Had to pick up my dog early with a frantic call from staff that my dog was having anxiety and shaking from stress when I picked her up,the rooms where they board them look old and unclean,the day we dropped her off one of the staff members remarked,oh we had an accident in the room where my dog was to stay,water all over the floor and not dry and very confined even for a Yorkie,then to come home with bloody stools,means she was not eating well while she was there and overly nervous and defeated looking,thanks for nothing and also the haircuts are atrocious. read more

The last two times we've taken our dogs for nail trims there, they come out with nails as long as when they went in. I'm disabled and can't go with my husband and he's too shy to complain. But this lack of service is disgraceful! The nails are long and have rough edgesx and they have the nerve to charge $40.00! Our dog Fox is a 100-pound snuggler that is some sort of rottweiller mix. In other words, he looks big and intimidating. The folks at Wag N'Tails had him pegged as a snuggler from the start. The staff really gets to know the personality of the dogs and genuinely enjoy the animals in their care. We usually board for 1 - 4 nights and have him bathed before coming home. The prices are the same as other places in town, but I love the fact that he isn't in a cage and therefore can get a good night's rest without having to hear other dogs barking or crying. As others have said, they are comfortable answering questions and accomodating as needed. For example, we have to bring food, and because of some joint issues our dog can't play with other dogs. They treat these requests with respect. Most of all, I TRUST them, which is the most important part for me. read more

I've brought my two dogs to Wag 'N Tails several times for grooming and once, just recently, for boarding. They consistently do an amazing job with the grooming--I have two big, furry mutts, and they always look and smell amazing after they get groomed (no small feat). It's usually not difficult to schedule an appointment time when you want it, and the staff have always been helpful, adaptable, and kind. My experience boarding my dogs here was more of the same. I was able to schedule boarding with only a week's notice, make a couple of last-minute changes, and felt completely comfortable leaving my dogs here while I was out of town. The dogs were totally worn out when I picked them up (again, no small feat), so it seemed like they got their playtime and daily walks while I was away. I highly recommend Wag 'N Tails for both grooming and boarding. Prices are comparable to anywhere else in the area, and the service is outstanding. read more

This is a wonderful place to leave your pet if you have to leave town. The facility is extremely clean & well-tended to. The employees are very polite & reassuring when you leave your "kids" (like my dog) & are not adverse to answering a million questions about what your pooch will be doing. The price is extremely reasonable considering they feed your dog their food (they have a pretty extensive list of foods), the dogs are taken out 4 times a day, and play with other dogs for a while. Additionally, you can have your dog taken out for more "playtime" or even a walk at the dog park nearby - AWESOME. The "suites" are cleaned out daily, the dogs always have fresh bedding, can have toys & treats (if you allow it) provided by the facility. It's really the best daycare center ever for dogs. read more

It's been almost a year since my last visit and I recently brought my 2 eleven year old beagles in for a 13 night stay. Being that it had been a while, I was prepared at check in to explain the dogs feeding schedules, interactions with other dogs, etc. So, right after we were greeted, Alison began asking if anything had changed since our last visit and explained from memory her understanding of my feeding preferences, rare seizures, my request for no interactions with other dogs (my dogs - littermates - unfortunately were never socialized and can't be with other dogs without being highy stressed) etc . I was really impressed with how well she knew and remembered my dogs as well as her professionalism. We took them back to their shared suite they had fresh running water, bonies on the bed and the TV tuned to their fav channel. I felt good when I left and knew that my dogs (as always) were in excellent care. When I picked them up 14 days later they were very relaxed (really setttled in - not sure they wanted to go home with me) and they looked fantastic thanks to a grooming session (undoubtedly, the dogs loved that extra attention). I was given good feedback from the groomer who made a point to chat with me as were were leaving and shared the dogs did really well and loved the bath which I appreciated, being they had never been professionally groomed before (unless you count the water hose and bucket of dog shampoo in the backyard). I especially appreciated how I could see my dogs interact with the staff they day I picked them up to go home. This confirmed to me that my dogs enjoyed their stay and trusted the staff (translation - they got lots of attention - the point of their existence). In my last review of this establishment I only gave 2 stars, and while my my dogs had been well taken care of during that stay, one of my dogs had tweaked her leg somehow right before I picked her up to go home. The low star rating I gave was more of hurt feelings on my part (no one followed up with me) and was not a relection of the quality of their care. The proof in my dogs behavior - they love it here. THANK YOU to all the staff who looked after them, walked them, fed them, groomed them, talked to them, cleaned up after them and gave them endless belly scratches and hugs. read more

We boarded our 4yo shih tzu mix here about 4 times over two years while my husband was at State. Friendly staff, very cute and cozy 'suites', and nice play areas. Our dog seemed well cared for and enjoyed each of his stays. However, on his last stay in March he came out with a severe eye infection. I understand kids get sick at daycare. The weather was rainy and probably everyone got dirty, and it was crowded from spring break. We had requested a wash at the end of his stay but there was clearly a lot of eye gunk oozing from both eyes, and the staff didn't say anything until I did. We had to take him to MSU emergency vet right away and they put him in a cone and gave us antibiotic drops. I wish Wag n Tails would have at least acknowledged the eye infection esp since they had just washed him. read more

I can only say GOOD about this place.The workers and owners are great.They are very sincere,compassionate,and accommodating to your animal.What I love about this place is that they have running water for your dog,a t.v.,toys,a bed,central air,and on top of that its not a cage/jail. My dog loves it here.We usually board him when we go on vacation/trips for a couple days. Lots of good cage free places don't take-in Bully breeds or only have a list of breeds they will allow. Wag'n tails loves all breeds. The assistant manager was very friendly and answered all of our questions. We did a walk-in tour of the place. I also love that they take all your requests/concerns for your dog seriously. read more

I must have had a freak visit or something because this place SUCKED ROYALLY!!! I have a 100 pound yellow lab. He is all lab which means he loves to get wet and dirty,and it also means he is happy go lucky and a great family dog. When I picked him up I noticed he was still a little damp and I made a comment about it. The lady told me he was "a little grouchy" so they cut his drying time short to give him a reprieve. I found this strange but paid up and headed home. On the way home I was overwhelmed by musky dog smell and noticed a small blood spot on the seat. Upon closer inspection I found one of my dogs nails cut and a small peice dangling off the end. Appearantly good dogs get "a little grouchy" when you cut the end off their nails. Customers get "a little grouchy" when you cut their dog patch it up with stypin powder (which by the way I found all crusted up in the webbing of his paw), then give him a half assed grooming and play it off like normal. I love this place, they remember my dog every time I call (even before I give the last name). I love that they post pictures of your fur-babies while you're gone and that they're not cooped up in cages. They let you take your dog back at drop-off so you know exactly what run they have and that they've got their toys and their blanket with them. The staff is super friendly, and I've never had to ask how my dog was during his stay because they always tell me right away! My only recommendation would be to call as early as possible because they seem to book up fast! LOVE THIS PLACE I'd give 10 stars if I could. read more

Staff takes time to know the animals, facilities are very clean, dog beds are suspended off of the cement floors, music played in background to help ease stress,,fenced outside play area for dogs with dogs assigned to playtime groups based on size, wading pools available during hot summer days, personal tours available, overall a great place, our dog loves it, we've used the same kennel for 20 years and never a problem.
