This place is like no other! I have a 7 yr old Yorkie which is a bit high-strung and high maintenance in public. We recently moved to Michigan from out of state and needed to find a local groomer. This step was a bit nerve racking for myself and my pet because he gets very anxious and protective in new and strange places. I brought him here for grooming and was astonished at the excellent welcoming service they provided. First of all, each pet has his/her own room with a bed, blanket, treats and toys while visiting. I normally take one of his toys on trips like this to lower anxiety but forgot this time. Thankfully they had everything my dog could ever want or need while there. My dog had not been groomed in 3 months so he went in looking like a mess and came out looking and smelling like a rose! Thank you Elegant Pooch for making our first visit a pleasure! The elegant pooch is amazing! I took my 1 and a half year old Havanese there today and left totally satisfied. Dawn was amazing at everything! She removed all of his mattes he had and took her time when doing this as well as washing, drying, and cutting. She cut exactly how I asked for and left him in a "puppy cut" look that I wanted. He looks perfect! Look how happy he looks in the photo! Also, the actual facility is so nice and you can see everything happening right in front of you when you walk in. They also cut fast so it's not like having to send your dog to stay there for 4-6 hours. They cut at appointment time and call you when done. Would recommend to everyone!! read more

I love this place! I really feel like they listen to what I want and offer great advice/suggestions for managing the fur challenges my pup presents. Everyone is very friendly and wonderful with the animals - very caring. Started coming here a few years ago with my older dog who had very long hair and loved hanging out in the dirtiest spots he could find. He was a lot of dog in a lot of ways but they always did marvelous work with him. Now I have a much smaller pup but she has her own fur challenges (lots of it and chronic "bed head") so it was an easy decision to stay with the same place. Don't regret it a bit. Best Doggy Haircut Ever We were visiting our family in Lansing and wanted to get our dog groomed. We found Elegant Pooch through Yelp, and managed to book an appointment same day. What luck! We couldn't be happier with how cute our dog looked after his grooming session. Also, the Elegant Pooch facilities look great, with a very nice boarding area where each pet gets their own little room. The fenced in outdoor area looked really nice, too. Even though we don't live in Lansing, we are planning on using Elegant Pooch whenever possible. read more

We have been a client of The Elegant Pooch for approximately 5 years. Our beloved Sadie (Shi-poo) is a senior dog who currently has a torn canine cruciate ligament (CCL). Karen has been fabulous with her. We had her groomed recently and she did not seem to mind it despite her injury. We and Sadie both love the fact that they do not crate your pet once their grooming has been completed. We both love the suites! Karen was highly recommended by an executive at Grand Ledge Ford. My pup gets pretty stressed about grooming, but he loves this place. When i go to pick him up, I love being able to see my dog as I walk up, chilling out in style, as they have spacious, lavish rooms for each pet. He always looks SOOOOOO good when he gets groomed, and my groomer has been an absolute dream to work with when it comes to special instructions, or special care to pet needs. Cori has a talent that many groomers lack. She knows exactly how to hand-strip a wiredhair dachshund. She has been looking after our boy for several years now. He all but falls asleep while she works on him - so know worries about discomfort for your dog. Best of all, he looks great when we pick him up! Cori also trims our cookapoo and it is obvious that she is a master with the scissors. read more

I have never been able to clip my dog's nails in the year I've had him. The vet has tried 3 times and I'd taken him to 3 different groomers. They all said the same thing: he wasn't aggressive, just VERY skittish. I didn't get the name of the woman who FINALLY clipped his nails here but she was amazing! She succeeded where 6 others have failed (7 including me). I will be back! read more

The owner is amazing. Very happy and comfortable atmosphere!! Each Dog gets their own room even the dogs that get groomed.ZERO CRATES. The rooms are comfy and they have TVs on where the dogs are so they have some background noise to make them feel a bit more at home. The place is lovely.
