking lot. You get two free parking spots if you have a room with above 900sq ft. The master bedroom was nice but the second room was tiny. In conclusion, because of the small sized rooms, I end up not signing. If small room is not a concern, then I think it's worth the current offer which is around $3000 a month after the 1 month free promotion. Peace read more

I've lived in 6 different apartment communities since I've moved to the Bay Area (about 10 years ago). I don't think I've ever written had a bad experience or have written a bad review for an apartment complex that I've lived in, until now. **This review does come with a special disclaimer, however. It doesn't apply to the maintenance staff of the community. Our experience with them was positive during the time we lived there.** To give you an idea of how mismanaged the community is, here are a few things that have happened during our time living there: 1) THEFT - numerous occasions of stolen packages (we even had a sign on our door asking delivery people to leave our packages at the leasing office, but never did) - stolen pumpkins from our doorstep (lol yes, even pumpkins!) - someone even stole our old dirty doormat (who does that?!) - people would even "steal" our parking spot to use our designated car charger for free When you report these things to the leasing office, they will say the same thing; "don't leave anything outside your door," "there's not much we can do," and take no further action. 2) FIRE ALARMS - they go off about twice a month (if you're lucky) usually around 2am-6am - while I understand that fire alarms are made for our safety, false alarms ARE NOT. I'VE LIVED IN OTHER APARTMENTS where the fire alarms would go off AND THE MANAGEMENT WOULD HANDLE IT RIGHT THEN AND THERE TO ENSURE IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN 3) ROACHES - everywhere!!! Even exterminators can't get rid of them!!! I'm super thankful that we no longer live here, nor do we have to worry about renting anymore. We are lucky to have found our home and bid good riddance to Amalfi Apartments. Some advice to the management: get out of your leasing office and actually be involved in the community. See why the alarms are going off and do something about it. Organize community events (food trucks, pumpkin patches, anything!!!) to get to know your tenants. Or maybe try coming to work at all?
