Before starting therapy my husband and I were terrified to leave our babies with strangers and have no way to supervise whether they were ok or not. They've created such an environment we knew when we walked in the doors for assessments that our babies were in good hands. We were greeted with a warm welcome and buzzed into the back to take a tour of the facility while assessments were being done. There are devices in place to prevent children from eloping if they're prone to that. They are in a classroom setting however they still have a therapist assigned specifically for your child. Compared to other ABA clinics, BIG is the GOLD STANDARD of the Baton Rouge, Hammond, and the New Orleans area hands down. I love that they require a certain level of education to work there as well as requiring continued education. I won't go into detail, but It's very obvious that the children's well-being is top priority and this company isn't in it just for the money. Cassie, one of the owners seems to have a very close knit relationship with all the kids involved in her clinic. She has treated me and my family nothing short of like her own family. There is a BCBA present at all times instead of like some companies that just have a BCBA supervise periodically. Kelsey and Kourtney are AMAZING BCBAs and we started seeing huge improvements with both kids within the first week. My children are non-verbal and had no way to communicate upon starting. They VERY QUICKLY implemented PECS and gave my babies a way to talk to me. We've never had any issues with inconsistent staffing or had any days where there was not a therapist available to work with them unlike other companies who constantly have that issue. When we pull up to the building in the morning the kids both light up and begin smiling and laughing and I can just tell that they truly enjoy being there. I never wonder if they are being mistreated while they are there. Any time there is the least of an incident, they call and let you know what happened and send home a note with their daily report. Never have came home with any unexplained bumps or scrapes. They offer regular parent trainings which helps tremendously with implementing at home. They are very transparent when it comes to what their goals are with the kids and how they plan to get there. They educate you at meetings on the what/whys of everything they're doing. We live over an hour from Baton Rouge and stopped services to go with a company closer to home. That ended up a total nightmare. After extensive research on every single ABA company we could find in Louisiana, we ultimately decided the kids progressing in leaps and bounds was worth making the drive and are placing our kids back at BIG. We have to move closer to New Orleans within a year and have made the decision to even make that drive, that's how good they are. Also, BIG isn't JUST ABA therapy, they're an accredited school and there is no other clinic like them anywhere near the area, so there's no worry of rushing them into a traditional school system before they're ready. I can honestly say that I do not have one complaint about BIG or any of BIG's employees.

I love the idea that they have locked doors to go in and out for the "runners" that attend classes and therapy here! As a mom with a child with exceptionalities, safety is paramount! All the employees are easily identified so you know who is staff and a visitor in the building! We are excited that our family member is attending a social skills classes that will help with everyday conversations and to also prepare for job interviews. I really like how professional they handled our application to the class: the professional phone call, the email with the application to see if we qualify for the class, the meeting with the behavior therapist to see if our family memeber is best suited for the class. Our family member was okay to take the class because they felt welcomed in the meeting before the class. The sitting area is comfortable with a tv that shows an informational video about their successful stories. I also did not know they have parent classes, educational tutors and classes for pre-k readiness too! The main goal is behavioral therapy for children with autism to be social, to speak, and to overcome their sensory issues All to be socially accepted in the "real world." BIG gives children that chance to learn to talk and make friends. I'm very excited that my child will be apart of the BIG family!

Humble Periacetabular Osteotomy surgeon…read more Dr. John R. Faust diagnosed me with hip dysplasia at age 46. He took over an hour explaining every detail of the Periacetabular Osteotomy (PAO) (fellowship trained with Dr. Tim Schrader, Atlanta) surgery. Dr. Faust offered several options in his expert opinion and was transparent about the pros and cons of surgery. Even though I left his office in tears, I knew could trust Dr. Faust and his team for my bilateral PAOs. I returned to running a quarter marathon, a tough mudder in Europe and a triathlon without hip pain. I am grateful Dr. Faust is able to provide this specialty surgery in Louisiana. I have no regrets. I am thankful everyday for my healthy hips.

We have been seeing Terri since November and our family cannot say enough great things about her…read more She works with my great niece twice a week and we are very encouraged by the progress we have seen. The facility itself is set up so nicely. The therapy areas are so inviting! It truly looks welcoming to enter. While we only work with Terri, we have had sessions where we are in common areas with other therapists and clients and I have always thought they all do such great jobs. I know therapists jobs are not easy and yet these ladies always have a smile on their face and an upbeat attitude to reassure even the most worried parent that they can get through things! That is not always easy when a toddler is crying and not wanting to cooperate. And as that worried Aunt I can tell you it;s nice to be reminded that even when progress is slow at least we are having progress! Thank you Terri and all you great ladies! You are appreciated.

First impression of Dr. Callerame was good, he listened to all of my concerns and treated my issues. My second appointment is when the issue came to play. I came back for a 3 month follow up and was 7 minutes past my appointment. The Doctor had already left for the day is what his nurse said to me after I had checked and and sat in the waiting room, waiting for 10 minutes. They told me I would need to reschedule my appointment. I tried to reschedule my appointment with him for another close appt. Thi was an appointment to discuss if my medication that was prescribed to me, by him was working for my debilitating migraines. The medication had not been working, so I informed the nurse of this. She was very rude and told me that all she could do is schedule me out 3 more months. Keep in mind they have a 15 minute grace period for appointments, and I was only 7 mins late. I work for Our Lady of The Lake, and is in the process of trying to find another neurologist.

Thankfully Dr. Davis is a professional who respects bodily autonomy. I am terrified of needles, and the amazing nurses and care team at Woman's made my experience one of the smoothest I've ever had. The technicians were kind, explained everything to me, and made sure I felt cared for. I am almost a week post-op and even though I am generally very sensitive and my health is poor, I am recovering unusually fast and have very little pain. I can only think to attribute this to the expertise of the surgeon. When I do have pain, I don't feel like I need to ration my medication, because they gave me all that I needed and didn't skimp. My only issue was that I need valium or xanax for anxiety and I was told I couldn't take it before the procedure due to consent forms. I learned that other patients were allowed to take theirs and it just depends on who the doctor and hospital staff are that I speak to before my surgery. Anxiety medicine doesn't nullify contracts or affect the outcome of pregnancy tests, so there is no reason I had to wait all morning without it until right before my procedure. Other than this issue, I had a very positive experience overall.
