I enjoy the fact that this gym is 24 hr. It's not a big box type gym like planet or crunch, but has plenty of workout options. I like the personal touch that you get at The Energy Club. Every one has such a great attitude and so friendly. This is definitely not a chain gym and you can tell by the way the staff greets you as soon as you walk in. They offer things that you will not see at other chain gyms too. For instance, you will see the owner, Frank, every day and he is doing a great job with this place. They also have a Pool, Hot tubs, classes, and a great nursery to watch your young ones while you work out, swim, or attend class. They also have a CrossFit room where you can do beginner "Ninja Warrior" type training. The staff have been doing a great job with the cleaning of the entire facility and I see them several times a week doing deep cleaning throughout the gym. They have cameras, and locking doors after hours so you always feel safe. I recommend that you check this gym out. read more

This place is filthy. Locker rooms have rotten wood. The hot tub is dark and has pieces missing. They don't respond to messages from their own message website or their facebook messages. Pool is dirty and closed often for cleaning or private functions. read more

I have been a member since August, but have twice been accused of not scanning in by one particular member of the staff. This weekend she was down right rude about it. She interrupted my workout and accused me of lying. That is my biggest issue. The same woman has been rude to me every time I have encountered her. Apparently my $67 a month isn't good enough for her. Now, because I work two jobs, I can only go on the weekend and she makes me so uncomfortable that I don't want to be there. Other issues: The wifi is spotty, the equipment is old, the year-long contract policy offers no cancellation option other than medical, and the daycare attendant is frequently out sick. read more

This place looked and felt like a gym post-Katrina. The machines are all weathered and looking in need of serious replacement. The water machine was out of order and it was hot as HELL. Seriously, it was only missing that hurricane 'smell' to really give the full post natural disaster experience. I have no idea how/why my mom has a membership here other than it being the only gym in this small town. That and the only dude working was barely anywhere to be found. read more

I'm an active member but I have to say that I cringe every time I come in due to the disrepair of the building and age and condition of the equipment. Several pluses are the great staff and 24hour racquet ball courts. This place is barely adequate but could be so much more. read more

I think it's a pity thing, it has to be the only reason that someone would go here. The ceiling is rusting and falling down the weight machines are pre Katrina and the walls are painted the color of what I can describe as prison decore I'm guessing. read more

I have been going here for the past years. I love the amenities they offer (equipment, pool, tanning booth, hot tub and steam bath) BUT...they need to be cleaned DAILY. The hot tub is so dirty that I no longer use it. I complained to the person in the office in the back room and he said he would "get on that right away". I came back the next day and it was still stained and dirty. The showers in the women's locker room are deplorable!!! They have remodeled the locker room which is a great improvement but they need to keep it clean. It's a health issue with so many people in and out of there. The personal touch this gym offers is amazing. I am a current member and have been for a little bit over a year now. I sadly have not made it in for almost six months and the first person I see is Frank, the owner. I was pleased that he knew my name after not attending for six months and made a comment about not seeing me. This place makes me feel part of a family and that I'm not gyming it up by myself. We joined a month ago for rehab. We needed strength. We are stronger now and have better stamina. We are old and just swim. The staff is great. Know our names and give very friendly service. We are very happy that we bought a six month membership. read more

Gym equipment is in terrible shape with limited or no maintenance performed on them. I've seen better free weight areas in basements. Bench pads are torn, benches are loose...Someone is going to get seriously hurt in this gym. This guys has the only game in town and the nearest "other" gym is a good 10 miles away. Save your money and buy a home gym.... Did I mention the locker room is filthy and pprobably containes stuff I dont want to imagine,,,MERSA anyone? read more

the worst gym I have ever seen, rusty equipment that is falling apart, even the dumbells are falling apart, the place is full of black mold, smells like mildewed carpet, almost everyone that works there is way out of shape, and does not need to give exercise advice, overpriced, the guy has had the same equipment for nearly 2 decades, and even the cardio equipment he just got is 2nd hand garbage. the only reason to go to this place is to get staff infection or some kind of new diesese. my advice is go to bayou veiw fitness, its cheaper, cleaner, better equipment. the energy club owner so cheap, its not even funny. I really dont know how this place hasnt been shut down by the health department, or some other agency. read more
